- Sapporo is known for its rich, miso ramen and in todays video we venture around the city to find our favourite! We try 3 different styles at 3 different restaurants and there is surprisingly quite a big difference between them. We did have to include an honourable mention to Haruka Ramen (the ramen we enjoyed in previous vlog) as it was overall our favourite in all of Hokkaido.

FYI the vinegar soy mix you put in your ramen is actually dipping sauce for the gyoza 😆It says so on the bottle. But fun vid, glad you enjoyed the ramens!! 🙂

In terms of ramen consumption, Yamagata City in Yamagata Prefecture ranks first in Japan, and there are many ramen shops that rival Sapporo's ramen shops. If there is a chance.

Mid-June would be the best season to visit Yamagata City.

Why is the egg in the first shop so overcooked though?
That is a great question! We have no idea why it was so overcooked but it wasn't pleasant (dry and chalky)🤷🏻♀️

I live in Scotland and it’s cold here and I may just go make some chicken noodle soups as these look fab and it will definitely keep you warm eating these when out in such cold 🥶
Even the music in second place sounded good and the bowls looked very fresh compared to you first bowls
It's totally ok to consume all broth. Many Japanese don't do it just because they feel guilty finishing up a bowl of fatty and salty ramen.

love your food vlogs. I havent not tried this type if miso ramen but i must one day it looks very nice with butter. this city looks cold also what was the degrees of it?
Thank you! Yes, definitely try miso ramen if you get the chance - it's fantastic. Sapporo was absolutely freezing (we filmed this in March), I think the day temperature was around 6 degrees celsius, late evening it dropped down to 0 or just below 🥶
