    I think longer time-format would suit this better, less presure on the (lower-rated) player to make move and for Levy to recover after taking over....also Levy commenting immediately after move is made makes this more fun...oh, no... :)

      Don't need a longer time. Need a player who makes moves instantly without thinking instead of running down the clock all the way thinking through everything in the first 5 moves of the game.

    • @iBigMacPT
      @iBigMacPT 3 года назад +13

      Longer time defeats the purpose of the series, the goal is to put pressure on the lower rated player to make moves even if they’re not ready which will make it even harder for Levy to recover… otherwise they’ll just probably always get a fair position and that’s not any different from a regular chess game.

    I wasn't sure about this series to start with, but the great post-game analysis along with the idea works on dual points, because they make mistakes you wouldn't and then you take over which helps us learn how to recover from a weakened position too. Also helps Northern Lion has a similar rating to me :P You the man Levy, keep rolling out the content!

    At 38:16 you could have played Qxe2 instead of Qxf2 after Rd2 you have Bxf2 with a queen trade and after Qxh6 you have Qxf2 and Qg1 with mate

    My 2 cents: 20 moves or 1 min remaining (or some other set time constraint), then take over. Everyone seemed uncomfortable/frustrated when the guest went past the 1 min mark.

  • @NoobVexyPoo

    I believe that at 38:18 you could have done Qxe2 and if they blundered by going Qxh6 you go Qxf2+ and when they play Kh1 you go Qg1#. But lets say when you take the bishop on e2 they go something like Kg2 then you just move your queen back to e3 but now you're up a bishop.

    hey levi love this series, I dont play chess or watch any other content creators beside you but i usually get lost on the move count, not that it matters most of the time but for elo swap kinda matters if ur going in soon or not. So im asking if u can to add a move count till 20 at least , ty for all the content :D

    THIS is the future of this series:) loved the higher level play. the time was tough, but i play 10 min so i, like NL, would 100% put you in time trouble.
    I definitely think that the 1500 range is where this series should sit. 1000 games are too swingy and there is too much skill gap, but anything higher than 15 and opponents just dont make mistakes when up. Looking forward to another banger series :)

    This was a really fun one. I'm not too far off NL's skill level, so it was a lot of fun to see how things changed when you took over as well as the analysis was very instructive for me. Being forced to fish for a draw against a 1600 was a very good sort of tension here.

    Levy, you gotta teach the black lio opening to this guy.... imagine being 1500 and having to face two lions at once
    also, I would not mind a reverse Elo swap with Hikaru....... if you can find strin enough guys to play you....... or even better, ELO swap with XQC
