    This is why refs and commentary should be eligible for HOF it's everyone working together to put on a show and some of the refs taking a bump for the fans is their dedication to the craft

    • @Leanzazzy
      @Leanzazzy 2 месяца назад

      The whole reason Carny was invented was so that the audience never realised it was all an elaborate work and the wrestlers are communicating with each other and backstage.
      Nowadays everyone knows it's scripted and kayfabe has gone out the window.
      So no one cares even if wrestlers loudly communicate in English.
      There are many wrestlers who are old-school and obviously grew up speaking Carny, but now they just speak in plain English e.g. Shawn Michaels, the Undertaker etc because newer talent don't know Carny.

    Sad that the historical carnival wrestling culture has almost died out, even the remnants of jargon.
    The business has probably the most fascinating origins of any sport/performance genre, and almost no one is still alive who knows about it, even the kids in the ring.

    I broke into the business (just indies) in 2004. I spoke carny but very few of my peers did. I imagine it’s almost totally gone by now. Never once did I use it to call a spot. Just while talking business at the after party or something like that.

    Wow Vince truly was a tyrant not only was he screaming into the announcers ear piece telling them what to say but he did the same thing with the referees I don't understand the need to countdown every single minute I can understand telling the referees they have 5 minutes 2 minutes etc but every minute they do a countdown?? That's insane
