Installing wood skirting on older mobile home using 4x4s: Part One

This 1969 mobile home had aluminum skirting, and I had already gone around the mobile home with 4x4 lumber and sheets of composite wood siding. One reason for doing it this way was the price of aluminum isent any cheaper than wood and I believe this is much stronger and good looking than the aluminum. And especially around the front where cars contact the siding. The rugged 4x4 look also looks really good with all the wood fencing, gates and decking we often have around our homes. The secret to the success of this job is being able to screw the 4x4s directly into the wood belt line surrounding the mobile home. The rest comes easy after that. I did use a belt sander to smooth and clean up the rough edges, and water seal all the wood afterwards and it looks great.
