You can rehearse, but be emotionally overwhelmed in real time though. Sharing your tragedy with 1000 of people for the 1st time, performing with your daughter and the love you receiving.
Regarding Jaime's crying. It's common for stroke victims to cry or be more emotional. It's called pseudobulbar affect which occurs due to the part of the brain being injured from the stroke.
No matter how many times you rehearse something it can hit completely different when it’s live. Especially when weren’t sure that you would be after almost dying.
First off, the man almost died. He was in the hospital so long the man came outta there damn near light skinned😂😂😂 Sometimes shit hit you different. Especially if somebody in the audience says something or claps at a particular point.
Watching Jamie’s other specials and tv shows and bloopers, He is a big time hilarious ad libber to a genius level so unless his ad libbing has been rehearsed all these years, I feel like the emotion was 100% genuine
This is my opinion. I noticed moments where Jamie Foxx's speech patterns reflected his ongoing recovery from a stroke. Those instances where he seemed to lose his train of thought really showed the brave journey he's still on. It was a heartfelt moment seeing his daughter perform on stage, but I noticed that her finger movements didn't match the music's riffs at the end of the song. A background guitarist could have been playing for her. Despite this, the performance was moving, and Jamie's story is truly inspiring. His strength and honesty are admirable, and it's great to see him openly sharing his experience.
I suffered an embolism last November during surgery after a terrible car accident. Him detailing his recovery really hit home for me. I’m a hip-hop saxophonist and him recalling not being able to remember. To this day, I don’t remember the accident or the stroke. I woke up 2 months later in a rehab facility, and my right side was paralyzed due to a radial nerve injury. By gods grace, I recovered about 95%. I’m back performing and back to myself. God is great!!! 🫡
Martin doesn’t understand that Yes he’s practiced this several times but when the crowd is there and you’re caught in the moment of it all it can be an emotional experience.

Jamie Foxx has always been my definition of an entertainer. He can sing, act, dance (a little bit), play piano well, and he's funny and has charm (though I can agree that he's funnier in tv shows than standup 🤔). Nevertheless, great to see him have this big comback 😎. Also, in regards to him making Diddy jokes, that isn't surprising. One, because he's made them in the past, and two I'm sure most stand-ups are gonna making Diddy jokes for a long time 😅 😅. I said the same thing about Trump when he was first elected in 2016 😅 😅.

Yall ain't have NO PROBLEM believing Denzel left early. Believe it or not everyone ain't into that shit. It's weird that guilty by association has become proof of a wrong doing.
There are certain traumatic experiences that bring a tear to my eye, every time I recall them. Also, there are things that I am over but when I relay them to someone that is sympathetic, I loose my reserve. "Don't make me cry" is real. Lastly, people that have suffered strokes sometimes suffer from PBA - pseudobulbar affect - a neurological condition that causes emotional reactions, such as crying.
