I would've thought, with that same cut, they would left enough metal at the lowest (left) part in tact, to where the tower would've been more secure and all they would have to do is pull it. Let the metal bend and finish the cut after its down.
Right from the beginning I could see the fatal flaw in their plan. I was praying they left some hinge metal on the back side but they did not. They are super lucky it dropped and sat. Wow.

I have worked in Demolition for my entire life. Any professional wrecker would say that was the wrong way to cut that down. It almost ended badly. The lift should have been parked and the burner at a safe distance before it was pulled over. We do what is called a set cut. Picture a staircase like cut, higher in the back with several inches in the front not cut. This keeps it in place until pulled and won't allow it to go backwards.

Good it did not happen the way I thought. Would be easier to tie a long cable at the very top, make a 1/3 cut lower in the column and pull that thing down with a tractor. It would fall in place, then dismantle...
