"Your reign of terror is over Egg, now hand over the Gourd of Pog." "You may have defeated my army of Egg Heads Batman, but I wonder how you will fare against my beloved pets. Tomohawk, Ryukaman, send em!" (Two Saber Tooth Tigers appear from off screen)

I love it when 1200s are like hey theory says this opening variation says +/- for me... great so you play like a GM 12 moves in and then on the 13th move you make a 1200+ move... and you've just let your kingside go and mate to follow in a couple...
Honestly, I've got no words to express how good this was. Easily one of the best videos on RUclips in my book. And even though you ended on a cliffhanger, pleeeeease put the game you played afterwards on here. Or, to be fair, I'll just go and dig it out of Twitch. Seriously great stuff. See you in the next one 👋🏻
Mr. Rozman's eye-rolling gesture a few seconds after 15:08 following the perspicacity demonstrated by Mr. LeTourneau's use of the word "contiguous" is priceless. - j q t -
This was a great video! Videoing a chess lesson - such a great idea. It also improved my opinion of Rozman quite a bit. I already liked him - but now I like him even more because he checks his sometimes sarcastic humor and snarkiness at the door when he is working with a student. That makes for very entertaining Twitch streaming, but when you're one-on-one with a student, you have to throttle it back a bit. I also have to hand it to this student. He seems very comfortable working with Levy. I think I would be intimidated just knowing that my instructor is so brilliant that I would be continually haunted by the notion that he adversely judging everything I do and every thought I have. But that would be MY problem. Northernlion clearly does not have this problem. This is a good example of how it takes TWO to have a productive chess lesson. Obviously, you have to have a talented instructor but you also have to have a receptive student. Not all accomplished chess players, even some Grandmasters, are good instructors. Levy is, however! Thanks for uploading this. I really enjoyed watching the interaction.
That's the beauty of chess. There are literally billions of ways of doing things. Even if not hanging your queen is the correct thing to do in 99% of cases, there is still the 1%; which equates to many many thousands of better moves! Botez is a beautiful player, one of my favourites!
Thank you so much for doing this! Fantastic to hear chess strategy explained at a level above what I'd be able to think of myself, but not so high that it goes over my head. NL is such a fantastic content creator, and I'm glad he finally decided to branch out into chess after talking about how he used to play a lot as a kid. Seems he's really enjoying playing again, and all the viewers seem to love it.

I love this pairing, I found you because NL reinvigorated my interest in chess. You became one of my favorites to watch since then. You should definitely try and do more with him, for my sake.
Yeah as a 1450 level player this is the type of shit that I love and keeping this in my mind helps tremendously. What are the types of things I should be thinking about when trying to find the best move? Videos like this help answer that question.
My biggest problem is the old saying “tactics is knowing what to do when there is something to do, strategy is knowing what to do when there is nothing to do.” That’s why I dig these types of videos. Levy isn’t telling him, “okay let’s learn tactics.” He’s pointing out why the move he made to improve his piece is good. Or why a seemingly logical move is bad. “Because it’s slow,” is an answer to a strategic problem, not a tactical one. But the “find your worst piece and improve it” is a piece of advice I need to think about more often.
@@moses4203 yeah I have the same problem in fast time controls. I can play an excellent game for two minutes and then lose because Im playing too slowly.
