Fun fact: if you have a destructive weapons licence you can have a tank with a fully fufunctioning cannon.
Thx
Where'd the other comment go?

If your going to purchase a chieftain also buy a few spare engines you'll need them the one Achilles heal of an otherwise excellent MBT.
Andy... engine change every 150 to 200 hours use (if yer lucky) and air filter clean every 5 hours. Glorious old beasts though, real monsters.
@@cuhurun Ventilation on the chieftains was improved on massively on later models and its engine while problematic wouldnt require a straight change, just repairs and checks.
Chieftain Mk 10: Not road worthy. Its 3.6m wide when most typical road lanes are 3.5m wide. Its also much too slow with a maximum speed of 40km/h. Also its almost 20 tonnes heavier then most roads will allow.
T-55: Not road worthy. Its too slow at 51km/h for most roads. It squeaks by at 36 tonnes and 3.37m wide.
2S3 Akatsiya: Yeah. Its roadworthy. POTENTIALLY.
2S1 Gvozdika: Yeah Its roadworthy. It just squeaks by with speed limits however.
BTR-60: Yeah roadworthy. But just as a personal tangent. Its not a tank. Its a APC.
Tatra ShKH DANA: Yeah roadworthy. Again personal tangent, its also not a tank. Its a SPGH.
Also noting this is provided you get lucky with vehicle inspections and registrations. I wouldnt be taking many on this list as a gurantee considering the minor chances of this going through the DMV. Ontop of the fact that most of these are typically more expensive then whats said in the video and some are rare to get even an offer to buy from. Some of these tanks obviously wont be in america and will require shipping. Which is fucking expensive at 20-30k. Plus you run into the same problem of getting it through customs.
Some of those aren't tanks.
@@andyfriederichsen he said so
I just realized this the job I am hopefully going into I will have a tank after only about 2 years or lower if I get every certification before I am 18. (Millwright and welding)
What job is it?

What certifications

@ikenbomb! How much is repairs tho
Imagine you're a robber and go into someone's garage to steal his "car" but find a tank instead
The thing is you might be rockin the coolest vehicle in your state, but the gas mileage woud be CRAZY! Thats not it, *NO ONE WOULD INSURE A TANK*!
You don't have to insure a thing that can't be damaged by normal day standards
@@fernandoqueirozpopovic7024 In America it’s illegal to not have insurance.
@@redlinesandfuntimes because your system is broken :D
@@fernandoqueirozpopovic7024 I think it is Illegal because i think it is more if you damage someone elses car
@@abstract0014 well the chances are there bit are slim enough to be able to slide by, and it really depends on where you are and what sort of traffic there is, because of you look at major cities they have a lot of traffic I mean a tank to have for long drives off road and a weekend drive to show off
How is the t-55 road legal with that width
Because tank that's why

I need to check out one of those Ford F One Hundred and Fifty trucks
The last one can't be legal for a civilian to own 💀
the price to buy it is one thing but to maintain it is another
just the transport will cost you a few grand
The real qustion is where do i buy one?
Good luck finding them some of these are exceptionally hard to find an offer on.

No MBT is road legal in Europe. The military get a pass to use certain roads as part of a training agreement with the govt. For the UK you will need a separate test and element of your drivers licence. Tracks must be rubber padded as well.
Where can I buy these?
Regular kids be wanting Lamborghinis and Bugattis Im dead ass getting a tank
10 Toad legal tanks....only 2 of which are tanks....also, what is the additional cost of getting any of these beauties shipped to the USA from their home countries?
No 8 are tanks. Also 2 of them arent road legal. And you are looking at 20-30k.
@@Th3Bishop3 8 are tanks? Really? Do you know that just because it has tracks does not make it a tank. Several are self propelled artillery, others are armored recon vehicles, but not tanks. I retired after 28 years in the US Army, spend the entire time on M1 series TANKS, so I know the difference.
@@shoup2882 "Tank - a heavy armoured fighting vehicle carrying guns and moving on a continuous articulated metal track." Also m1 eh? Which crewmember were you?
@@Th3Bishop3 All of them, worked from driver to loader to gunner to TC eventually to Plt Sgt then 1SG. Retired after 28 years. Started out on plain jane M60's, then M60A1's then A3's then M1, M1IP, M1A1, ending in M1A2.
@@shoup2882 The chances of being all positions in all cold war and post cold war MBT's serviced by the americans is damn near impossible.
do one of these for britian
I'm buying 4 of these.
Are you taking over a small island or sumn Lmao
Fun fact : Childhood dreams.
I don't understand, why do you have to demilitarize the tank? You can't buy 120mm/125mm tank rounds at your local store...
I think it may have to do with the fact that you can still mount .50 cals on top and it’s still bulletproof? I don’t actually know I’m just guessing
But you still can get or make shells for them, aswell as the chance someone might resell to militas/terrorists
its a bit of a liability as people can still get their hands on tank shells
íd assume its a lot easier to just make functional main guns illegal
Because it's still a gun with a bore so large it's classified as a destructive device. Ammo you can make, good luck making a new barrel that will actually work
You can buy 120mm and 125mm shells
Where can you buy one?
I would like the sabre
Ya but is it legal to ship into the USA? I did some research and wat I got out of it is u can not ship into USA. U can only buy wat is on market here already Witch drives the price up. If im wrong please let me know. I do have an extra 60 thousand sitting around.....lol
i want to get a t55
Working guns?
Requires a license
And it has to be legal in your state for a working gun lol
That would be awesome
Highly unlikely.
That's illegal, I think
@@nicoleb1021 nope. I'm being serious you can get working guns on a tank
You can actually buy a live gun tank for $250000 and you need to own either a tank or bomb range and of course pay ?the $200 tax stamp to the atf and you can drive it in the street.
It's ironically cheaper to pay someone to just build and all steel 1:2 model of any of these vehicles then it would be to buy them and have them shipped to even remotely where you live, plus the credentials to even own them.
I want an lav25
Yes yes maybe some tanks are ‘cheaper’ what about the money for maintaining the tank, cleaning it, changing tracks if you crash it like a dim whit. Oh also petrol! A man with an IFV ‘Tank’ had to stay half an hour or even more just fill it up with petrol. Imagine the Cheiftain Main Battle Tank! See there isn’t really any point getting a tank, most ya wont be aloud to bring on roads, and even if you are allowed you need to stay at a minimum amount of speed! Buying a tank: not really worth it……
But why not. It’s your Choice…
Pov: the boys saw this:
*WWXXVII STARTS ON STREETS*
I mean the Gvotskia
ferb i know what we're gonna do today
i didnt know that i could by cars for 60 bucks and tanks for 25 bucks
Why is a tank under 25 thousand s
Street legal tanks may help you survive road accidents, but you will be left with reckless impudence, resulting in multiple homicides and property damage charges.
I am from balkan and like 2 thousand is a VERY LOT of money for me so sadly i cant buy T34 :c
I'm only 14 but when I have enough money to retire I'm going to buy an APC
A bunch of those aren't tanks though.
There’s a t72m for sale rn 😂😂😂
I want to drive thru my tank thru McDonalds
Tank race> Car race
Send me the chieftain please
My mom was disappointed with me when I drove a fucking tank into the driveway
I would rather pay more for a militarized tank than a glorified tractor
Ah yes, the Ford F 100 and 50 raptor
Tank meet
would take the chieftain out of all these
Nice fake thumbnail, sadly tanks cost millions of dollars.
Not really millions, mor like tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands, still a lot but def not millions
@@rider4440 Depends on how modern the tank is, it's armament, and class. Some tanks even have mechanical shell loading systems freeing more space occupied by crew
Edit: you could mount guided missile launchers onto them wich makes them more special then others, comes with a cost too
@@andreeanotfunny8678 old fashioned tanks are cheap, like buying a AK in a third world country cheap.
