This was a wonderful program, looking at an area of the world that many probably have no knowledge on its citizens and agriculture. I'm located in southern Ontario in Canada, but many of the same issues that came across in this program are echoed with producers in this country. Input cost and dealing with government regulations can be challenging at the best of times. Again, it was a wonderful program.

Amazing video showing the struggles of producing food on the island. I am involved in the production of cattle feed on the island and it is tough, there are lots of variables and unknowns where you can either end up sat on piles of feed barley at the end of the season or run out half way through.

Thats horrible. The famers get bare minimum. The farmer getting 12-14 percent of market price is a joke.

So sad so many of the nations problems could solved simply
Governments wasting money on carbon capture silliness . mandate all government purchased food comes from produced on Isle of Man land
All food labled local is 100% local.
Setup a discounted fraight line off the island. To enable competitive export
Simple things acted on quickly can change the whole society for the better. Usually it’s someone’s, or in most cases, many peoples hand in the pot that causes all the grief and troubles

Joining the Eu and the promise of global markets was all misleading, ment more control for large supermarkets as the can import in large quantities and cheaper from less developed countries

Department looking at everything and not doing anything same old story, solution is for farmers to take control back start to dictate the price, strike strike strike!! Take control , band together internationally is the only way dealing with global markets so its difficult but it can work as supplies dry up in other countries price will go up to sustainable and cost effective farming
