If you spin two masses about a point in a plane, the gravity will change out in the plane as a function of time. There had better be a wave. The only question would be the velocity of propagation. A good guess would be speed of light. Duh. It doesn't take Einstein to figure that out.
Hendry predicted (on TED) that it would be 6 months and gravitational waves would be detected. Cool!
