- Have you ever tried Ethiopian food? If not, we highly suggest you give Selam Ethiopian and Eritrean Cuisine a try. The restaurant is located a half mile from Sea World Orlando and about 15 minutes from the Walt Disney World Resort. They have a wide variety of vegan, vegetarian and meat lover dishes to try out. We enjoyed some Ethiopian beer, Samosas, a combo platter that had both vegetables and meats, the coffee service as well as baklava. Spoiler alert, it was all fantastic, as was the service. Our server Abraham was so knowledgeable, friendly and humorous.

I worked for years with a Doc that was from Ethiopia....I consumed his wife's leftovers often! We'll have to check this out next time we are in Florida sounds awesome! We just uploaded a video of an Indian place in Orlando too hahaha

Of course! We love the theme park area restaurants but we know that’s not always the most budget friendly so we’re trying to incorporate a little bit of everything and soon we will even be doing reviews and travel outside of central Florida which we’re super excited for!

Well hello B & S, you are on 108 as I (Katy) type 👍👍👍, 200 here we come and then the 1000. We have never eaten at an Ethiopian restaurant, not sure we have ever come across one. Glad you enjoyed the whole experience, not only the food. It is wonderful when service goes up a notch from necessity to genuine isn't it. My hubby would have loved the baklava we had a Greek friend who would make it and share with us. Thanks for your friendly sharing with us 😘😘😘❤❤❤

I love love love how restaurants can be windows into cultures. Sambusas are fantastic...so fantastic. It seems like they and empanadas in Mexico/Central America both originated from Indian samosas.
And now I feel like getting them right now. (Why did I watch before lunch?)

The injera is fermented so maybe that's why its tangy. If you are vegan/vegetarian there is a lot of option. Glad you liked it.
Yes, we really loved it. We went to another Ethiopian place while we were doing s vegan diet a while back and really loved it all there too! -S

The cheese is meant to be eaten with doro wet or any of the red sauce items it cuts down the heat when paired together. The tang in the enjera is fermentation like how sour dough bread is made
You know, we are learning so much more about the food! I loved the cheese on it’s own but I can see if we got the food spicer where it would’ve helped cut the spice. Thanks so much for watching! -S

Ohhhh, I had Ethiopian when I lived in Atlanta. Their food is similar to Indian. I really enjoyed it. Very nice guys. LIKE 21. 👍👍👍

To make it a complete Ethiopian eating experience, before starting eating, these steps are followed. #1, wash your hands. #2, say grace. #3, give Gursha to your partner before you eat for yourself.

The tanginess is the alcohol. Much like sourdough bread when you mix yeast and flour in water the byproduct of that fermentation process is alcohol.
