I think machinations of domination replaces blue skies. Invisariah this card single-handedly won me a game in my pre-release
I been liking high voltage as a 2 of in oscillio, i mean i can discard it if it really clunks up but it amps 2 and i think thats neat
Great video! 😊
Im a teklo player and the new adaptive disolver is my default armor slot for 3 of the 4 slots
@@calebmuir5615 dude that is awesome to hear! Maybe we were a bit harsh on it but I can't wait for the day Teklo is the man!
I can't blame ya haha he's a clunker
Call to the grave is going to be the first one banned out of this whole set. Banger right now
What play lines would get that banned?
Yeah I’m interested In why it’s so good
@@qp7888levia can fill her grave and assassins and ranger can search for a codex target, just to name something
Tutor effects tend to be the most valuable in card games. Levia has a bunch of play lines that it opens up.
-Get howl from beyond and Deadwood evil out of your deck for the grindy games.
-Get 2 graveyard fill
-Too many blues/non-6? Pick mark of the beast and exchange it for a random 6
Assume that there can be other graveyard dependent heros eventually. The ninja play lines with Bonds was another
I have a case of 1st edition tales of aria and no spell bound creepers. Would you guys crack it and hope for creepers or sell the case and just buy the creepers? Thanks for the videos I really like your thoughts and opinions.
Hey! Thank you for the kind words! Personally I think it's really risky at this time to open TOA still. Id just go for the sure bet and sell and buy the creepers!
Kicking and screaming about Nathan's Briar takes 😡
There are DOZENS of us
@@justintaulbee4255 dude. I was like chill homie! But he just loves to poke the bear! 😂.
We had the worst case for our prerelease, 1 legendary in the case and 15 majestics from 4 boxes.
I swear they cut the majestic pull rate in half and this upsets me a lot.
Expect all majestics to be up in value from half pull rates and artificial scarcity.
From that situation, best case scenario is we had rotten luck and hit a dud case but that means it gets very swingy in variance of value per box or even case. Not good.
Are you including all majestics even expansion slot card? Went to 4 prereleases, personally opened 53 packs roughly. Pulled 14 Majestics, 13 in set, 1 expansion slot. Plus 3 adult heros which aren't really majestics but are majestic rarity equivalent. Most other people pulled at similar rates. Multiple marvels opened every prerelease and even a fabled at 1. 1 CF legendary as well even. Quite a few total legendaries pulled though I don't know how exactly many. I think we should wait until we have numbers from the big case openings to really know for sure what distributions looks like.
In my 8 prerelease packs +2 prize packs I pulled 4 majestic, 2 of them RF? Maybe you just had a kinda really bad case? 😭 I know the people left and right next to me also opened around 2-3 in their packs 🥺
@@eseruwu in my prerelease 8 packs i pulled 1 majestic
@@russellswashbuckler i am including the expansion slot cards, we had a harsh case.
The decreasing number of majestics and the low amount of high impact playable cards from one display is what keeps me from buying them now. I wanted to buy at least one box for each set, but after Outsiders and DTD boxes I sat there thinking "thats all?"
I’m ready to watch this tomorrow haha
I am a Briar main but you’re right, I probably wouldn’t play her in Living Legend. Too much ice disruption lurking around the corner. And I do wanna also tell you that I’ve never once pitch stacked ever and I’ve played hundreds if not thousands of games at this point.
How have you *never* done that? You should be doing it, how long have you been playing, IE what format, what hero, ect. This game outside of MST has always had moments and games where that 2nd cycle matters, it's built into the fabric of the game.
I've no idea why you guys are hyping up rendition so much. Its not a d react as you called it, you cant play it and then reduce (for 0 cost), it needs to prevent damage to make the runechant. It doesnt make the chant when it blocks only when it prevents as an instant. The runechant it makes needs to be made when to draw it as it's completely dead in the arsenal. No clue why youd consider this great and "come back to it every once in a while" in any of the runeblade decks.
This is not financial advice. This is bad card throwing skills.
I think LSS needs to face more pressure when it comes to boxes and pull rates. I love FAB, but I feel like majestics and higher rarities are intentionally kept scarce too much, to the point where I think the best majestics in each set are also printed less. Having individual chaser cards that obviously will be highly sought after be as rare as they are is not consumer friendly. And it doesn't help if 90% of the majestics you get are low value, so you can't trade your way towards the cards you need. Cards costing more than 50 bucks should never be in the same rarity slot as cards worth 50 cents. If they want to do experiments with majestics (as in, not knowing which ones will be playable or unplayable), they need to start including one per pack.
Those "low value" cards are only because they're not relevant within the wider meta, at the moment. This game's market is driven by the Players and not by poor pull rates, so when there's demand for certain cards over others, the price will reflect that. Looking at Codex of Frailty, you can compare it to any other Majestic in the set and you'll see that the demand for this card is just higher than any other card in the set, which is shown by the constantly low stock and high price. We can even check the Collector's Center and see that the cards that *were* short printed are not even close to the price Frailty is, even though the Knives and the Traps are required for the Assassins and Riptide. It's not like Yu-Gi-Oh where entire decks are completely locked behind the highest rarity and further gated by pull rates and malicious printing.
@@larv23 I hope you're right and I also want to assume that to be the case. But shouldn't prices go down while boxes get opened and more people already have the cards they need? Instead, they start high and grow higher. If there is a constant lack of supply for these cards (from first printing up until years later), something must be wrong. Codex, Premeditate, Warmonger's Diplomacy, Command & Conquer - Cards consistently competing with legendaries in their price because their play value is immediately obvious. You can compare Codex of Frailty to the other two Codexes and the prices will reflect the mechanics of the cards. One card being blatantly better than the other two, but all occupying the same rarity slot. That's the part I see as either a design oversight or malicious, because you cannot in good faith create cards that "everyone needs 3 of" and put them in an ultra rare slot alongside a pile of duds.
@@odrez That's the funny part, look at HVY and MST for example. Those prices are super down, because those sets were opened to high heaven. Zen was one of the cheapest Best Decks we've ever seen, even with Traverse starting at ~$120 because all 3 heroes could use it. While sets like DTD and OUT are not really the best sets to open due to EV, and the overall lower power level of both sets. There are good individual cards in both, but tell me that you're opening Dusk Till Dawn and I'll respond with "Good luck chasing down the Prism/Chane". That was a large reason why Prism was so cheap before her weapon came out too, people were chasing for the serial arts, Warmonger's was slowly creeping from 30 bucks after that Battle Hardened that happened after release and people realized it was a absolute nuke into Azalea. (Less so now but still strong). If you're going to bring up Supply and Demand, CnC has 37 black border listings, 72 totals cards up for grabs, and 170 copies sold within the last 3 months. This is for one of *the* staples for this game, from set 2, and it's still shockingly avaliable if not expensive. The real numbers to look at though is the white border one, the set we don't know the full print run of. Currently 11 sellers on TCGPlayer with 21 cards currently being listed, and 193 cards being sold within the last 3 months. Maybe because I've play card games at a semi-competitive level for years and I'm staring at multiple markets at all times, but not every set will be opened to high heaven. Staples, and more so "Required Reading" specific for decks to function, will always be somewhat expensive. FaB does a good job making sure that at the very least you can get your foot in the door, 9 times out of 10, with just the main deck majestics and legendary equipment, all one-time purchaces that you then build upon for about 2 years if not more, and because you have a lot of the class cards already, you can expand to more heroes within the class itself more often than not.
@@larv23 That's super insightful, thanks :)
I also heard you can hit that rosetta card (that just has the set logo on one side and the amounts of commons, rares, majestics ect on the other side) as your 1 cold foil in box.
So you could hit a 0 legendary, 4 majestics only, with a non functional cold foil gimmick card and probably quit shortly after or at least never buy boxes again.
What makes this scummier is they seemed to have totally loaded up and rigged the premiere event boxes for hype up and then retail boxes have half the majestic pull rates of uprising, outsiders, dtd, bright lights.
Even mst had better pull rates and i suspect those were front loaded too for extra fomo value.
This game is getting greedy.
You can also hit a common as a cold foil in your box which is essentially non functional cold foil for most formats and most decks. Like who is playing CF grandstand legplates or w/e from HVY or CF sky blessed kimino or keikoi or w/e from MST.
Your accusation that they intentionally loaded the premiere is quite a strong one that I would be careful about saying without some strong indication. That would also be a dumb move business wise I think. All will be revealed very soon when the major singles sellers open 100+ cases each as single sources and compile their pull rates. We will have a good idea then. But for now I would be very careful to make these kind of judgements without more data.
@@russellswashbucklerI know that LSS knew for example that the Rosetta Thorn Marvel is so rare they feared none would get opened at the world primere. I don't think they "loaded" these cases, that would be quite the logistical act to do. There were just a lot of boosters, boxes and cases opened in Tampa that is why so many people had a lot of nice stuff 😅
@@russellswashbuckler no man, i am not made of money, and rose tinted glasses are off. We are well past the honeymoon phase of this tcg and marketing has been getting worse overall.
I stand by my suspicions, and the mere baseline fact is that whole cases can be swingy.
I dont consider cold foil commons nonfunctional. That sucks also but hitting that rosetta logo card is a whole new tier of crappy cold foil because its non functional to the game itself. At least cold foil commons could have their day to shine in commoner format.
@@hamsandwich6685 I am not made of money either and don't have rose tinted glasses I don't think. I am a newer player and don't have nostalgia blinders on. Plus the game is only 5 years old anyways. I have only felt like things have been going upwards not downwards since I joined about a year ago. I don't play any other tcgs currently cause there isn't one that's as engaging as FaB. I also don't expect to get specific cards out of sealed product. I'm sure LSS spends a ton of time projecting what the average box will be worth compared to MSRP. Do I wish certain cards in Fab were cheaper? Yes, plenty of them. Do I love opening cool looking cards and rare cards? Of course I do as much as the next person! But, at their core, TCGs involve a decent amount of variance/gambling/risk whatever you want to call it. Opening sealed product is always a gamble. If you want to buy packs/boxes/cases to try to hit big cold foils, that's great, but you have to admit that that's a luxury purchase. If LSS wants to them so rare that they guarantee that every cold foil is $10k+ on the open market and that most boxes have 0 foils at all, honestly that's their prerogative when it comes to purely cosmetic treatments of cards (though it would probably be a bad business move). I'm glad they don't and that generally you can get pretty looking cards for not that much. But as long as no game pieces are gatekept by this (though I would argue there are a couple that are (CnC being the worst of them) but that's a whole other argument), then I don't see an issue. I have not found anyone or seen any boxes of Rosetta so far that would seem to imply that the rates of rares and foils and such is different from what LSS publishes on their website which has been the same or nearly the same for at least the last 4-5 sets. I think you're overreacting a bit here. Not to mention the fact that there's a definite confirmation bias to hearing about amazing pulls. You're mostly going to hear from people that pulled something really cool or had a crazy box or case that they opened. Or you'll hear from the couple people that opened an underwhelming case. You're not going to hear from the hundreds of people that opened exactly on rate boxes.
In our Amsterdam area pulls have been great. My 1 box had like 9 M and 1L, and there's multiple people in the group with the fabled, one guy pulling 2 in his 2 cases. I've got double the value off this single box than I did with me 2 MST boxes.
