Casting director isn’t a career path, it’s a stepping stone to becoming a producer. So If the casting director can help out a powerful person, that’s leverage that can help them out later.
Seems very high in Hollywood and wall st. That’s what my mentor told me in financial services. It’s also historically where you can make big money if your not from money. Tech companies are a new way but before that is was Hollywood or Wall Street if you wanted to go big.
Oh, I stumbled over Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas book in a library when I was in my early 20s, and I thought that might be a fun read. What a crazy novel!! When the news came that they would be making a movie out of it, I thought to myself, no way....! It is such a self-indulgent delusional irrational book. There were many big names floating around like Scorsese and Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson. But then they went for Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro. Although the movie was not a big hit at the box office, it really captured the insanity of the novel.
