KTF 2015 Burn 5-2 Quad 1 (First Five Minutes)

DescriptiBurn 5-2 was done to demonstrate the effects on pre-treating an area with water. A total of 8 gallons of water was applied to the four walls and ceiling prior to placing the fuel load in the room (couch). This video shows the first three minutes of the burn once ignition took place. The initial knockdown utilized 3 gallons of water. The second hit on the fire used 12 gallons of water. There was extension into the attic which required the use of the fog nail extinguishing device that had been placed in the roof. The fog nail flowed 12 gallons of water into the attic. The fire required 21 gallons of water for interior overhaul. Once outside the couch continued to burn and required an additional 10 gallons of water to fully extinguish it. A total of 58 gallons of water was utilized to totally extinguish the fire.
