My favourite is Sorrellpaws' design. In this design one eye is pastel lavender and the other is pastel yellow. Both of the eyes have white stars in them. I don't really understand why people pick the traditional design because there are much more! I mean... you pick what you want, but i want to "spread" Sorrel's design because it needs more love
I like the thought of her having blue eyes, to go along with her ancient self, but no matter how many times she's been mentioned as having blue eyes, I'll always imagine her with green eyes. None of her parents have blue eyes, either. I feel she looks so much better with green, anyway. :P
I would’ve liked her with gold. Since my fav character in the Dawn of clans series she just like an opposite Gray Wing, he has amber eyes and a dark gray pelt, dove wing is a light gray yes? Yellow would just be a lighter amber and I think that would’ve been so cool
I prefer her with green eyes because it looks better in drawing with her and Jayfeather and Lionblaze- Lionblaze with golden, Jayfeather with blue, and Dovewing with green. Plus it works as something of a parallel to Hollyleaf.
I always liked the green eyed version of Dovewing, but I have a theory on why her eyes kept on changing description. What if she had blue-green eyes (like how some people have hazel eyes, which is a mixture of green and brown)? The other cats couldn't tell what color she had so they just alternated between the two.
Her eyes aren't blue, aren't green, aren't golden, not even rainbow. They're hazel. People with hazel eyes are known for having them shift in different lighting. My dad's eyes are hazel and today they're blue, yesterday, they we're green-yellow, almost golden-ie and 2 days ago they were DEFINITELY green.
I HAVE A THEORY as to why blue and green get so confused (LONG COMMENT AHEAD!) Dovewing could have been heterochromatic (when the iris contains two colours) which look golden in some lights. Now the only time Dove's eyes are mentioned as gold are in greenleaf (summer), meaning that there was probably some harsh light at the time specified in the story. Genetically speaking, it is impossible for Dovewing to have pure blue eyes, as she is not one of the following: a. An Ojos Azules b. White c. Colourpoint (type of albinism) d. Full Albino So in reality Dovewing could be heterochromatic (it's pretty epic). This can feature blue with green, so technically either blue or green can be correct to say. BUT that would mean that she is part white. I just resolved the biggest problem in the fandom aside from Scourge's collar (plz I'm not a professional biologist)
I always thought that Dovewing and Ivypool shouldn't have gray fur. One, doves are white. Why shouldn't Dovewing be? Plus, a BROWN tabby was their father. How did Whitewing, a white cat, and Birchfall, a brown tabby, end up having kits with GRAY fur?! I think Dovewing should be white and Ivypool should be white and brown.
I like Dovewing with green eyes the most. They're the most genetically common eye color for cats and there's way too many blue-eyed characters. Green just has the most logic in my opinion.
I know, I just tend to be a critic in some cases. Like how 60% of the characters in Warriors have blue eyes, even though they're the most rare eye color.
xamus I don't think so, that goes against genetics. Erin just didn't mind genetics or research them for a series of childrens books that wasn't even intended to be this long. I've only ever seen one cat with blue eyes and I help my neighbors with their cats (they breed savannahs)

Hazel eyes makes the most sense based off of her descriptions. Hazel eyes shift colour based on the lighting. Sometimes they look green, sometimes they look light blue, sometimes they look golden. However, from a story and art perspective, I prefer green. Green eyes can symbolize the parallel between her and Holly Leaf, and also how she’s not perfect (she doesn’t perfectly match up with her old self). Green eyes also look the best when paired up with her sister’s blue eyes/jayfeather and lion blaze’s blue and amber eyes.
Maybe her eye color changes due to season or the environment she's in like what happens to some people across the globe. I love how you broke this down, and thank you for taking the time to do it.

Though there is no changes in Lionblaze or Jayfeather, their powers are more in skill, hers were not. Jayfeather could see in dreams, but I beat so can Long tail, and lion blaze could still have his great fighting tecnecs despite now being able to get hurt. (sorry for the spelling) This could explain why she now has green eyes now, and blue eyes in the past. The golden eyes could be a mistake, but you never know, as she can see and hear from very far away. Or well could, when she had the blue eyes....I think I could just be digging to far.
I think of her with green eyes cause tbh, blue eyes are SOOO overused. And both her parents dont have blue eyes, so i like the idea she gets them from whitewing.
@@lattethefartlord9297 actually they are all 4 of my cat's have them and my cousin's cat does and the cats I've seen over the year all have green not blue

You obviously don't know how genes work. Dovewing's grandparents could have had green eyes, and her parents still carry their genes, even though they don't show. For example, I have blue eyes, my brother has green, but both out parents have brown. Our grandparents have blue eyes and our great grandparents had these greenish hazel eyes (like my brothers.) There not any of the colours you said.... they are hazel. I myself have hazel eyes and they are known for a shift in lighting. Today my eyes are blue, 2 days ago were green, yesterday were blue again, and about 4 days ago they were yellow-ish green. Since Dovewing/ Doves wing had all these eye colours this may or may not confirm your answer.
I like seeing her as heterochromatic (one blue eye, one green eye, looks gold in some lighting), or having turquoise eyes. I also like the idea that her eyes change colors when she tries to use her powers. Perhaps when she was using her powers to see the beavers all the time in Fourth Apprentice, her eyes were usually seen as golden. Again, just some headcanons of mine.
I think of Dovewing with yellow eyes. Not green, not blue. Because it's less common for a gray cat to have blue or green eyes. It's common for a gray cat to have yellow eyes. *ends argument*
I prefer green. Blue eyes are overused too much in the fandom (I understand this, since it *is* a nice color, one of my favorites actually-), and it's nice to see how well the light grey and forest green mix ^-^
That's an early draft of Fading Echoes' cover. I suspect that the cat in the middle (which is Flametail with - surprise - wrong green eyes instead of blue) was put on Night Whispers instead because that's the only book with his POV
I accept that her eyes are commonly considered to be green now, and I draw her with green eyes too because it's canon, but I still kind of like the idea of her having blue eyes better. I've always kind of been a fan of looking at the story perspective of things, and I think blue eyes are commonly used for cats considered "attractive" (by Warrior Cats standards) and Dovewing is at the top of a love triangle, so it makes sense. I want to stay canon with my art so I will, but a part of me will still wish they had made blue eyes canon.
I will just say a sea greenish blue. They were more blue when she was younger but as she gets older they tint more to green. My eyes are like that. Hazel. They were more brown when I was little, now they tint more green
It's been so long since I read the books where she first appeared, I forgot that her eyes were blue. ^_^" I think the blue eyes make more sense, but I like the way the green eyes look better.
I always imagined her with green eyes (from the cover) mixed with gold (from the first mentions). I also thought it made sense at the time because it was like she was "replacing" Hollyleaf. Plus the first art I saw of her was NiftyAppleStar's original Omen of the Stars animations- where she depict them as green. It's a visual thing- everyone sees the cover art and maybe other's fan art and gets it stuck in their head that it's cannon. I mean for me at least- I find it so hard to change what I first imagine a character to look like, because of those first few mentions of gold and the green-eyed cover, I ignored all mentions of blue as the books continued on. Now just imagine if the movie in the works has cannon characters- the fandom will go NUTS if a character looks different from the common depiction of them in fanart or the coverart. //and as another side mention, I was getting sick of blue-eyed grey she-cats in warriors.
In Lost Stars her eyes are metion in the allegiances as green but Idk about the actual book and on the wiki she has green eyes. MAKE UP YOUR MINDS PLS ERIN HUNTER!!!!! Oh and also in Darkest Night, Shattered Sky, and The Raging Storm.
Maybe Dove’s Wing’s eye color will be changed to green too? I hope so, since it’d make more sense to change both of them instead of just one as they are incarnations of the same cat. ~ Tass
Its a fancannon that when Dovewing uses her powers, her eyes change from green to blue. I didn't come up with this- I just heared it on TennelleFlowers' drawing dovewing video
Tbh, I like green eye Dovewing the most. Only because, when I first heard about her, I heard and saw that she had green eyes. I like all the colors, but I’m just the most used to green eyes. So, whenever I make Dovewing fan art, I will always add her with green eyes no matter you like it or not.
The authors should remake the warriors ultimate guide (Because it is really outdated) and change the illustrations to be the cannon eye color and pelt to the characters in the book.
Blue-green just became my accepted go-to answer to the chaos that is Dovewing's eyes. x3 Though I like green AND blue, mostly because I think the Dove's Wing connection is awesome, and I love whatever family resemblance I can get out of a book where genetics is often disregarded, BUT I also love the fact that Jay, Lion and Dove have different coloured eyes.
Sharpclaw from SkyClan has green eyes, right? From the books I've read (Firestar's quest and SkyClan's destiny) he's been mentioned to have green eyes many, many times, however in the guide he has blue.
I like Dovewing with Hazel/Gold eyes. 😄Aww... But I have always imagined her with blue eyes. And Ivypool with green eyes. Erin Hunter is actually more than one author. So each author could have had their own opinion on Dovewing's eye colour.Or maybe she has those eye colours because of her twin sister Ivypool! Because Ivypool and Dovewing are twins, this could have influenced Dovewing's genes and made the colour of her eyes change. After all Dove's Wing didn't have a twin sister. (As far as we know) But in my other opinion she could have a mixed colour of blue, green and gold eyes. Erin Hunter could have had to describe her eye colours separately to make sense. I hope at least some of this helped. ☺
Personally I imagine her with blue-green eyes. Teal or turquoise you could say. The appearance changes depending on the angle she's looked at, lighting, etc, causing the description changes. Idk. That's just me though lol. Perhaps they even would look gold in certain lights, causing the gold description.
I always had thought Dovewing had green eyes, (I didn't even know she was described with golden eyes until I reread the books). Honestly though, I was 7 when I read the books so I don't think my belief of green eyes was anything but childhood ignorance with the cover and actual text.
I like the idea of her starting out with gold eyes before she and dovewing the 1st were joined together by a prophecy then they became blue but then after she lost her powers her blue eyes went away but somehow it’s still kinda left it’s mark because the gold and blue color came together and made green maybe because only very very very little traces of her powers were left so now all her eyes are valid and you can have whatever dovey you want. Do you like this idea too?
I think that her eyes were changing colors, perhaps depending on the season? My cat's eye color sometimes change...and green is a combination of blue and yellow!
As a concept artist who loves Warrior Cats, I'm in love with the green eyed Dovewing the most. However, I decided to make my design of her with blue inside her obvious green eyes to lessen confusion! It also gives her a higher likability among fans (as she gets a lot of unwanted hatred) and some creative freedom! I see Warriors as not just a book series, but a place where you can imagine how the characters look like! Just go wild with your imagination as you read through each chapter of each book! That's what I do!
I think that she may have a genetic that could possibly make where her eyes switch between specific colors... and I think that the eyes in the illustrations are more of a mixture of gold and green, and another thing might be is it reminds me how they mention her eyes blue many times in the book that... it might be signaling like if the character Dove's wing is almost like visiting her body from Starclan. Although, this question still not exactly answered unless they keep saying her eyes are green through series.
I've always seen Dovewing with green eyes. It just suits her. I feel at least one of Whitewing's kits should have her eye color. And Dovewing is the perfect cat. Ivypool suits her blue eyes.
I like to draw Dovewing with one green and one blue eye each with golden stripes near her pupils. But, having that edgy hair covering on her eyes. Sometimes it's her green eye. Sometimes her green.
I like drawing her with one green and one blue eye. I think its pretty, makes her a little bit different from the bunch of other grey cats with and represents both eye colors she's had the most often.
I just want to say her eyes genetically are most likely yellow green color, I’m not gonna get into the nitty gritty parts but with Whitewing has green and her father has amber, with Ivy having blue both parents have to have recessive blue gene, but that’s not likely that there blue. Now the most seen eye color is a amber green mix, and the most likely eye color on a punnet square is a GA or Green amber. That’s just how I feel
I always headcanoned that dovewing has the same condition humans sometimes have, where their eye color can change depending on certain things(I forget what the reasons behind it are). Jared Padaleki has eyes like that. They sometimes look blue, or a mix of gold and green, but are usually flat out green. Personally I like green eyed Dovewing the most because there's already so many blue eyed gray cats in the books and I like the contrast between her green eyes and Ivypool's blue. Also I forgot they even mentioned her with gold eyes and personally I can't see it.
Her eyes could be hazel.... Hazel eyes often change colour, depending on lighting, mood and weather. Also depending on the shade of hazel. Most times, hazel eyes go from a brown/gold to green. (Also cats start with blue eyes and as they developed more (get older) their eyes can change colour. So as a kit and apprentice (as well as early warrior) her eyes could've been blue as she was still growing but slowly changed hue (blue- hazel (which would explain the golden colour) - green). Or Maybe her eyes just change colour....it's possible. My cats eyes went from being yellow to almost all green. So it can happen that the eyes just change colour.
My favorite Dovewing is Dovewing with one eye blue, one green, golden spots in both.
Marta Tarasiuk that's hazel

I have a idea blue eyes are when Dovewing are using her powers but the green eyes are her normal eyes
But her powers are always being used..
StormyyAJ she lost them after the last hope
FlameFlamedramon VA stolen from niftysenpai
This is just my headcannon, but i feel like dovewing has blue-green eyes. some pov cats see them as blue and some as green.
I hate her with blue eyes and love her with green eyes. I don't know why, really.
i love Green eyed dovewing, it just looks so nice and pretty >w
She’s none
SHES STILL RAAAAAIIIINBOOOOOWWW
I like the blue eyed Dovewing the best. And thanks for making a video of this, too, it helped clear my confusion on the matter.
I prefer green since I'm a sucker for Russian blues.
We have one ^^
I always thought in the old Fourth Apprentice books, Dovewing's eyes were like that because she was using her powers.
There not any of the colours you said.... they are hazel.
Green
Amelia gaming They can, it's just extremely rare.
maybe greenish yellow?
Yes! On all of these Warrior roleplays EVERYONE has green/blue eyes and I'm that one person whose 99% of their OCs have yellow eyes
liongoesrawr it’s also less common for a cat to have magical powers than not have magical powers soo
I prefer green. Blue eyes are overused too much in the fandom (I understand this, since it *is* a nice color, one of my favorites actually-), and it's nice to see how well the light grey and forest green mix ^-^
1:57 that is NOT the cover of Fading Echoes.
Film Club 2017-2018 The covers change sometimes but yeah isn't it supposed to have Ivypool/Ivepaw on it?
Shadow Storm Yeah, it's supposed to have Ivypaw, not Flametail.
Film Club 2017-2018 well it's the cover of my copy.
Talion Is Insane
Weiird
I prefer the blue-eyed Dovewing. She should look like her ancient-self.
Dovewing has green-blue eyes with golden rings
I like her with green eyes, there are too many blue eyed main characters
RAINBOW!!!! I LOVE RAINBOW
(Yeah I know there not really rainbow but I still like it)
I’ve always imagined her with green eyes 😂
Um the cover for fading echos is incorrect.
It is supposed to be ivypool on the front.

#RainbowEyedDovewing
...For the LGBTQ+ community :P
Pine Needle Dovewing is straight though.
Pine Needle Yesssss oml
Look, I'm bi, and I'm all for LGBTQ+ representation, but just making something rainbow doesn't mean it represents gay culture.
I think with Graystripe too, in the books his eyes have been yellow, orange, and even green
Here eyes are GREEN and I don't care
I love find random fandoms with such dedicated deep-divers that sound crazy if you aren't one of them
The green-eyed Dovewing is the best. I will always think of her as a green-eyed cat and her sister Ivypool having dark blue eyes.
Theory: There are 3 different Dovewing's and they switch off very so often, in order to confuse us all.
Or maybe she cosplays and forgets to take out her contacts
Maybe Dove’s Wing’s eye color will be changed to green too? I hope so, since it’d make more sense to change both of them instead of just one as they are incarnations of the same cat.
~ Tass
Its a fancannon that when Dovewing uses her powers, her eyes change from green to blue. I didn't come up with this- I just heared it on TennelleFlowers' drawing dovewing video
I really like Dovewing with green eyes, it's just more fun to draw her with them. In fact, they just look better with her fur pallet. So yea
I think when she had blue eyes she had powers (maybe dove's wing sprit left her?) and green without powers.
(As far as we know)
But in my other opinion she could have a mixed colour of blue, green and gold eyes.
I love her best with green eyes, although if I had to pick a color besides green for her, I would pick yellow
Plus I mean we all have are own opinion on how we see her! =33
I like the blue eyed dovewing because it's my favorite color, and because the reincarnated thing seems really intriguing and such.
In one of The Broken Code books Dovewing is mentioned by text to have blue or green eyes. It is either Lost Stars or The Silent Thaw.
I've always seen Dovewing with green eyes. It just suits her. I feel at least one of Whitewing's kits should have her eye color. And Dovewing is the perfect cat. Ivypool suits her blue eyes.
I like the idea of her having heterochromia and then a partial gold/blue eye
Not sure why-
I love her eyes as Teal eye color.
Like a mixture of dark greenish-blue.
That way she isn't straight up copying Hollyleaf Green eyes.
I like to draw Dovewing with one green and one blue eye each with golden stripes near her pupils. But, having that edgy hair covering on her eyes. Sometimes it's her green eye. Sometimes her green.
I like the idea of eyes that change colour, instead of one consistent colour. I think it makes sense about her having powers, to be honest.
I think, with her gray pelt, the blue eyes look best because blue and gray go well together, but not so much green and gray or golden and gray.
I draw DoveWing with heterochromia so one eye is blue and one is green
I like drawing her with one green and one blue eye.
I think its pretty, makes her a little bit different from the bunch of other grey cats with and represents both eye colors she's had the most often.
I just want to say her eyes genetically are most likely yellow green color, I’m not gonna get into the nitty gritty parts but with Whitewing has green and her father has amber, with Ivy having blue both parents have to have recessive blue gene, but that’s not likely that there blue. Now the most seen eye color is a amber green mix, and the most likely eye color on a punnet square is a GA or Green amber. That’s just how I feel
Another power she had beside good hearing, smelling and seeing: changing eyes' color
