I have to tell you, this is amazing. people won't follow it though. they don't have these spices. they might have some of them, but they don't have all of them and you need all of them. plus you have to follow this exactly or at least very close to it. I used a coffee grinder to grind the cardamon and the fungeek since I didn't have powdered. the fragrance was amazing after grinding them. the combination of the various spices all coming together, just wow. the prawns were so tender and I even used kind of old frozen prawns.of course we here in seattle get wild Alaskan ones which have a real seafood briny flavor compared to others. one of the most flavorful dishes I have ever tasted and I really like the idea of putting more fresh crunchy red onions and green bell peppers at the end. I could not believe it today, I went to my normal market to only get red onion and green peppers and incredibly, the were all out of green bell peppers. never, ever has happened before, totally out. they even have two sections. organic or not, and both were out. not one pepper left. so I had to go to another store just to get one green pepper. this curry is packed with flavor. funny yesterday, I was driving around and happened to turn on an Indian radio station which was speaking in Hindi of course and from what I could tell, they were playing punjabi music. not to everybodies taste but I liked it. some of the women have very high pitched voices but I liked it.
So glad you liked the recipe. Thanks a lot for your appreciative comment. This is truly very delicious. Regarding the green bell peppers, I have observed this that when you are in search of an important ingredient it surprisingly vanishes. Happens to me quite frequently 😄. Good you ultimately found it in the other store.
Thanks for all your support, Fred.

Yep. I made it today, went to look for the fenegreek leaves and then the toko (Indonesian shop in Holland) was closed, so I had to make it without them.
Hope you liked it

I’ve immediately subscribed and you are immediately my favourite Indian curry. I cannot wait to try whatever else you’ve posted. Thanks a million!!!

this is simplified? I'd hate to have the complicated version.
Your explanation is just awesome.....❤️
Thanks Antara. I love explaining everything in detail.
You are great because you make things (recipes)easy. Your an unbelievable teacher. Your recipes are unique & for sure, not copied from other recipe videos. Please come out with more presentations.
Thanks for your kind words. I am glad you find my videos useful.
hello Thank you for the detailed explanations. i like how you patiently explain when the flame should be lowered or increased, those sort of details are important for inexperienced cooks like me. my question is - can i replace butter that’s used at the start with ghee instead? Thank you
I will never say no to ghee 😀.
Glad you found the video useful. Please do send me your feedback after trying the recipe. Thanks for leaving a comment 🙏🏾
@@CurriesWithBumbi me too! I’ll never say no to ghee - it’s what makes life great. Yes I’ll update you once I’ve tried the recipe. Thanks 😊

What a sweet person you are. I feel in love with India and its cuisine when I first went there in 1986. Since then, I’ve been many times but never tired of its food and culture. What a great nation. And you convey how to cook so very charmingly. Where are you based? In US?
Yes I live in USA. I am glad to hear that you like the Indian culture and cuisine. Thanks for leaving a comment.
A very informative presentation. Creating a desire for immediate satisfaction of the palate.
Thanks a lot for leaving a comment. I really appreciate it. Please do try the recipe & send me your feedback. Take care 🙏🏾
Hi Bumbi, what kind of small grinder you are using. I love all your recipes. They are tasty and simple.
I use Nutribullet. Thanks for all your support
That looks delicious. May I ask, if I've got 'pre cooked frozen prawns', I'll defrost them, but should I add them just before or just after the cream as they really just need heating through?
Add the prawns after adding the cream along with the fried onions and bell peppers. Just give a stir and switch off heat. Please do try the recipe and send me your feedback. Thanks for leaving a comment.
Woo yum! great to have it with basmati rice 😋
You are absolutely right. There is nothing like rice 😀. Thanks a lot for watching 🙏🏽
garlic nan
Nice recipe. Will try and let you know.
Looking forward to hear your valuable feedback. Thanks a lot for watching 🙏🏽
@@CurriesWithBumbi I tried it yesterday and I really liked it a lot. Adding sugar and cream to the dish really enhanced its taste. Also loved adding the sauteed capsicum & onions to garnish the dish. Also I was able to add only tomato ketchup instead of puree and it still tasted good. The gravy had a thick consistency and lovely orangy color with green capsicum pieces here and there. This will be in my favorites list to try out often. Had a enjoyable cooking experience with this dish. Can this dish also be called Prawn Butter Masala? Thanks for sharing such a lovely recipe.
@@sridharg3043 Thanks a lot for sending your feedback. So very happy that you liked the recipe. Butter masala is prepared in a slightly different way by first sautéing or boiling ripe tomatoes, onions and nuts and then making a purée of them and finally making a graving with that purée.
Tomato ketchup does give a nice umami flavor to any dish.
Thanks for all your support for the channel from the very beginning 🙏🏾. I am blessed to have you all as my subscribers.
I have done your dish today and I’m waiting for my sister to come home and taste it
Thanks Joseph for choosing my recipe. Hope your sister will like it.
It’s amazing just tried the recipe , what a wonderful dish did it exactly the same way as per the video . Thank you very much for sharing the recipe.

Sorry didn’t quite get it !! What about the language??
Namaste Bumbi 🙏😋
Absolutely love prawns 🍤, I think like 🍄 they are sent from heaven!!! However I have only had a prawn 🍤 curry once in restaurants and they were rubbery so I have not tried to cook myself.
I might now cook curry with them.
Bohut Dhanyavaad Bumbi ❤
Colin 🇮🇳🏴
If prawns are overcooked they get rubbery. Have a lovely weekend Mr. Colin
Yes Bumbi. Will enjoy
What kind of rice would you recommend putting it on?
Any kind but I love it with Basmati rice
I have seen others cook shrimp by adding them raw directly to the curry. My question is if I skip the step of frying the shrimp in the oil how much would this change the flavor of this dish? I like the way the shrimp look crispy when fried but if I skipped this step and just added them raw to cook in the curry would doing this ruin the taste of the dish? Thanks in advance and as always thank you so much for sharing all of your delicious easy to follow recipes with us 🙏
Hi Christina definitely you can add them raw, directly into the gravy. It won’t ruin the dish at all.
Thank you very much for the recipe. You are absolutely right, prawns must cook very short time, a minute or until get pink. I can't understand how others cook for 10-15 minutes, they would be stone-hard...
Yes Renata prawns become tasteless and chewy if overcooked. Thanks a lot for your time in leaving a comment. Please do check out my playlist on my channel page for more recipes. Take care 🙏🏾
@@CurriesWithBumbi I did subscribe to your channel and also watching your recipes. I will be honest I really like it. Didn`t see yet if you have a lamb curry recipe, it`s my favorite dish. x
Thanks a lot Renata for all your support. I do have a pressure cooker lamb curry recipe. Though I made it in Instant Pot but you can make it in any pressure cooker. Giving you the link to that recipe -

Trying this tonight! I can’t get Dhania power here in the UK! Any substitute for this?
Don’t worry. It will still taste great without it . Please send me your feedback after trying out the recipe. You can later check if you get it online. I always buy dhania seeds ( coriander seeds ) and crush them in my coffee grinder to make coriander powder. Thanks 🙏🏽
Curries With Bumbi just found some corriander powered in the cupboard! I will let you know how it goes! 👍
Great 👍
Hey Bumbi !! Well I made it and it was delicious!! Making it again this weekend!! Thank you!! 😋
So glad you liked it. Thanks a lot for your feedback. Stay tuned 🙏🏽
Can you freeze it?
Yes you can but do not add the green bell peppers if want to freeze
Hello!! I don't have Besan where I live :( is it very necessary?
It gives a nutty kind of flavor and thickness to the gravy. You can substitute it with garbanzo bean flour ( chickpea flour) if that is available at your local grocery. If not then you can leave it out , it will still be very delicious.
@@CurriesWithBumbi thank you so much for replying fast. Im currently making it and left this step out. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Hope you will like it . Please do send me your feedback.
Hi, in the video you add Cumin Seeds but they don't appear in the recipe?
Oops 😬 so sorry about that. My apologies. Thanks for letting me know.
@@CurriesWithBumbi no problem thanks for the update

Love your recipies but need to avoid tomatoes due to a health and diet issue. Would love to see some curry recipies without tomatoes or else with suggestions for alternatives to tomato. Thank you.
Sure. Actually for tikka masala tomatoes are must. You can use yogurt as an alternative to tomatoes or maybe just lemon juice at the end. You can do another thing. Purée some red bell peppers (red capsicum) in place of tomatoes. It will alter the actual taste but impart sweetness and beautiful red color like tomatoes. Thanks a lot for watching my videos. Stay tuned.
Many thanks, also, for the Chicken Rezala recipe. It sounds mouth watering and I’m looking forward to trying it. More tomato-free recipes!😊😊😊 Love them!
Check out my chicken chaap recipe too. That also doesn’t have any tomatoes in it . I will mention in my videos when I use tomatoes whether it is optional or not .
It doesn’t look like you deveined the prawns. For me that’s a must, otherwise wonderful recipe
I deveined them
