    Hi friends. I worked at Universe of Energy and can answer a couple of questions..
    - Each show could hold up to 500 guests.
    - There were three rows of two vehicles each. When all vehicles were in use, this was called a "six pack."
    - The building was completely gutted when it became Guardians. The entrance is the only part that is still recognizable, and the part that used to be the preshow is now the first room of the queue with the spiral ramps. The Terry Crews preshow and loading areas are right where the Energy show theaters were, and the coaster part is in the new building that was constructed.
    - Universe of Energy was the first trackless dark ride ever created, which used guide wires instead of track to guide the vehicles. Energy walked so Rise of the Resistance and Ratatouille could run.

    Here’s some inside knowledge on what’s going on with the building formerly known as Stitch’s Great Escape.
    One word: Asbestos. From what I understand, that is an original building from 1971 so of course the stuff is everywhere. So if they were to completely revamp the attraction, they’d have to fix all the asbestos for the whole building. And what shares the building with Stitch? Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe. Losing the capacity of MK’s (probably) largest quick service restaurant would be pretty awful, and the cost of all those extensive repairs is probably pretty pretty high. So I doubt it’ll sit empty forever, but that’s why it hasn’t been demo’ed so far (aside from the set pieces being dismantled for the most part inside. Nothing structural)

It was great! 🤣🤣

  • @Dreamingofmainstreet
    @Dreamingofmainstreet 2 дня назад +2

    Former Lights, Motors, Action cast member here 🙋🏻‍♀️ parts of the backlot tour did in fact go past LMA backstage. We had a short cut that we would take to get to the break room but it involved having to dodge the sight of the trams. We would often hide behind Walt’s plane until the coast was clear. It also passed the practice space the cars used. Both attractions had a massive footprint. LMA alone would fit max 5000 people per show with 2-3 shows a day.
    Also, unrelated but my memory of GMR was that they always had the cowboy/gangster? I swear it was there the last time I rode it before it closed

  • @paigerr09
    @paigerr09 23 часа назад

    It’s as scary as everyone has heard. My mother brought my family on it, she kept saying, “oh it will be fun”. I was in ninth grade and my brother in fifth at the time. I kept saying I didn’t want to because I had seen the little commercial that they used to show about new rides on the Disney channel. My dad was so mad after. My brother and I were screaming/ crying, I was digging my nails into her arm, and telling her I hate her for bringing us there the entire time. We laugh about it now, but it was horrible. It was like Stitch on steroids. The real alien gets released from the test tube looking thing and then the terror ensues in the dark.

    The Alien encounter had the Alien escape. The lights go out and the spray of water is supposed to be the camera man getting eaten. The Alien stomps around and breaths hot air on your neck. I felt like long Alien fingers go across my head. They finally capture him and the attraction ends. Not for kids. 😊

    Interesting, the studio tour is very similar to the Universal Studios tour in California. They do almost the same thing with Jaws, the rain and flood (can't remember if there was a fire), the streets. It seems almost a copy but most of the Universal pieces are still used (like the city sets) or are pieces from past projects.

    Not rides but the Main Street electrical parade, the high school musical show, and the animation academy. I remember these vividly as a kid. The high school musical show was nothing crazy but as a 8 year old who loved HSM there is nothing like seeing wildcats at MGM dancing and singing your favorite songs. It was right in front of the big sorcerer hat!

    I did the Alien Encounter on my only trip to Disney World when I was 15! It really was scary! I just remember hearing the alien breathing in my ear and hot air blowing on my neck and I stuck my head as far forward as I could get it and my little cousin literally somehow got herself out of the seat and crawled into my aunts lap while sobbing and hyperventilating (she was 6). I’m shocked they let her in! It took ages to calm her down and she had nightmares for weeks!

    in the summer before it closed (2014), I volunteered to be in the show!!!! it was me, my brothers, cousins, and I think my dad and it was a BLAST! it was some sort of boat scene where we got shot at and then I was the one in the phone booth that got water dumped on me! it was so neat, you went “backstage” to put on these giant boots and some blue waterproof onesies and then they told us what to do before taking us out and when I say it is one of my core Disney memories I mean it
