- On August 16, 2022 in Florida, officers responded to a call regarding a man who had walked out on his tab at a local restaurant. After a search of the immediate area, the man was located. When confronted about the alleged theft, the man claimed to have been kicked out of the restaurant. This is body-cam footage of the events that followed.
Footage on Body Cam Watch is for educational purposes only. All information has been supplied by local law enforcement agencies and is considered by law to be public information. The subjects in these videos are to be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Yup. I love my bro, but once he insisted we skip out on our bill (we were seated outside and I joked to him how easy it would be to dine and dash.) I didn't feel great about it, but since he just went for it, I went along. We walked around the block and I again insisted we not cross in front of that same restaurant we dashed from. Well, het got his karma, because he was instantly spotted and got manhandled by our waiter. All I could do was walk together while they dragged him by the collar back to the restaurant. We paid the bill and didn't go to jail, but we for sure were humiliated that night.

I remember one time my mom came home with the week's worth of groceries. She had to go back to the store right away because she had forgotten her checkbook. She said she would leave the groceries at the store, but they let her take them home before things warmed up.
Even more amazing was when I mailed my paycheck to my bank, the one branch of which was in another city, a few days before I wrote a cheque for my rent. (I was in college.) The rent cheque was processed before my paycheck was, so it should have bounced. My dad also had an account there, and the bank called him to let him know what happened. He assured them he would drop by after work and cover my check. A few hours later the bank got to my check, so they called my dad back. That would never happen today. No bank is going to pass up a insufficient funds fee of $50 these days.

I'm a former prosecutor. I never understood what a con man was until I worked in felony court. A guy like this gets put in jail and is facing serious charges. He thinks if he can only tell his side of the story to the defense attorney (doesn't buy it), prosecutor (really doesn't buy it), the judge (definitely doesn't buy it), and against his attorney's advice, he thinks if he can tell the jury what happened, then he will get out of it. They usually don't. These guys are their own worst enemy.

They have the false confidence to be able to fool judges and juries because they've done it so often to regular people who don't know who they were. Too many smart people in the court room for that to happen. I'm pretty sure they lie to their attorneys as well.
I truly hope you were a prosecutor that actually did your job because I truly get sick of seeing judges and state prosecutors that continuously drop charges and reduce charges when the case is solid. Nothing more annoying on the law enforcement side of dealing with these shitbags day in and day out and doing everything by the book and then see all charges get either dismissed or reduced to a slap on the wrist. I understand that some people deserve mercy because they just made a bad decision and are truly sorry for what they did but I just can't stand the career losers that rarely ever get time.
