Depends on the mother in law😜
@@usaalltheway8127 this is not a good plant to have in your home.....my neighbor had one and she threw it away, I asked her why and she told me ever since she brought that plant into her home, she's had nothing but bad luck, death, chaos within her family and home and she's a God-fearing woman.
An Air purifier, mothballs and Lysol spray is all you need to protect the air and environment of your home..
I was given a snake plant start in a water glass in 1983 while serving in the US Army in Germany. I left Germany in 1994 and the plant, repotted many times was over 350 lbs. We would go on maneuvers and exercises sometimes for over a month at a time. It seemed to benefit from extended periods of "drought"... and rock-n-roll music. If I were a betting man I would put money on it being right where I left it almost 3 decades ago. Everyone stay safe.
I purchased a snake plant two months ago that I placed in my bedroom. Since that time I have been able to breathe better, sleep better and my allergies are almost nonexistent. I love my snake plant. Now I am going to place more snake plants throughout the house.
after watching this video i bought 9-12 snake plants and i potted them in total of 15-16 pots, and new tiny little cute buds are appearing and it's awesome!
Snake plant is also poisonous .google it out.keep away from pets
These were known as "Mother in-law" plants in the UK.
Wow would you like to buy London bridge from me for a very reasonable price, its a great investment
I know this is an old post, but was there a noticeable difference in breathing? Thank you.
I had a friend that neglected one for over 3 years. Never watered it once.
It did look a little rough, no question.
I took it home, replanted it, and it's Thriving!!
Absolutely love these plants.
I have several. They are huge! ❤
I put mine behind something in my living room and forgot about it for 6 months until one night I saw it in my dream...I know it was communicating with me. I woke up but couldn't remember where i put it, so I went back to sleep. The dang plant appeared in my dream again. Sooo I searched everywhere in my home and finally found it. It looked so dry and sad. I apologized profusely and gave it a good watering some food and was shocked that it came back so beautifully. It grew from 12" to 2' and it looks absolutely beaitiful'. Love these plants🥰
Yes!! I had one for many years and neglected it for a year or so 😔 Summer came and decided to put it outside in dappled shade/sun. If it survives, it survives. It thrived!!! This plant is now massive! Within a month of being outside, the roots took hold and is absolutely beautiful!!
@@maryannshidaker2596 Awesome!!! 👍😀😀They really are hardy and Beautiful!! ❤
Back in the early 70s my friend had thrown out her snake plant and it ended up in her drive way where they repeatedly ran over it every time the moved their car. One day I walked to her house which was close to mine, and I saw it laying there. I picked it up and asked her what happened. She said she hated that plant and threw it out. I asked if I could have it and she said of course but it was in terrible shape from being run over and uprooted and not taken care of for weeks. So, I took it home and planted it and in no time at all, that stupid thing took off and turned into a healthy plant. Frankly, I don't like them either. I don't know why tho. But, I'm a plant lover so had to take care of it. I might get more since it's good on cleaning the air. I'm a severe asthmatic so I need clean air. I have expensive air filters but anything more I can do, I will. Thanks for the video.
@@bedtimebiblechat7152 They really are Hsrdy as heck!!
I hope you can learn to love it. 😀👍
I received a ‘congratulations!’ planter that included a snake plant when my first daughter was born, almost 33 yrs ago, and it’s managed to do well. Even after the planter got broken, and I‘temporarily’ stuck it in a plastic 1 pint food carton, while awaiting time to properly replant it. It is still in that container, in a southern-facing window! When I first received it, my grandmother told me to ‘get rid of it’, because her generation (and before) considered them bad luck. Glad I didn’t!😍🌈☀️
Well, just wow…..we have them in all the rooms! Nature is the key to survival!
This is one plant that actually thrives in household conditions, unlike many popularly promoted house plants. Sunlight, low light, seasonal light, most forms of the basic Sansevieria are almost bullet proof. They do not want to be too wet, especially in winter. Cool temperatures and reduced growing processes during winter dormancy and wet soil will rot them.
I had several leaves of snake plants that were long but drooping over. I cut them off the main plant, sliced them up and am now growing a number of new plants. The interesting thing is that the new plants don't always look like the parent leaf.
I'm interested in the content of this video but I just can't stand the weird mechanical machine voice. I'm sure there's another video with similar contact where a person is actually speaking. While I appreciate good content you'd think someone could put out minimal effort and actually sound like a real person.
I exactly felt that, so I increased the speed to 1.5 and it sounded much better.
I just turned the sound off and read the subtitles
Same .
Omg, yes 🙄😱
Same
1. Oxygen producing house plant
2. Filters Indoor air
3. Looks nice in bedroom
4. Remove toxic pollutants
5. Effective against allergies
6. Protective energy and Fung Shui
7. Low maintenance
Thank you. 💕
Thankyou. So annoying when they don’t get to the point
Thank you❤️❤️
Thanks. Now I don't have to listen to that annoying bot!
Interesting. I bought one on clearance several years ago. Poor thing only had 4 shoots and looked damaged. Over time it grew many more shoots and some are 3 feet tall. When I moved to a new home one of the shoots broke off. I stuck the broken piece into the dirt and it grew! I love this plant. Now I want more of them.
This video should be presented more often. It has been years since hearing this. Thank you very much for posting it. God Bless You!
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THESE BEAUTIFUL HEALING PLANTS.❤⚘😃
I love my snake plant!! Finally a plant for my low light room.
Wonderful plant and they multiply so quickly. From one small plant I bought 2 years ago , I now have SIX robust plants.
How so?
I have many snake plants all I put inside my house to save them from the winter. While browsing RUclips I saw this and I was afraid to click and watch this. I've thought they will bring bad luck and it will ruin my night? All night I was thinking and woke up I challenge myself to watch it in case they were bringing bad luck I'll throw them or put them outside. But I was wrong thanks for sharing the benefits of these plants I'll keep them more growing and buy more.
Your comment made me chuckle
I have one of these plants. After watching this video, and shall buy more
These are great plants. Pretty affordable as well and low maintenance. Bought 2 of these at Aldi for $4 each
Lol bnq was 12 pounds for 1, 75 if you want the big one!
I have a huge one in my living room. It started with two pieces, now it has about 12 pieces in the vase. 💖 IT!! 🤗

Realised I have to Put More in the House and Learn to Love The Snake Plants 🪴 More.
Joyce am glad for your new decision to go for more. I actually loved it very much and have the green ones which l've decided to replant in front of my fence wall. I never had the types with yellow boundaries. My only worry was the name until I got to know recently its other name is Mother-in-law's tongue. I bought a small one which I put in a pot placed in my Living Room. Am going to get some more of the ones with yellow boundaries for my Living Room and possibly my bedroom as soon as practicable.
Congratulations Joyce...!!!
Many thanks for this Vital Video; let's have More of such... 🪴⚘🍀🌴🍁🌻🌺🌲🌷☘🌿

We Live in Florida and mine are overgrown in 2 large pots as I've neglected them ! They multiply faster than any plant I've been had even when I lived in Maryland. Our son is allergic to almost Everything. Soo I'm going to be separating several and bringing indoors 🌵🌾🌵 Thanks for your great article
When they get over crowded they're at their best. They can survive with a little room.

Oh boy! I heart succulents! This was a fun video to watch and I don't know why. Maybe because it's after midnight and I have nothing else to do.
Thank you for the informative video. What always amazes me is when the outdoor air quality is poor, they advise exercising outdoors, and stay inside with the windows closed. Where do they think the air inside comes from?
Thank you for awesome information.
Thanks for the information 🙏🏻
Seriously this video is worth watching. I shared it with my family
Thank you❤
Seriously your uneducated !
There is a believe in here that if you want to own a house, buy a small snake plant absulately you will get one till your snake plant reach 1 meter. İ tried yes its true😊😊😊😊😊❤
Dear you had given us such a good directions & I started to do this as you suggest us. 👆👌💯🌹❤️💐
I’ve been wanting to buy some , now I know why😊 My mother in law had these inside and lived longer than I thought she would !
Your mother-in-law is also very talkative!
My grandfather smoked 60 woodbines a day, I am going for 70 he lived until he was 90 !
Liz, am extremely Happy for You. It's not that I want to immitate you Ooooo. I've been planning to get some more in my Living Room and possibly my Bedroom one of these days. I had plenty of the all green type that was too much so l removed them on Sunday evening. My intention is to replant them in front of my Fence Wall. Now that I know I will try to select some into two pots, one for the indoors and the other for the Porch. It's too late now else I'll do that right away. I can't wait for Day Break morrow Tuesday and do the Needful.
Wow BRAVO for sharing this Video!!! 👏
Thank you so very much for sharing with us the health benefits of the snake plants !!!! Robert S.J. Hu April 29, 2022.
Thanks for the good info🌺
Thank you for this video! Definitely buying several tomorrow! I absolutely love plants & gardening, and these look amazing! Could they work outside as well, in certain zones?
Yep and they are toxic good luck with them
@@gowdsake7103 I have many animals (as well as a daughter, and nephews and neices), so obviously I would never want to purposefully put any toxic plant at my home! Thank you for letting me know that, I will have to research them a bit more before buying any of them!
I have been told they grow wild in Kenya.
@@gowdsake7103 How? It wasn’t mentioned & Ive kept them for years
They are awesome plants

LOVE THE INFO!! THANKS =)
Fun fact: These are called "Mother-in-Law's Tongue" in Australia.
Sad fact: "The NASA Clean Air Study found D. trifasciata has the potential to filter indoor air, removing 4 of the 5 main toxins involved in the effects of sick building syndrome, however its rate of filtration is too slow for practical indoor use" - Wikipedia entry.
it is called like that in Hungary too
