Watching Levy like frantically gesture/mark the board on what could potentially be played while NL takes a year to make a move on turn 5 is just fantastic. Grade A entertainment.
Loved this, NL knows openings are a bit of a weakness and it was fun watching him strain to keep it all together and you overclocking your brain to get the win.
Levy casually showing the potential plans of the position with the arrows is pretty useful and interesting. The facial reactions at each idea is beautifully entertaining. loving the content and now a separate idea, compilation of funky levy faces
I think longer time-format would suit this better, less presure on the (lower-rated) player to make move and for Levy to recover after taking over....also Levy commenting immediately after move is made makes this more fun...oh, no... :)
Don't need a longer time. Need a player who makes moves instantly without thinking instead of running down the clock all the way thinking through everything in the first 5 moves of the game.
Longer time defeats the purpose of the series, the goal is to put pressure on the lower rated player to make moves even if they’re not ready which will make it even harder for Levy to recover… otherwise they’ll just probably always get a fair position and that’s not any different from a regular chess game.
I wasn't sure about this series to start with, but the great post-game analysis along with the idea works on dual points, because they make mistakes you wouldn't and then you take over which helps us learn how to recover from a weakened position too.
