Jimbo is in the studio with Tim Spiers and Mark Carey to breakdown the final two quarter-final matches of Euro 2024.
England claw their way through to the semi’s after a cagey affair with Switzerland. Bukayo Saka pulled England level with a wonderful goal in the 80th minute, taking the game all the way to penalties. England scored every penalty in convincing fashion and booked their ticket into the semi-final.
Türkiye’s incredible run comes to an end after their loss to the Netherlands 2-1. A wonderful first half header wasn’t enough for the win, as the Dutch go through and set up a clash with England, with the Final only one match away.

This was the voice of football growing up for me.
Great pod!
England needed singular moments of brilliance from individual players to progress this far. Saka agaunst Switzerland. Bellingham's bicycle kick. Without those moments, they'd have been eliminated. This isn't a team.
It's FOUR semi-finals pre-Southgate. They were beaten in the semi-final of Euro 1968 by Yugoslavia.
Loving the analysis Adam.
I know this is England based but you only talked about the Dutch for a very short time and most of that was based on Gakpo in the Dutch squad vs Liverpool. Bit more would have been nice.
Harry Kane is "A shadow of what we've seen in the past"..... He's scored 2 goals. He isn't getting the ball, so he's not getting the chances. The way people are challenging Kane - saying he's poor - that must mean he's not scoring at all and missing loads of chances - which isn't true.
Kane has always been a striker who, for some reason, doesn't get himself in the optimal positions to score, or isn't even in the area when crosses come in, but he still has a prolific goal scoring record. I think you have to start him - but Southgate needs to bring on Watkins or Toney after 60 minutes if Kane isn't having any impact in the next game. Watkins and Toney can run in behind onto a through ball or ball over the top.
The Dutch like to play Spain
The reporter quotes the euro 96 penalties as being bad compared to these ones, the first 10 penalties in 96 are as good as you will see by both teams, well until Southgate stepped up.
The English luck is ending next wednesday!
Pre-planned non-dynamic substitutions. The team needs Gordon’s pace and freneticism.
COME ON HOLLAND.VAN VEN HAS PACE TO TROUBLE.PLAY HIM OUT OF POSITION FOR THIS GAME EVENUP FRONT.HE KNOWS WHERE THE NET IS.USE HIS PACE.ALSO MALEN CAN PLAY
Still don’t understand the “palmer is brilliant”. Had a very average game. Maybe the bar is so low now.
Others can't account for your lack of eye sight unfortunetly
@@ImtheHitcher another bias Chelsea fan?
@@timinno Palmer is brilliant, and he also didn't have his best game today. Both can be true
I think it’s his forward/direct passing. He’s always pushing things forward whether it works or not.
He's the only player we've got that seems to run at defenders thats why
There’s more action with Gareth in the showers after the game, than on the pitch.
I'm so confused by this discourse that Foden played well...
Him trying to explain that pickford stat was painful af
Wasn't that serious
was that the presenter? - this guy has presented football shows for years and I had to switch off early into this as his presenting is so slow and messy like it's his first time presenting.
@@footyball66this isn’t taken seriously, as they post this to RUclips. But post a chopped up edited podcast to Spotify etc. So the guys don’t really take this video that serious it’s very relaxed and they will repeat stuff for the editors.
I didn’t like it either at first.
I don't give Southgate stick for "tactical conservatism", I've criticised him for a poorly balanced side, appalling judgment, incredibly weak understanding of tactics and quite frankly, the most inept use of substitutions ever seen. No amount of fabricated gloss or technically, inaccurate plaudits (lies to you and I) will ever cover-up the wilfully ignorant squad selections and the blind employment of a blatantly unsuitable role altercations.
July 14 final!!!! 14= Johan Cruijff... final is Netherlands - Spain, there is no doubt about that and Marco van Basten is the analyst of the game Holland-England😮!!!! Coincidence does not exist
Bit farfetched 😂 but will root for the Netherlands 💪
We’ve gone from being in the easier side of the draw to now beating the favourites against us.
The difference in the quality in the penalties is down to the technical quality of English players. They are capable of playing front foot football like Spain, not necessarily in style, but they are being played with the handbrake on due to GS negativity. I obviously want England win to win it but will massively begrudge Southgate being able to claim credit for it. And on the Kane dilemma just put Gordon next to him, he's the Son clone and would allow Kane to drop but further up because the back line is following the runner.
If we win this, Southgate will definitely deserve credit. He'd be the second man in history to win England a trophy. He'd be knighted. I'm somebody who doesn't rate him in the slightest but it'd be impossible to not give him credit if we go all the way, despite his many shortcomings
All over next game.will message next week to say, told you so.

Please release the actual pod I don’t need to see you

Foden had a really strong game ☠️
