    Love the story about the "happy accident" with the little tornado that knocked his work into the sand. Great painter and teacher, this guy.

    Love his work! I was surprised when he said he had built up a sensitivity to oils and changed to water mixable oils. I use to oil paint as well and had to give it up due to headaches. I miss oil painting a lot. I've never tried water mixable oils, maybe I will.

    are you saying you washed an oil painting with water? I am just trying to learn how to paint and I'm using oils and acrylics as well as water colour and each one is enjoyable but sometimes a struggle when I have a problem.....like a painting falling over or getting hair on it....I am wondering also about the walnut oil, I only know about linseed oil....turps really stinks and gets quickly polluted with colour and I don't know how to get rid of it and it worries me that it has actually eaten through some of my brushes......acrylics are a lot cleaner and less smelly....do you address these beginner problems in a dvd? thanks for the video, I really enjoyed your easy attitude and way of talking.

    Graeme, I love watching your videos, and am glad to see Richard Robinson here, as well! I had a question - was Richard painting on canvas? It looks like a sheet of watercolor paper, in the video - just curious!

      Canvas sheet, you can buy pads of canvas sheets at most supply shops, at least here in the USA.

      Hi Robert yes he was painting on canvas

    • @jimmoyer7312
      @jimmoyer7312 9 лет назад

      Yes on canvas, the painting is enclosed within a taped off area which is removed when done than stretched on stretcher bars. Also the board stops the sun from glaring in from the back.

    What does he mean, "I built up a sensitivity to standard oils"?

    • @ColourinyourlifeAu
      @ColourinyourlifeAu  8 лет назад

      +John Smith Sometimes the amount of cadmium in the paints can affect your immune systems and cause other problems, so there are some paints that are not so toxic
