🌪️ the thing is with Cody and AEW is that he was trying to be unintentionally a WWE good guy in AEW world. They had a lot of good wrestlers on there and Cody really didn’t have anywhere to go and unfortunately I think what happened was that the crowd just kinda got tired because they’re just not used to that or what they were looking for. For the way, Cody is as a good guy fits the WWE. That’s also why I think some WWE superstars would not fit in the world of AEW. Fortunately, right now, most of the people that I have gone into AEW are flexible, character, wise that they fit in the world of AEW
It was def something about being a good guy. I remember watching the old backstage show they had on TNT, and I think it's the episode where Cody tells TK "he may have to go away for a little." This led me to believe he was going to WWE, but was going to come back to AEW even bigger. Also, *I think* that's also the episode where they show footage from after like Dynamite, an Cody and TK and others are in the ring, and TK like 'welcomes' Cody and the fans boo. Cody literally tells the crowd "the cameras are off" an may even have said something like "the cameras are off, you don't have to boo." So he like gives the crowd another shot, or maybe TK re-introduces him, and they booed again. I swear, I think he made his decision that night. Yes, that's just my speculation and I could be totally wrong. Not sure Cody would admit it, if true. Not because he's a bad person, but if it was true, some people may run a certain way with it, and we all know we have to control our narrative (jk). Then, he shows up in WWE like a savior? He got exactly what he wanted. I didn't think he was going to be as loved as he is, but glad I'm wrong. Maybe I'm wrong about why he left, but you can't say it wouldn't make sense..
@@GianniBoi23 it’s just one of those things where the person didn’t fit quite where they were. I’m sure a lot of people love Cody but just the way he was presenting himself kind of like how John Cena was in WWE. In general, he’s a decent guy, but just for some reason, the personality didn’t quite click with the crowd and that happens in wrestling a lot every once in a while, you’ll have someone who is a good person, but it just really just doesn’t come across in case of John Cena with the crowd worked to his favor in the end
I think Cody's gimmick to not challenge for a world title again was a big factor for why he got booed in AEW.
Could have been a lot better if it wasn't said but maybe implied or said indirectly because they could have told a story with him either gaining the confidence or whatever needed for him to either be able to challenge for it or actually win it. Mox and Daniel Byran were nice to have with Punk, but Cody and Punk for the AEW title? Why just throw that away because you said you wouldn't challenge for the title again? Put themselves in a bit of a box.
I wish you would replace Sidge on the reviews. You get it that wrestling is entertaining and not just the in-ring bouts
Him telling the AEW fans "I will not turn!" made things worse; Cena said the exact same thing to WWE fans in 2012...
I remember last year when he lost to Roman people were actually dumb enough to say he should’ve never left aew lol. He just mainevented the biggest show of the year and had won the royal rumble a few months before. And people were dumb enough to think he was in a better position as the king of the midcard getting booed out of buildings in aew. Some people shouldn’t have social media.
How much longer does Cody hang on to the title tho? I think it's gonna go past the next Wrestlemania, at the least....
My ADR meter is off the charts. Not sure why, but it’s strange…
Why did you put a picture of Fuego Number 2, Son of Fuego up there when you were talking about Cody? Also, I don't remember Cody tagging with Fuego del Sol.
🌪️ the only comparison I can come up with is if John Cena were to go wrestling in AEW it doesn’t fit. He’s not the type of superstar that fits in the world of AEW. Maybe there was a time that Cody could have but he is much more of a WWE world, kind of superstar
Immediately seen the title and thought “the hell is this”😑
Why has all the intro's been cut on these video's?
My only problem with AEW is that we teased Cody vs Sting but never got a payoff.
Cody didn’t want to wrestle sting
@@Nick-1990 They implied...
I think they never figured who would win the match. They wanted sting to remain undefeated but it won't reflect good on the company if a 60 year old guy defeated a 30 year old clean as a whistle.
I quite wrestling 7 years ago so I didn't see AEW Cody but WWE Cody and Roman brought me back and im happy to love wrestling again.
Simon said “nobodys even talking about stardust.” While talking about stardust

Fuego 2 was awesome
Across the Codyverse 🕸️
Glorious
I assume the bruises are from wrestling, but I'm going to pretend it's hickeys and Simon making out just before he shot this.
Comments for the comment gods
Why does this talking point seems like trying to defend DM point about that there's no heels or baby faces...
First!
I do think before Cody's wwe run ends he will have a one off as stardust. Something like Cody is suspended and he comes out an attacks as stardust but I think he will do it once
The truth being he never had any loyalty to AEW.
Cody is for the kids.
I do not care one bit about Chris Jericho anymore because im fairly certain hes one of the reasons cody left the company that wouldnt exist without him
*Puts tin foil hat on*
Jericho did many interviews at the start of aew and he alluded to having some degree of creative control so i think he pulled a "that doesnt work for me brother" to Tony when it came time to put cody over
*Takes tin foil hat off* 😂
jericho just loves easy money with minimal work. tony needs to read the room and take him off.
@@EmberMcLain87Will Chris Jericho is a aging veteran and what's wrong with doing less work for more money. Chris Jericho's the same person who is also willing to put over other talent unlock hulk Hogan.
Your Jericho issues is clouding your judgement. The Elite did all of their own booking (still do) and everybody else's for the 1st year, they all were actively avoiding the title picture to put the company over 1st, TK trusted Cody knew what he was doing with that stipulation and it was already set that Mox was the one to beat Chris.....
Ask yourself this, if Jericho had Hogan level pull, why hasn't he been anywhere near the world title since 2020? Hogan definitely wouldn't be FTW champion and building up Hook. Truth be told Cody fucked up his own booking, always going a step too far and in WWE that isn't possible due to how they're structured.
We know who had Hogan level pull over in AEW at a point and what that guy did with it once his toes got stepped on.
Not everything is a “verse”
Couldn't care less
yet here you are, engaging with the video
