    Absolutely need to throw more on first down!! Defenses know exactly what is coming when you’ve got Najee in the backfield on first. Linebackers are cracking down hard and there’s just no where to go. Cordarelle is a significant pass threat which is keeping the LBs on their toes, keeping lanes open a bit longer.

    You're absolutely right about the differences between Najee and Cordarrelle Paterson. It's like night and day. Jaylen Warren (when he's healthy), also finds ways to get extra yards like Paterson. Najee runs hard, but he is downhill or bust. Most of the time its bust.

  • @SteelSoosh
    @SteelSoosh 10 часов назад

    Yes! Air it out a bit, to set up the run. Position GP and TA to get open, then we also have Justin's legs, Muth, and Mt. Washington. That should produce enough points.

      Do they not game plan for situations where the starter QB goes down? When Flacco came in, that defense needed a new gameplan. They were using same game plan with Flacco. He's a totally different QB. They needed to get him out of pocket on the run on those 38 year old legs. He's not a mobile QB.

    • @ChrisB7102
      @ChrisB7102 8 часов назад

      @@y2kelly66 They have roughly 7 hours of actual practice throughout the week, from my understanding. I think getting game plans in for 2 different QBs is close to impossible.
      But to your point, there damn well needs to be a contingency

  • @CMBTSports
    @CMBTSports 9 часов назад

    High school QB coach here (not a huge brag, obviously). I agree. Just throw the ball. We need more chunk yardage and Fields is clearly our best overall guy on offense right now. Give him 30-35 attempts a game. It’s okay to throw some interceptions! We need to take more risks. No risk it, no biscuit. Ben, Favre, Brady all are considered great and threw many interceptions. It’s going to happen if you throw a lot. I trust Fields. It’s time we all start trusting Fields. But, he also needs to be better at throwing the ball away. That will come with time and maturity. That run backwards fumble was just trying too hard. The opposing teams expect the run and are growing too comfortable stacking the box. Punish them. Single safety with tight corners should be a deep push almost every time. The run game will get better as the defense leans back, expecting pass. It goes both ways. Out-strategy the other team, keep them confused and surprised. We’ll be decimating people. Fields can sling that thing. He’s legit. Consider this: Fields’ ceiling is throwing like Herbert and running maybe better than Lamar. Imagine that!

    • @StraightRocketFuel

      I swear I’m not a Najee apologist but Alex Kozora has a good break down of last weeks film and defenses are just playing Najee different because it’s SO OBVIOUS we’re running. It’s exactly what DK is saying - we need to throw more, - and this is me - ESPECIALLY when Naj is on the field. Linebackers have to be worried about the pass so they aren’t jamming all the holes immediately. Just watch Alex’s tape breakdown and tell me Najee had somewhere to go on those plays.

Go watch film break down, he's not as much at fault as most think. For instance they always say CP doesn't have an issue. One such person broke down a play they both ran, same play CP broke it because the line did their job, same play for Naj, blown blocking assignment, nothing. Jeez!!!

    2 remakes: 1. Seems to me on a very high % of the time when we play a team with a terrible run defense it’s like we are playing 12 mean joe greens out there and can’t run a damn thing.
    2. Or another typical game when the team has a bad run defense they run 10 times on the day and Justin will pass the ball 45 times and our coaches will keep him from scrambling… that is my opinion what are your thoughts?

    Sorry Van catches strays that should go toward Smith & the front office for assembling a WR room that has the least separation per route in the NFL by A LOT, & Pickens's separation metric is good, so imagine how bad the others are?

    It’s really getting redundant Dk is the only one who wants to blame Najee for everything no criticism of the oline no criticism of blocking scheme no notice of Najee playing A tremendous amount of snaps with Jaylen out Cordell comes in A few snaps after Najee soften things up yes he’s faster but who’s really thinking 100% run if Najees not in so no there’s no defense that plays A 2nd string or 3rd string back the same as the 1st string back to think Najee isn’t trying his best every time he gets the ball is crazy he runs angry every time he gets the ball is he the fastest back in the world no is he the shiftiest no but you can’t question his effort and toughness like the other guy said scheme up some real blocking to get him some space this is A team thing not A Najee thing trust no one on the other team wants to see Najee break free he is keyed on whenever he’s in the backfield the other teams can smell it coming we have to get more creative with running schemes Najee is not Derrick Henry he doesn’t have the speed for quick cuts so the OC needs to play to his strengths get him in space make that cb or undersized LB have to make that tackle right now he’s being gang tackled every play nowhere to go it’s definitely not all of his fault his weakness is speed so get him space

    I am not going to bash Najee. For the simple fact, the steelers make him look so predictable 9 times out of 10, he's gonna go straight up the middle. What do you think a defense is going to do? You put CP84 or Jaylen in. It's totally different for them.The defense doesn't crowd the box.
    Create some different stuff for Najee. And again, the hardest runner is always available.
    The offense of line needs to do a better job at opening up the holes better blocking.
