I hope everyone someday has an opportunity to stand under the bridge and watch a thousand footer cruise by. And to hear the ship and bridge operator salute each other, wow!
Delightful. Scary too. One thinks of the Fitzgerald in weather like this. Listening to the car radio leaving Mille Lacs when the Fitz disappeared, that cold and windy November day of the '70s, way back when. Something rarely heard, the actual sounds of the engine ramping up. Most of the videos out here either have music over them, the engines are ramped up too far away to be heard, or the camera person is too far away to hear the engines. Hearing that rumble and the shriek of the turbo with the propeller churning the water? That was music to my ears. Bet it's more more awesome in person.
