I am new to your channel and have been so impressed by your humble personality and fantastic musicality! I really admire the consistency and determination in practice that serious technical players seem to have in common. I am going to sign up for your course and work toward being more disciplined in my own practice sessions!
I’m going to leave this here because I think it will help people a lot as it helped me improve my technique dramatically and to be able to spot and correct inconsistencies on the spot. Practice in front of a mirror. It also will help separate your mind from the mechanics of picking and over thinking it...because what you see is the opposite of what you’re doing, if you think too hard about it you’ll mess up. Give it a go.
I recently watched your “who is Bernth episode” and I must say I was super impressed by your accomplishments. It might be a long shot but I would love to see you on an acoustic guitar. Is there any chance we can get an acoustic lesson?
One of those abstract concepts that I always could feel was not quite right, but I could never put words to it and work to correct it. Super helpful lesson, as always. Thanks again Bernth
Er ist einfach der König aller Gitarrenlehrer! Verstehe kein Wort Englisch aber er hilft mir weiter wie noch keiner bisher🤣 nen einschaltbarer deutscher Untertitel wäre klasse!
Wow this lesson just fixed something that I have not been able to nail down for thirty years. I can’t thank you enough for bringing a whole new level of enjoyment to my playing experience 🙏
I was hoping for a tutorial on how to position my picking hand rather than just exercises. It seems like that is the real key - the golden ratio you spoke of.
You have the best exercises that i have ever seen,so glad I discovered your channel man. And congratulations for 100k,i hope you will grow far more than that, keep up the great work!!
I lowered the action on my new Ibanez RG today (I was nervous because it has a floating tremolo) and it now feels like I'm playing a $1,000+ professional guitar. Instantly improved my playing
wow..i'm ecstatic there's someone else out there who understands the golden ratio...i've been incorporating this for some time now & it's elevated my playing considerably.
Dude I was working specifically on this concept, I was able to catch myself due to a previous video u had about playing in front of a mirror. It has help me tremendously. Thank u so much for all ur help and critical info😊
What a great video.. It will be great if you make a video about your learning process, how do you approach new licks, new songs or concepts.. Thanks for everything, definitely one of the best guitar channel out there
Thx so much bernth, i try practice this 5 days and improve my picking technique Not become lot faster but become more accurate and relax I hope someday i can become your patron 🙏
that guitar is the most beautiful thing on hearth :) and great video, love these exercises as they really sound good and are more fun to repeat, I am not the most consistent with exercises so need to have fun with them. cheers for your videos really like they are short, direct and the tabs practice after
Thank you for this video lesson. I can only pick downwards and have been frustrated trying to find lessons on picking. Now I can practice and use this video. Can you please do a video on the "right hand" position for picking too, please? Thank you so much and please stay safe.
How much do you typically anchor the inside of your right wrist to the guitar? Do you slide it a little...or do you try to always keep it in one place and stretch the skin a bit, as needed?
What have I learned today? That my picking technique is actually pretty consistent across the board but the last sweep pick gets me every time! I tense up and get flustered. True sweep picking has never been my strong point but I'm looking to change that. 👍
Hey bernth, can you do string skipping exercises? Been enjoying your course btw. I'm still at chapter 1 as i struggle with rhythm. I can pretty much play fast but i have timing issues lol. Thanks for the lessons an technique btw.
Should focus on one because it's basically 2 different ways to do nearly the same thing. I would personally go for economy picking because it's more effective as it utilizes the same directions you are moving to...
Really cool! Bernth, do you recommend learning all the picking techniques first and then practicing the excercise or can i practice it for the techniques i know and use? :)
@@Bernthguitar one request..i have been playing for more than a decade now and I still lack punch in my downward picking...my pick doesn't seem to pick clearly..Any suggestions ?
I don't think that 45 degree pick angle sounds always good. Watch Tim Henson for example - he uses very small angle and it sounds very exact and twangy. In my opinion the best solution is to learn to play with different angles and adjust it during playing for the expected result or fit it to your style.
Download the tabs, video play-alongs and guitar pro files for this lesson here: www.patreon.com/bernth - happy practicing! :)
So glad I found this bernth

That's my ultimate Achilles heel! I know my picking hand is practically crap. Thanks for the class

Thanks B.Your helping me out with my chops
Always helps to have perfect super low action on your neck for ease of relaxed fretting.

Can we play "Tool" songs using Golden Ratio picking technique? :p
Looks like we can!!!🤘😆
When you play lateralus with golden ratio picking you get enlightment
Can we make tool sound shred ?
theoretically....
Why the fuck would you want to play Tool?

Thnx dude

Why are you so much consistent n how do you cheerup yourself while getting bored playing guitar
I am currently practicing alternate picking, and I want to learn economy also. Should I practice both or focus on one?

Really cool! Bernth, do you recommend learning all the picking techniques first and then practicing the excercise or can i practice it for the techniques i know and use? :)
Awesome
My biggest problem is staying focused on a single measure I always move on before I'm ready
Is that Ibanez made for people to buy? It's dope as hell.
"as you can see, all those techniques looked completely different"
....uh yeah totally....
welp, I know what i gotta work on haha!
Are these techniques included in your "Shred Course" as well or is this something slightly different? Thanks.
what guitar is that?
Can tool shred?
This man made me better at guitar with a jojo reference
I love how you say He/She because anybody can play guitar
Couldn't agree more! Working with so many completely different students over the last years has been very inspiring :)
