Im so grateful that I found your channel yesterday. I just moved into my own home last week and food costs have had me worrying. Your videos have helped me write up a list on a budget and I'm excited to see how it works out for me.
My friend just introduced me to this channel, and I cannot BELIEVE you don’t have a million subscribers already. A good amount of the recipes on your channel can be modified (or already are!) to be health conscious without being boring or expensive. This actually gives me hope- thank you
The milk/water trick for eggs is amazing and something I always do! My grandma was the one who taught me, she even called them “Grammy’s Fluffy Eggs” because when we were little, our mom used to make the driest scrambled eggs and we told our grandma that hers were so much better and felt like “fluffy clouds”
I am a SM at DT. When I saw the Pace enchilada sauce was available to be ordered, I ordered the max I was allowed. It was 12 cases of 12, 144 cans. I bought a can and was pleasantly surprised that I really liked it. I really like it spooned over the the frozen DT burritos and baked then topped with shredded jalapeno cheese. I am buying a few cases to keep as a food storage prep.
I definitely have made your KFC famous bowls in the past and they are great and super easy! My dad who can't eat much actually went back for seconds. One tip for the frozen corn, which I used, was I just added it to the water for the potatoes so you don't have to dirty a second pot. I didn't use the Idahoan preflavored potatoes though, but I imagine it would work the same. And then the corn is already mixed into the potatoes.
Yep or add the canned corn (liquid and all) to the mashed potatoes and the chicken nuggets into the gravy (that way they are kinda coated) Sweet n sour sauce or sweet n spicy sauce also works instead of the gravy. (Or use hamburger instead of the chicken nuggets for more of a Shepard's pie, in which case I'd switch out the corn for either peas and carrots or mixed veggies)
Love these! I know you have made a dessert here and there. But would absolutely love more cheap desserts. I know its not McDonald's. But if you add the rehydrated hashbrowns to the breakfast tacos it stretches them alot further and makes them more filling. Will have to try with the rotel we always use salsa.
Love the no pre-cook prep. Then you can just take it to work and zap it in the micro. Great ideas! I usually cook mashed potatoes, corn, gravy all in the microwave. It keeps the kitchen cooler in summer, and no pots and pans to wash…just bowls.
That's for sure. I know people who say you are not cooking if you take the quick and less stressful route with everything in the kitchen. That you must put in the hard work if you love your family. I tell them I know I'm not a fully homemade cook; I'm a semi-homemade cook. There are plenty of elements of both in the way I cook. There's nothing wrong with shortcuts. That's why they are there. Work smarter, not harder. You save time and money this way. You can be with your family instead of the kitchen cooking and cleaning. You're saving money on not only water by not having a lot of dishes to wash but electricity too by not running the full oven/stove by using the microwave more, stressing out the AC, running the dishwasher every day (I only have to turn it on every other day if I don't handwash cooking this way due to fewer dishes) plus I'm not draining the water heater so much (if I run the dishwasher I have to wait to turn it on after showers are done to allow hot water to build back up; otherwise the showers will be cold) I strive for 30-minute meals with next to nothing cleanup. I can even make bigger meals with the money I save by not having a ton of ingredients to buy to make the same thing which always ends up in smaller portions because of the cost. The larger amounts can make dinner today and lunch for tomorrow, saving money on lunches as well. I have a lot of medical issues, so in and out of the kitchen is the best for me, and it makes me feel good that I can still provide them with a dinner by myself instead of them eating whatever they can do themselves or relying on takeout just because I may not feel well. I live with three men, my husband and two sons, so if it is easy to prepare and clean, they are more willing to help me out with it all as well.
Pro tip on preparing the instant mashed potatoes pour the dry potato flakes into a big mixing bowl and then slowly pour in the boiling water While stirring them then add a lid to it and the retain heat will continue to cook them. Note: I always add a tinny bit of xtra water Because when you rest them in the bowl with the lid on them they continue to cook and they absorb more of the water I also like to add salt pepper and a bit of butter for even better flavor.
You can heat the water in the microwave the slowly and the potatoes to the hot water as well or use the coffee pot for hot water then pour the hot water into the bowl of potatoes like you say here if a stove is not available like in a hotel room
I’m so glad to find your channel. I love your honesty and just how you explain everything. I am about to binge watch all of your videos and can’t wait! Great job
I am EXTREMELY frugal where it comes to my meals and meal prepping...simply because I can meal prep and even though I might not like a taste of a dish, will not allow it to go to waste. This site/channel....is an ABSOLUTE GOLD MINE!!! This channel gives me so many MORE ideas at a possibly cheaper cost than I thought. THANK YOU!....keep these videos coming!
Yesss! My favorite channel! I love that she has a REAL kitchen, using everyday kitchen items - the first time I have felt like I don't have to go out and buy special knives, pots and pans, etc,...
We had the kfc bowls tonight. I always use the instant mash for them as it’s my lil quick meal that I make when I just don’t have it in me to make anything :)
My mom sent me this video as an introduction to your channel. I've been watching a lot of your other videos and just wanted to say thank you. I love saving money on food, but I struggle to get excited about eating things that are cheap. I found a really nice sale on eggs and decided to make a dozen of those breakfast sandwiches. I've had breakfast for me and my partner all week, and it was so easy to make and prepare. Thank you so much! I'm excited to try the breakfast burritos here and many other meals I've found on your channel so far. I feel like I can actually do this and I can eat well and happily on less. Thank you. ❤
I'm so envious of your style of cooking. I've tried in the past to cook like this and it failed. I know it's due to the accident and not being able to follow many steps anymore. I always enjoy these videos as they are simple and feed a person. Sorry I've been MIA! Summer has been bonkers but I'm glad to be back 🙂

I just got home from shopping at the dollar tree and get out my phone and you’re making recipes with the things I just bought! I love their chili. My dollar tree just started selling individually wrapped cornbread muffins too. I highly recommend them. ✌🏼&❤️
Hi Rebecca - you look so cute today! I love these recipes. I'm actually making your biscuit like pizza tonight and I made your cream cheese cherry cheesecake in cupcakes. You are very creative with wonderful cooking instincts.
@@DollarTreeDinners Hi - the pizza was delicious! It rolled out beautifully - letting it rest is the key. We added cooked hamburger, carmelized onions/garlic, fresh tomato slices, olive slices and of course cheese - I cut up four string cheeses 'cos that's what I had and it's mozzarella too, along with a small bit of cheddar. It was so good and the cheesecake cupcakes were outstanding. I used some sweet biscuit crumbs for the base and cut the recipe in half using just 4 oz of cream cheese along with a 1/4 can of $Tree cherry pie filling - so good! Both great recipes! I've been putting the rest of the cherry pie filling in oatmeal for breakfasts. I love making pizza but making that yeast dough takes hours - this recipes is definitely a winner for quick and delicious pizza. Thank you!
I'm addicted to getting McDonalds breakfast on my way to work. I've been doing it for years. The sad thing is, the prices have definitely gone up a lot for my favorite items (breakfast burritos, sausage McMuffin, coffee). I know it's not healthy, but I do it out of convenience. I plan on getting these items you put in the video, but will substitute some of the products for keto tortillas/bread. I'm not a morning person but if I can save money, time, and gas going through the drive-thru, I'll give it a try. Excellent video! I love your channel!
I discovered your channel and it gives me so much inspiration for cheap unique meals. 1 tip to give your breakfast sandwiches more flavor you should toast your muffins before prepping them love the videos!!!!
Those burritos could be enhanced if you have a diced onion or bell pepper ( or any veg in your fridge ) added to your sausage and eggs. It would add a few more healthy vitamins and add more substance to your burritos.
I am honestly excited to try out ALL of these. I am not a huge breakfast fan, but I DO love the MD bfast burrito (also really love their sauce), I do also like an egg mcmuffin from time to time, I def am going to love the TB mock up, and who doesn't love that KFC bowl! I also love how like you are showing "hey guys.. you can make these things at home, and get such a bigger bang for your buck". Kudos!
19 delicious looking meals for 25.00! I go out for lunch and it is close to that! I could eat 19 times!!! I like in particular the enchilada recipe and I will also try the KFC bowl! Good job!
I am literally going to try everything you prepped in today's video 🙂 Those KFC bowls look amazing. I might go ahead and do the biscuits as I'm not a huge fan of English muffins but other than that it looks like you just planned my meal prep for next week 😂 thanks 😂
Love the channel ❤️ i found a pound of ground beef at my dollar tree yesterday in the freezer section 😀 i I was excited to find it and I was going to cook it up tonight and try it 😀 says the only ingredient is beef 70 / 30. If its good i am going to get more for the freezer 😊
How did the ground beef turn out? I live in Canada, and our Dollartrees don't carry much food at all, and there's NO refrigerated or freezer section, but I've always been appalled watching people in the U.S. using beef patties from the DT that contain a huge amount water and seem to cook down to nothing.
I think you are amazing. You make the best stuff. I did the peanut butter, honey, oats desert. I loved them. They are very, very good. I was really supprised. I love your videos and how you have it set up. Thank You so much. God Bless. Hugs, Rebekah
Please keep doing these videos. You have such great ideas for products from the he dollar tree. Those breakfast sandwiches look slamming. Keep the content coming. But still take time for family and yourself.
I have been searching for videos that I haven't seen. I hope that many young people -- just starting out will take this advice to heart. You can use items sometimes cheaper like from Aldi if you have one. Just remember cooking at home always beats the drive through.
I was ❤ SO ❤ Excited ❤to watch this video because A) I no longer go through a drive-thru for a breakfast sandwich/burrito every morning before work since starting my new job (less time/less $$/out of my way), and I am also a BIG fan of the KFC bowls - but the cost is not great, and even the Banquet Big Bowls have *doubled* in price within a few years!! I have to say though- my All-Time FAVE Taco Bell item is the Enchirito 🤩!! Because even though they brought this back for a time, it was so much tinier and taste was not the same! (I know in past videos you said that you have worked for Taco Bell so I know YOU know *exactly* what it should be like! 😊 I just love the fact that you always give alternatives and great tips as far as cooking the food/substit🎉utions. I know by cooking at home more now I will save SO much $$ and extra calories, and that overall kind of *sluggish* feeling I realize I felt from YEARS of so much fast food... This. Is. Amazing. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I have shared your stuff on my FB page, and know you are a HIT there as well! 🎉
Wow thank you, you gave me a great idea, mc ds western omelet mc muffin. I loved those and they discontinued them. Rotel may work great for Mexi melts taco bell discontinued too. You give me great ideas for other recipes too. Thank you. I am going to try yours too. The bread crumbs and fried chicken shake bake works from dt work great for KFC bowls. I made a couple last night one for tonight. Cream of mushroom soup with chicken cube some water to thickness made great gravy for me + seasoning if you ever need a quick gravy. I bet cream of chicken would make a good gravy too.
Happy Belated Birthday!! I have been patiently waiting for your next video. I just discovered the microwavable Spanish rice at my DT and looking forward to trying it. Your videos are a great source of inspiration. Thank you!
Got kinda sorta promoted at work. There are four of us in the home all with very different dietary restrictions and needs. I am going to HAVE to meal prep now in order to break the fast food, convenience food, door dash habits. I will be spending a lot of time here when I am able
I've watched a few of your videos and you've given me so many meal prep ideas! I had to subscribe. Also, I'm from California and I used to work at a Carl's Jr when I was 19! We never sold that kind of sausage on a biscuit though, we had a sausage patty. I'm guessing its a regional thing. My favorite breakfast item from there was the steak and egg breakfast burrito. I think I might meal prep those lol
Love how you wrapped them. Also if you want to omit adding water to the eggs, if you have a bullet or other blender, and blitz the eggs they will turn out amazingly.
Your recipes are the BEST! They're super affordable, taste really good, and satisfying too. I've saved SO much money on food because of this channel, and enjoying everything I've made so far❤
I like to take the pre formed hamburger patties and make Salisbury steak. I just sear them, remove from the pan, sauté up some onions and add brown gravy then put the patties back in to soak in the flavor. Mashed potatoes and corn in the side. It's actually really good and my dad loves it 😊
This is my go-to when I need something fast. Those patties are great for Italian melts, too. Just top with tomato sauce (pasta sauce, tomato soup, etc.) They make great sandwiches!
@@DollarTreeDinners You're very welcome, and I missed the videos that you were missing making! 😊 Ever since I found your channel several months back I haven't been able to get enough of them because I use Dollar Tree as a main grocery resource, and I get so many new ideas from you.
I have a hard time standing for long periods of time.. that last prep might make it into my rotation... I could do the whole thing at the dining room table.
I am so loving your channel! You are such a wonderful helpful person! I use your recipes regularly and though they come from Dollar Tree mostly, they are full of flavor and love!
I love watching your videos for inspiration and budget friendly recipes and you always have very insightful tips and tricks ❤❤❤ my dollar tree sucks on the fresh and frozen food items tho they don’t carry the beef Pattie’s or the cheese and eggs anymore and they only had a small freezer section which was cut in half recently with the addition to the dollar plus items
So I didn't have any chicken nuggets, instant homestyle mashed potatoes or brown gravy mix. However I did have leftover homemade mashed potatoes, fast fixin cube steak with a milk gravy packet (in my freezer). So I took inspiration & found a great quick & easy lunch. I made the milk gravy. Cooked the cube steak in my air fryer. Then layered my cold potatoes, drained whole ker.el corn, milk gravy, cubed steak, & topped with freak value sharp cheddar cheese. Omg it was soooooo good and I had every bit in house. And let's be honest homemade mashed potatoes are 100% better than instant any day of the week. The fast fixin cube steak is very tasty. I bought them to eat cube steak sandwiches with mayo & lettuce. I'm from South Ga so I love my southern food.
I can't wait to try this. It will cost me more due to there being no dollar stores in my city or nearby cities that has a refrigerated and frozen food section and Canada having higher prices than America but hopefully meal prepping these recipes will be cheaper than what I am spending now on food and will help me decrease my high food budget.
Pro tip on mixing the gravy put the dry mix into a bowl and only add 2 or 3 tsp of water to it at a time and mix it into a paste and then slowly pour in the required amount of water this keeps it from being lumpy
I will be making all these recipes for sure. I am thinking about even making them for my dad and grandson too. They could help me put things together. I am so glad and blessed to find you. I adore Mexican food. Could you do more summer salads please. Thanks in advance. God bless you and all here.❤➕ ❤
These looked great! I am totally game to try all of I've enjoyed watching everything you made, and the few things I've tried are excellent. And I freeze them all and eat them later. So I can make for things and I'll take me a month to eat.
love all of these meal idea awesome oh happy belated birthday I just had my birthday on Wednesday thanks for the recipe ideas and love your beautiful smile see you next time sweet friend
To elevate the burritos put some oil in a pan fry on all sides so tortilla is crisp. Had it a long time ago with cheap store burritos and have never been able to eat them unless I fry them crisp.
Have you tried lentils as a taco meat alternative? I feel like you could come up with some great ideas for meat alternatives. Recently seen a black bean burger recipe, it was interesting lol.

I just love the fact that you always give alternatives and great tips as far as cooking the food/substit🎉utions.
I like the way you batch cook easy to reheat especially for a single person!
some great ideas , especially for senior citizens who have limited income !
Happy birthday! I like that you do breakfast and lunches, not just dinners!
These were fantastic meal ideas! I need to look closer at my dollar tree! Thank you
You always do very professional videos and the food looks delicious and simple. Thank you😊
Happy late birthday 🎂
Hope you had a great time off with your family 😊
Thank you!! 😊
That KFC bowl idea is so creative. Love watching, keep up the great work. 😎
We have the smoked sausage here in the south to this day could be regional
these recipes look so good?? especially the enchilada one, the canned chili with refried beans is so genius. love how portable these are as well 🥰
All of these looked delicious! I’m making the kfc bowls for dinner tonight since I have all the ingredients. Happy belated birthday!
Thank you! You’ll love it!
You are the best. Your meals are always so varied that there is something for everyone. Thank you.
Love these meal prep videos, they give such good inspiration!
Glad you like them!
Great video! Your creations using a minimal budget are fantastic! ❤
Just a tip you can fry your eggs in a canning lid just spray so it don't stick.thank you for all you videos
I especially loved your last two recipes! Can’t wait to make the KFC bowls tonight
Update! Made the KFC bowls and they were a big hit. Thanks!
These are BRILLIANT!!! So excited to have these in my arsenal!!!!
Awesome video!! All these meals look delicious, and I can’t wait to make these to stock my freezer. Thank you so much!! Love your channel ♥️
Everything looks so yummy. Can't wait to try this out. I will love having things done ahead of time.
I just found your channel, all of these budget meal preps are amazing!
All of these ideas are awesome! It shows you can still eat great food on a budget. Thank you!! ❤
So glad to have you back! Your time away sounds like it was wonderful. 😊 Loved your idea of butterflying the sausage!
Thanks so much! 😊 I enjoyed the break but I missed making cooking videos, I thought about it everyday haha
@@DollarTreeDinners You're very welcome, and I missed the videos that you were missing making! 😊 Ever since I found your channel several months back I haven't been able to get enough of them because I use Dollar Tree as a main grocery resource, and I get so many new ideas from you.
I truly enjoy you so so much!!! Your delivery is amazing and your recipes appeal to the masses!!! Thank you so very much!!!! ❤
Love your meals. Happy belated birthday. I look forward to your meals.🎈🎂
Thank you..
That's exactly what I needed for my food prep..$25.00 dollars it's amazing..
Yay birthday twin! Happy belated birthday. I love Dollar Tree
This will help me so much, love the fast food inspired ones!!
Those all looked so delicious! And I really appreciate how you show us each step. I want to try all four of these meals! Thank you!!
Great ideas. Generally affordable.
I Love your Creativity so much 🥰
Thanks for making these videos ✨💝
Ok all of these look good and easy to make. I wonder if my dollar tree is stocked like this
I can't wait to try this. It will cost me more due to there being no dollar stores in my city or nearby cities that has a refrigerated and frozen food section and Canada having higher prices than America but hopefully meal prepping these recipes will be cheaper than what I am spending now on food and will help me decrease my high food budget.
THAT KFC BOWL 😮 THE MCDONALDS BREAKFAST BURRITOS 😮 YES I AM YELLING LMAO I AM EXCITED AND MAKING THESE ASAP! ❤
Love when you post.
God bless you and all here.❤➕ ❤
I am so glad to have found your channel. You inspire me. I really enjoy your videos. You're really helping me. Please keep 'em coming!
Thank you so much for this video! As a single mom this will help so much.
Hello I absolutely love this ! I am so happy i found your channel.
That was amazing. I really like the chili and refried bean mixture. Thanks for another great video.
I make these all the time my son likes the one that they do now with the mac and cheese
I thought about making a Mac and cheese version 😊
@@DollarTreeDinners you should try it it's super easy. 😊
I love all these meals and I can’t wait to try them! Thank you so much! Keep ‘em coming!!
PS I LOVE my DT T-shirt and wear it proudly 👍🏻🌹😘💕💃
To elevate the burritos put some oil in a pan fry on all sides so tortilla is crisp. Had it a long time ago with cheap store burritos and have never been able to eat them unless I fry them crisp.
All of it looks delicious! 😋 I bought that taco sauce and love it. Never found it again. On the hunt! Lol.😊
Have you tried lentils as a taco meat alternative? I feel like you could come up with some great ideas for meat alternatives. Recently seen a black bean burger recipe, it was interesting lol.
I have not yet, dollar tree does sell brown lentils, I plan on doing a vegetarian dinner video soon though
You give us great recipes/ideas! Thank you! Blessings!!!
Love your recipes, you're so creative!
