That’s not the real sprint mode. On models equipped with that, it would also put you into sport mode and show the word “Sprint” in the cluster. What you showed is just dropping to the lowest possible gear, which BMWs (and lots of other cars) have done for a long time now.

Correct. Also it will change the driving mode to sports and when you pull back in right paddle revert back to previous drive mode.
