- It has been a long time since we had the Unders at Emmen but WOA!! They provided some of the best action this year. For the first time ever Emmen hosted the FWD bangers as well. With a nice mix of Mondeo's and other stuff it was a proper day of crashing and racing!
What is Banger Racing?
Banger racing is a tarmac, dirt, shale and chalk track type of motorsport event popular in countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands. Old scrap vehicles are raced against one another, with the winner being the first to the checkered flag after a set number of laps. Contact to damage an opponent's car is permitted and encouraged within the formula, with cars progressively becoming more damaged throughout an event. Races are held at an oval or tri-oval circuits that are up to 1⁄4 mile (440 yd; 400 m) long; however, on certain occasions, races are held in a figure of eight configurations. Banger racing is often confused with stock car racing, although there are differences between the two, despite often racing at the same tracks. Banger racing is also often confused with Nascar.

I remember seeing banger racing videos back in 2011 and I’m still glad they do these events, it’s always funny to see how beat up these old cars can tank.

Nou ja, dat wordt inderdaad ook wel eens gedacht over andere modellen auto's.
En toch zie ze elke keer weer verschijnen met modellen, waarvan iedereen dacht dat ze nooit meer terug zouden komen.

These races are incredible fun, however I'm getting the feeling things are becoming a little bit dangerous, I know its ridiculous but stay safe. Loving the action!
Although the safety rules are improved over the years so did the speed. If they becone even quicker we will see some injuries i think. Lets hope it won't be serious..

@@AutorodeoNederland this car wasn't suitable for bangerracing I think. I saw it in the pits after the crash (the blue hearse), basicelly it was a just a frame with mostly a fiberglas body.
@@rene3054 i agree, they asked if they could add topbar etc but werent allowed to add some extra strength. It was a one time thing kevin told me. Never want to race a car like this again haha

Was there a red Ford statues in the fwd stuff? Man some of those hits where very close to someone getting hurt for sure.
It was a ford taurus. One was very close the rest was alright.
@@AutorodeoNederland thanks. Many bursts show up at these events it seems. That very old black car really got messed up and the owner really jacked that front cushion up very high which seemed to be the cause of his roll both times.
@@ckosacranoid the car was a mess in the end there were parts from more than 5 different cars in there to get it rolling
@@AutorodeoNederland looked like a bunch of different parts where used to give it one last way to drive. Talk about going out in a blaze of glory though when the rear Alex ripped off.

Nou weet ik wel dat er wrakken mee doen in zulke races, maar de #175 was wel echt helemaal rot of gemaakt van karton. Dat ding vouwde helemaal dubbel.

They care more about the crash overhere than about racing. If they have the opportunity to hit a car full speed they take it.
