He puts himself in that situation in his mind and then acts accordingly. So from the very beginning Tony Stark has been Rich genius playboy Robert Downey Jr.

That is his weakness and we need to respect that.

I’m so glad that he handled it the way he did because you don’t see that a lot with people nowadays. it’s mostly just blunt aggressiveness and starts a fight, but RDJ knows about this, he gives him a chance to stop, he keeps a cool head, doesn’t give the interviewer what he wants, and removes himself from the situation. I would really love to learn from him strategies on how to do this in life because as a person my age (16) you are always faced with “That guy”.

Well, after looking through the comment section, I saw some people saying RDJ's reaction and the way he walked out was "immature". As opposed to other "grown men" who would just smile and avert the conversation like a "professional" would.
First things first: He tried that. It didn't work.
Secondly, the reason why most famous, professional people just smile politely and avert the subject is because they know full well that their every action, word, expression, everything is being judged by people all over the world. One wrong move could put serious dents in a person's career, and thus, they choose to remain as if these things didn't even faze them. Then, there are people, usually older and more experienced, who just don't care anymore that they are being judged. They let the judgers and the haters say whatever they want, and respect themselves enough to know that they don't have to put up with someone who clearly doesn't respect them. The way I see it, this approach is more "mature" than just smiling and pretending you're not upset when you have just been hurt.
PS: To the people who think "the interviewer didn't do anything wrong", you all seem to be such wonderful people, if you think bringing another person close to tears falls into the category of "doing nothing wrong".

Gillian Bourne How is it irrational?
Krishnan is purposely asking these absurd questions towards these actors in an attempt to cause drama and conflict. We can see from his interview with Quentin Tarantino that this is what he wants to do with his interviews.
It's just sad. There are so many interesting questions he could be asking these talented people. But then he just wastes their time with nosy, useless questions that don't have any real value other than "getting a reaction." I don't want him to "get a reaction." I want him, as a "professional journalist", to get answers to questions that are on-topic and worthwhile.
When Krishnan posted the video of Robert Downey Jr. walking out on the interview onto his Facebook, all he had to say was "Sigh...." The man offended Robert Downey Jr. with pointless questions meant to do nothing but upset him and get a reaction, made him walk out on the interview, and the only thing he has to say about it is, "Sigh...."? Is he a man or a 12-year-old girl?
I don't think he carries himself as a professional journalist. As such, he shouldn't have a job as a professional journalist.
At the very least he should never be the one chosen to interview these famous people. He doesn't know what to do with the opportunities that he's given.
I think not firing Krishnan, not apologizing publicly, and/or not removing him from the duty of interviewing celebrities is far more irrational than just letting him continue onward with his complete lack of journalistic integrity. But, please Gillian, do tell why you think Krishnan deserves his position in life.

How can you make such assertions? What would you know about the decisions we have to make or the responsibility to make sure to do what needs to be done?
I would comment on more stupid trolls that seem to just attack people's opinions and say 'oh you must be American' but this will be the last one, mostly because Jessey tried to reply to you, although I know (in my personal opinion) your just trying to antagonize her for some stupid personal spiteful reason...
Also if the interview was 'forced' to say this did he have a gun to his head? I'm not sure why higher ups telling you to do this for years abstains you from being criticised for doing something stupid, the interview should just expose the higher ups if he is being used and I could go on etc, but it will be meaningless as you won't care anyway...
I'm sure you have never made an irrational comment ever in your whole life as whatever nationality it is you are Ms Gillian

Poor Robert! What a stupid question to ask? It has nothing to do with the movie.

His personal life is his business. You can see he started breathing hard when he brought up jail and it almost looked like he was tearing up when he mentioned his father. Just because he's famous doesn't mean his personal life should be on display for everyone to see and judge.

RDJ was entirely in the right here. If you want an exposé, work the phones and get an exposé. If Disney is good enough to let you have five minutes with one of the stars of their movie, one of the most famous men in the world, you stick to what they invited you to do - a movie press junket. You do not sabotage the hospitality of Disney, Marvel, and Robert Downey Jr. for a headline. Disgusting and unprofessional.
I'm both English and a Journalist. Today, I feel embarrassed to be that. An appalling show from Channel Four, and the worst thing is, this guy's got form!

Mr Guru-Murthy, what a lack of shame, try to milk the juicy answers out a celebrity while they interview had nothing to do with personal issues. And then post the video of RDJ leaving the place as if he was some spoiled brat. You we doing a horrible job he had the right to walk out.

I just want to say that in case anyone else noticed, Robert politely let him know that he didn't want to go there in the interview. When the moron kept rudely asking question he simply stood up and walked out. ROBERT DID NOT STORM OUT OF HIS INTERVIEW! Please stop saying that he did.

    I would leave too.

What does RDJ's past even have to do with his work? He was there to promote a movie. This journalist has zero respect for the work; all he wants is an "exclusive" so he asks a manipulative question. Maybe he thinks asking this question means he's an "important" journalist. Nope, he's just an idiot. Way to go RDJ!

Sadly and ironically I'd say this is exactly why that guy is keeping his job... he's getting kind of "famous" by bringing up awkward subjects that end up pissing the actors off, hence, higher audience...

RDJ has a past as with everyone else, he currently has a image to maintain as a role model of being Iron Man and obviously would like to keep it with all his charitable causes, I'm guessing it has a sense of self worth for him.
Why would you bring up the past where his younger audience might not have known that about him but likely will know when they see this interview...You want to ask those questions, become Oprah or schedule a interview about that type of questions, not ambush him on a press junket about his film.
If I was his publicist for that day I would've immediately detected RDJ's uncomfortable glare and give the interview a reminded RDJ isn't here to talk about anything else besides the movie and completely stop it if he continued, he would've gained more respect from RDJ for that.
