@@mikechansw748 yes, you should never do v on them, Brace is instantaneous deals more damage and increases their defence, dmg boost is so ridiculous it will kill anything in front of it.
I just started playing the game and didn’t really enjoy it. But after watching your videos, I actually got a lot better, and enjoy it a lot now! Keep up the great work 🙂
As the unit kits are cheaper to replenish in season 5, the 28 unit kits you get for completing the unit challenges are a good way to make silver by selling them on the market, provided you have enough bronze to replenish the unit kits you lose in battle. Same for the paladins. As always, love your videos!
I dont get why no one is talking about the bug in this unit where you can just walk through any braced unit or units in shield formation like imperial shields without getting body blocked and then just bracing and deleting them with stalwarts thats not supposed to work...
Sooooooo.... Now that we have a video on how good they are could we have a video on how to destroy them? I prefer my spear seargents with the cover commended ability. I can get between 64 and 120 kills with them. One game I got 179 kills. But the problem is always stalwarts. I can't break through enough for my seargents to fight through. I'm spear class so nothing to break the line. Great video as always keep it up
Well like any shield unit rifles or anything else that can pierce trought shields will work, for infantry flank and back attacks are the best, everything else will be too costly for you.
@@miiiiihha and there lies the problem, trying to break through them blocking an alley way or something. No way past them with any of my units, Would something likes pikes be good against them? I'm saving up for imperial pikes and I know they're a great advancing unit. Could they break through?

Gotta be honest. They seem OP... Almost all of the units from that season of challenges are if you think about it. It may still be early days until more upgrades are introduced; which may be why they are too out of scale compared to other same type units. But as things sit now, I don't think any argument could be made to say they aren't. A single unit counter for another type of unit isn't even going to cut it considering only a few normal units from the unit tech tree can barely compete with these guys, negating more units than it counters.
Brace damage doctrine doesn't apply, its pike only. The purple shield/spear block doctrine from the F4 quests does apply and it makes them about a bazillion times more tanky.
i love this new meta units. Because my Reapers can eat them alive. Back when fortebacios where op my reapers were useless but now, man. I can kill an entire stelwarts unit and they only damage 2-3 reapers to half health :))

Yea they're op if played right. Had a clutch moment taking home base before with imp pike advance into our team, use stalwarts advance with brace once they were close, took losses but demolished the pikes with ease. Flip side been totally demolished Tring to take A in ranked after being swarmed by three units. Back attacks they just can't handle.
They do have pretty good potential as a unit, as you say particuarly hard to deal with when played well but die fast when you do manage to get behind them
I have been wondering, does Brace, give any advantage against ranged units? or when engaged by enemy range, should be better be in Non-brace, with shields overhead? in brace mode they slightly keep their shields over their face, but not that much cover from above.
Definitely better in non brace formation, plus I found the damage from archers is minimal against them or paladins which I play most of the time , wondering many times why people bother taking archers...
truly meta ;) .... every siege... at least 20+ stalwarts in every game.... hell... i am even cautious with my trebuchets nowadays, because you never know in the endgame when you really need it. i dont even use it on archers anymore lol. brace damage doctrine is for pikes or polearms .... and if you like playing with pikemilitia... stawarts are just the extremely upgraded version of them ;) (gameplay wise) nive vid by the way ;)
I cant wait till end of the season and so they up the leadership cost on these, for the ammount of dmg and tankiness i feel like they should be at the very least 265-270 just so you cant do these doom stacks anymore as they are right now. But thats just my opinion as a fairly new player. Might just be because i dont rly have anything to effectively deal with them
I do agree! It would be an effective way of slightly reducing their effectiveness or punishing bad play. 30 secs might be a bit to long but even 15 would be a good change
Personally I think after the release of brace there should be a 3 second cooldown, and then make them while bracing unable to do critical damage. The critical damage only affects the walk in and brace tactic and the 3 second cooldown affects slightly with adjustments or quickly changing angles from flanks.
I would expect Stalwarts to get a nerf next season. Not to any stats or mechanics, but to the F2 formation. To have such a tight formation with the entire unit facing one way on Stalwarts can be a little broken.
I think setup time for their brace would be enough, so it's used the way it should be. Prepare for the enemy charge,/attack not walking into them an deleting everything by taking a dive to the ground.

Really don't like the Stalwarts they are really gimmicky with the insta brace, but I am enjoying the Paladins, they actually fell rewarding if played well they can fight even when overwhelmed.
I'm not sure about all the interactions of units but I've been playing for a while now and i just don't see how they are not OP. Compared to pike guards as another high tier unit they are just overall better except you don't need to "micromanage" guards, but pressing two buttons is easy anyway. Stalwarts are equal/better against everything, even cavalry, as after advancing, pike guards have only brace which is way worse than stallwarts'. Plus stalwarts win 1v1 against advance of guards head on
Its meta, until you realize that twar is an endless tide of t5 cav, even in towns and forts. Its real use is as an emergency shield to stop imp pike and block stairs, otherwise using ISG is still better.
@@gavinf.6170 There are other T5 meta cav. Good luck countering all of them at once when they swarm from all sides. It gets worse the further you go inside a keep, the more stretched out you will be, which ill make it easier for the cav to pick off the infantry.
Twar is such a minor insignificant part of the game though, the advantage from winning, access to tax free resources, is pretty useless nowadays since requisition tokens are handed out like confetti and players probably mine 99% of their resources with req tokens nowadays...
@@EvoLozGaming I have already finished watching the video, I very much agree with almost everything said, as I point out, when this unit charges devastates the units with low armor (even condottieri), you should abuse a little more of the charge against weak units, although the veteran is set on the other branch (im use brace branch too).
I'm sort of 50/50 they are certainly a pain and tough to deal with but they go someway to counter the Kheshig meta + they can actually be delt with even if it is a pain to kill them
Shield units doesn't work anymore, there are too many ways to disrupt them in the current meta, specially with the maul destroying then from the front within seconds. Think of imp spearmen, what you feel when you see them now compared to when you saw them on S1-2, personally I just think of free units and I'm not even a maul.
I just unlocked them, and this is a message to all who haven't unlocked them yet, they are worth your grind. I was about to delete the game because of unbalanced units, my units were melting to berserkers and such, but once I unlocked stalwarts, hot damn, they are VERY VERY good. I easily get like 120 unit kills even with a bad team, if you tried them before and didnt like them, I suggest you give them another chance!

pavise and muskets with shots through shields are the only counters
it is like watching photos of a distant vacation, rip our stalwarts in the current meta
I think that the doctrine giving plus 100 damage while bracing, is only for polearms (rare polearm doctrine)
I did wonder if that might be the case, probobly a good thing really don't need higher damaging stalwarts XD

The doctrine is a "rare polearm doctrine" for the brace damage so I do believe it cannot be applied to stalwarts as they do not wield polearms :)

Stalwarts don't do stun anymore, so I am not very surprise since higher level reaper have extreme defense.

When you upgrade your sgsts they will retain their level, ie. you'll get level 18 stalwarts :)

Many player change spear sergeant to this unit and it's not great against cavalry like spear sergeant do,on my server see many of cavalry lately.

how do you level them so fast
These were back from season 5 but generally just focus on grinding out the new units for videos so get them levelled pretty quick :)

List of cav Stalwarts counter: Kheshigs, Kheshigs, Kheshigs, KHESHIGS. Anything that counters Kheshigs will always be meta.
