- My old Series III Jaguar XJ6 with a LS1/T700 conversion. Brand new crate motor imported from the USA in '01. Originally destined for a Camaro, according to engine number data. Conversion done by a garage in Brighton, Victoria, Australia. Many tens of thousands spent by an elderly gentleman who died before he got to enjoy it. Deceased estate, sold at a fraction of the build cost.
Since sold to pay off uni debt. I believe the car now resides on the Sunshine Coast.
Other Mods:
- V12 LSD
- Strengthened T700 from a VP 304
- Custom fabricated extractors
- LS1 edit
- Yella Terra roller rockers
She was an awesome reliable cruiser. A real sleeper when it had rear resonators ;)
I never ran a 1/4 in it, however I have heard of lightly modified LS powered S1-3 XJs running mid to low 13s complete with factory picnic tables in the back... The XJ really does get the power down well thanks to it's rear end design.
It was a joy to drive combining great acceleration (not seen in I6 or V12 form) with the awesome highway cruising capabilities these cars are renowned for. The best of both worlds!
hi, I'm half way doing the same to my 1985 series 3. just wondering how all your electrics went. i got all my conversion mounts , sump comaro, and auto crossmember from jaguar specialists in nervada USA. any info will be much appreciated . roberthawkins327@yahoo.com.au your car is really nicly done
Very nice. Im guessing as this car was a VP and something has been removed on the boot, that original engine was a V12.
Sounds great. No ride?
So sad that he didn't survive to see the work. It sounds like a Jag SHOULD sound. Someone has got a great car.
this is beautiful, I hope I can do the same to my series 3 one day
that is one nice car
Yes please, a step by step build thread- or was this done at a mechanics?
Very cool mate hope to do something like this to mine down the track with a ls2/3 what revs are you doing at 100kph? And what diff ratio do you run mate?
hey mate, nice work. What did you do in terms of headers? I heard this is one of the biggest challenges.
did you put a straight pipe?
Do you have a build thread on your vehicle mate?
