Honestly, I’m in disbelief they played this song again after 12 years. Save Me is hands down my #1 favorite song from them, and I’ve heard everything they’ve put out. So much emotion and grief was put into this song. Every phrase, every solo, every single piece of this song is so well constructed and one of the most emotional songs they’ve written. So Far Away, Dear God, Victim, (okay Victim gets a pass because of why it THAT song was written and same for Fiction) all have a certain level of story telling of different stages of grief, but this song tells, I feel, every different stage of losing, not only a friend, but a brother. Nightmare, I feel, is arguably their best album because never in any of those men’s lives will they ever create another album like it. They dumped their whole heart in soul making this album and being Jimmy’s last album with the band, made even more heartfelt because you can hear the emotion on every single song on that album. I mean I guess you could call me a fanboy because they’re my favorite band but I can always be open to admitting flaws, but these are some super talented dudes. Rant over lmfao
Going into the A7X show in Toronto knowing this was on the setlist was worth traveling from St Louis to see it. Was fortunate to hear this live in 2011 on the spring Nightmare tour, but never thought I'd get to see it performed again! Cannot stress how grateful I am for that! This and Orion on the M72 tour from Metallica easily take the crown of most special songs I've seen performed the in the last year
Couldn't agree more, to me this song has everything great about A7X, the heaviness, the melodic parts, the hard as hell drum parts, crazy guitar solos and a very synister vibe
They run the mid frequency up a good bit, so it cuts through the mix. Sounds similar to the vr concert, but that is more mixed. He is also cupping the mic, which adds mids on the tip of the mids they run into the mic.

@Darkhalo314 the music he wrote never was meant to be faithfully reproduced live. Saw them first in 2006 and he has never sounded right live. This is an excellent performance for what he can do. He isn't ever going to be Maynard James Keenan.

I was at this concert and Matt said there were going to be some surprises. Little did I know that it would include them playing THIS song. That was also aided by the fact that this was the first show of the tour, so there was only so much I could do to look at past setlists to know what they were going to play. As soon as I heard the bass intro, I just stood there, hands over my mouth, practically in tears of disbelief at what I was listening to. This, followed by Cosmic, was an incredible end to the show. Now that’s not to say the rest of the show wasn’t. Getting to hear some other deep cuts in Blinded in Chains and Roman Sky was a welcome treat. This is a night I will never forget and is one of the reasons why they are my favorite band.
This song's helped me so much in life. Different interpretations in each situation I've been in that affected me negatively. And I've always resorted back to this song for its impactful lyrics.

I saw them at Madison Square Garden last year and it would’ve been perfect if they played this song but still a perfect and beautiful show! So happy they did it live!!!!!! This is by far the most emotional song and I cry every time I hear it.
I’m so glad they’ve brought this back. One of my favourite songs of all time, they sound really good here, syn and Zacky’s vocals are unmatched absolutely stunning. Shame about Matt’s voice though, he can’t harmonise with the others at all anymore, and he goes out of sync during the chorus, not to take anything away from this because this is setlist is unprecedented. Best setlist ever IMO. Can’t wait to see them at download this summer ❤❤
