Ezzu _ from what I can tell western peanut butter doesn’t really exist in Japan unless you get it from a super big supermarket in one of the main cities that deal with foreign goods. Japanese really don’t like western peanut butter, instead they have something called “peanut cream” which is disgusting btw. It’s just peanuts mixed with sugar. Imagine powdered peanuts mixed with icing sugar and that’s a good approximation of Japanese peanut butter. Not a fan. If you ever go to Japan and you crave peanut butter you’d better have brought your own.
That fermented daikon radish was my downfall as a toddler when I OD'd eating a whole jar. My grandmother found me passed out on the kitchen table when I was about 2 years old with a stomach ache from eating way too many of those pickles. I have an addiction to them.

I would basically fast till as long as I can till about 3-4 pm (there was once I hit a 6 pm record, but it was the summer and I did nothing but hang out at Tower Records listening to records) and head to Yayoiken and eat 6 bowls of rice or something. It's immensely fulfilling for a mere 590 yen. The meal will last you an entire day. Comes with free cold unlimited green tea, pickles and miso soup too. It gets pretty packed during rush hours, but at other times, you can sit there as long as you wish without anyone bothering you, which basically means you can eat as much rice as you like. Some of these branches (like the one in Ginza, several in Shinjuku) are open 24 hours!!!!! That's insanely awesome.

I love seeing you visit places I’ve been to. I was so excited in that daiso that I spent more than I should have. Their mochi is the best value. And they also had barbecued dango- best I’ve ever tasted for 100 yen and the had single serve cup size noodles in cute tiny packs. I got a whole heap as gifts
