Becky you are a remarkable young woman! You have a very wise head on young shoulders and you certainly know what’s important in life. You’re very intelligent and you have the ability, drive and focus to achieve anything you want to plus you have the support of a very proud loving family. As you know I love watching your channel for all the reasons I’ve said and I’ve also said that you are an inspiration to everyone, young and old! There are so many people that could learn a lot from you and your channel. I will end by saying that I, for one, would be very proud and honoured to have a daughter like you. Congratulations on reaching 10,000subs. You fully deserve that and much more.
Thank you very much Gaz for your lovely comment, it is very kind of you! I am glad you like my channel, it means a lot. Aw that is very sweet of you :) Thanks again, one of the best comments i have received. Take care my friend :)
Thank you so much! I used to love hiking and camping, but have neglected it a bit since my little kids were born. Your videos inspired me and I'm going out camping tomorrow with my 3 year old girl, will be a blast I'm sure!
I think your dad only wanted you to be the best you can be, so many parents do the same whether it be racing bikes, tennis, gymnastics or football. Its tough as a parent when your child no longer wants to compete at a high level in a sport that you the parent taught the basics of and watched them bloom. I personally think that when young junior elite athletes are under the control of the supposedly "best" coaches that's when the disinterest starts, it happens in every sport huge amounts. You're parents have instilled in you something special, whatever you do, will be a success. Keep up the good work, I will get my son off his PlayStation and watch your channel hopefully you can inspire a lad your age to get off his arse, cheers.
Holy Competitive Cycling Bat Girl☺🚵 Who knew beneath that soft shell was an amazing, dig deep champion. That's so cool Becky. So happy on your 10k subs. So proud to know you. Enjoy 🙌🌟👍☺😀💖
You have thousands of people who love you thru RUclips, that would never have known you otherwise. Thank You> Love your camping trips. From Arkansas USA
You come across as a very sincere and genuine person. Your transparency about your past is very telling! I'm not at all surprised you feel at home among nature! Nature always lures the good souls back to where they came from. I hope you make a trip over here to North America sometime, you would enjoy the beauty of it all; we have some of the worlds best forests! Glad to be a subscriber, keep it up!
you’re an all around lovely young lady, you give me hope for the future, all I see around me are kids with noses buried in cell phones and missing life, you’re correct to enjoy your youth, enjoy life, and enjoy this earth
Thank you very much, that's very kind of you! Yeah true, its a shame really, hopefully my channel will inspire them to get outdoors. Likewise and take care :)
Congratulations on the 10K subscribers !! I'm slowly getting there. Great channel, I have been watching for a while. Didn't know you were a competitive cycler, that is awesome is well.
You've got quite the life story already, for such a young person. It's nice to live the life you want to. But it's good you learned from all your past experiences as well. I know where you are coming from. I used to race cross country and a little bit of enduro, and dabbled in road. Really wanted to race BMX but no scene where I grew up. I didn't persue it as hard as you did, but many riding friends and co competitors did and still do. It's their whole life! And seeing the kids on development teams and whatnot, it's something that controls their whole lives. It's great if they love it, but some are pushed into it, and regardless, it's good to be well rounded and exposed to other things. It's also important to not get burned out. I lived and breathed MTB. Was a bike mechanic, sold bikes, organized rides, led groups, volunteered in organizations, did trail work and even met my wife riding. I raced hard, commuted by bike, and rode four seasons. And I started to dislike it. But, as I wrongly used it to identify who I was, it felt like rejecting who I was to leave it behind. My body finally really started to complain, though, with overuse injuries and multiple bad wrecks. And I needed to go back into the woods. So, I stopped riding, quit working at the shop, traded my bike for a rifle and dove in deeper into bushcraft. It's very rewarding, and there's no performance peak, like sports can have. You have your whole life to learn more and more. Google Mors Kohanski. He's a Canadian bushcraft icon. He's the grand daddy. And he's spent his whole life accumulating skills and knowledge. You can see him on Karamat Ways RUclips channel. Keep doing what you love, specially if it's good and wholesome. Congratulations on 10k subscribers, too. Love the crow! We had one for a bit as kids. Very smart animals. Take care.
Ah wow! You must of been into cycling a lot also, glad to know someone knows where i am coming from. Cycling becomes your life instead of a hobby or a bit of fun, i did enjoy my years doing it but im glad i quit and now looking for more in life. Aha that's cool, think that was a good idea :) Will have to look that youtuber up. Thank you very much, cor you had a crow and cycled, you sure we aren't the same person aha! Take care and thanks for sharing
@@GirlOutdoors do you ever consider cross county and trail bikepacking on a mountain bike? As an alternative to hiking? Seems like something you’d excel at and be able to cover loads more ground, I’ve get it if you’re totally done with bikes though
It was difficult for you to talk about cycling. I hope nothing untoward happened to you while you were training with the Olympic team and you’re ok. You’re an incredibly wholesome young lady, so different from most people. Truly a one in a million.
❤ You and your Dad helped me soo much during the Plandemic. Those were extremely dark times but seeing you guys inspired me, motivated me, and kept hope alive. I thank you both so much for what you do.
What an amazing honest reflection. Thanks. I have a question for you that ties into something you said in this video with the Scotland trek you did that was over 200 miles. What a crazy accomplishments that was. You mentioned you watched Joe Robinet for inspiration (me too) and Joe is from Ontario Canada as I am. I also think I noticed you had a red maple leaf necklace on during your hike, and the red maple leaf is a symbol for Canada. I was wondering if there is a connection between Canada and yourself?
Thanks for the background. You are a true badass in the best possible way. Looks like you were an amazing biker. I ride a bike quite a bit but have never been a competitive biker. I have seen enough to know that can be a pretty self centered crowd. Great pictures of a young you. I agree with prior comment by gaz0463 that you are a very remarkable and wise young lady. Sounds like you have a fantastic relationship with your parents, particularly your dad. I have three grown daughters and have a good relationship with them all, but nothing like you seem to have with your dad. I have watched many of your videos and look forward to many more. I am in Vermont USA and a healthy 73 years old. Just saying that you reach a wide and diverse audience.
It's a very courageous to be authentic and its great you demonstrate the objective in life should be personal happiness! I'm pleased you've found it with your Girl Outdoors RUclips Channel. Thanks.
Mad world.... Think about advancing your career. Covid stopped so much contests. Or made it so difficult to compede. I listend to an interview with a german football trainer some months ago. He said that there will be a gap in the next years because so much young folks not only in football lost the importat years between aorund 16/17 to 19 on their way to a professional career. (I think it´s time to mention, that being your follower improves my english so much... )
Thanks Becky having only just found you I found this interesting. Particularly as I am both a keen cyclist motorcyclist and recently fishing. Its only taken me 71 years to realise how wonderful fishing is. As you said life flies by. If you ever want inspiration to become a motorcycle traveller look up Itchy Boots like you a young lady with spirit. Going to now have to find your dad's channel.
Awsome story similar to my own as a competitive cyclist too once upon a time completely understood where you were coming from with the pressures of it all. Great videos awsome editing style aswell look forward to your future vids. keep up the good work. 👍
What a great achiever you are, even though this clip was 6 years ago you still feel the same. I'm glad I discovered your channel and I wish you all the best for your future
Hello from New Zealand. I like your videos. So many people have well ordered lives and feel discomfort all to easily. In New Zealand we call 'hiking ' Tramping (the Brits called it that right up until the forties ) the word came out with the pioneers and stayed. In 2021 I did 67 'tramps' ,most were day tramps but also some 5 day ones. I have the time and would not want to do anything else. Over here we have huge forests and is a real test of bush craft, many think that they can do it until you drop them off into the NZ bush for 7 days. and they don't see a road or people in all they time. I am sure that you would do very well, You would know by now that 'going bush' keeps you sane in these mad times. Keep it up and one day if you come out this way the mountains and bush will be waiting. Keep the videos coming.
If you can achieve that high a level with something you don't really love, just think of what you can achieve with something you do! 10k today 100k tomorrow! Thanks for bringing us along Becky. If you ever want to come to Vancouver Island and hike the West Coast Trail, count me in, I'll meet you at the beach!
Becky your not a sheep ... you little rebel 😉😜😂 I love your independent style .... it’s refreshing to see some one young embarking on a journey they’ve chosen for themselves, maybe you could give us some fishing and even cycling tips for us armchair subscribers with best wishes for the future 😉🙏👍
Hi, my athletic career, mountain rescue and a hut warden took me fitting it between taking my daughter gymnastics but she rock climbed when she was 8-9 like you she became an amazing gymnast but she like you found top status weren't healthy and she looks back at the long hours falling asleep in the car aged 8 driving back from the gym. She said she wouldn't put her girls through the hard regime she experienced. I think I put too much pressure on her selfishly because I was successful in my sport. God bless you enjoying yourself but don't blame Mum and dad they must be proud of you. X
Being able to self-analyse, self 'critique' is a very useful, even essential, asset to have. Elite sport is a strange beast - it isn't just cycling but many sports. I find it quite bizarre that the people running things don't grasp that people's happiness, especially young people, is absolutely central to them doing well. I'm quite cynical regarding the people in charge - I suspect that their failings are rooted in their own egos - either looking back, fixated on their own 'past glories', or perhaps, re-living their own lives through others - and resenting the new folk being better than they were. Like Academia, ego is the kiss of death to integrity. You were right to get out of it. Gravel bikes, for fun!, might float your boat more?
You should try watching this youtuber , he hasn't been doing it long and got 10,000 subs resently his name is Mathew Posa.check him out , i think you'll love Montey..
Hell-o from Arkansas, I love your calm presence. Stay focused on who you are and not what others imagine you should be. Life can come fast sometimes so stay calm and work through it. Be yourself!
Now wonder you can walk very long distances cycling would have given you a base fitness very good video keep on doing these videos l am from Australia xxx
I realize that this is one of your older videos, but I just discovered it tonight, and I am glad that I did! For such a young woman, you have a vast amount of common sense, and you have a great understanding of life and what you would like to do with yours while moving forward!
its a shame you gave up riding , in my photo you see me finishing the london to brighton ride ,i ride when i can but my bike is a bmc slr03 bike ,, lots of money , but quality comes at a price ,same as camera equipment you use to do videos well done you for what your doing

Am I subscriber 10,001? :O) Great video. First a great biking career and now your growing RUclips base...I think success is just part of your DNA. Congrats!
Thanks for sharing. Sometimes that's real hard to do in a setting like this. Congrats on your success. Btw a great channel for you to check out if you haven't already is Justin Barbour. He's a fellow Canadian from Newfoundland who does great outings in the wilderness with his dog Saku. He has a few epic long voyages that I think are second to none. Take care and have a good one.
WOW! I was not aware of your cycling achievements! You should never short-sell them because of a corrupt Olympic committee...your achievements BELONG TO YOU! I know...I began playing music when I was 9 years old...in bands, in public, at 9 years old...I came from a poor family but had impressed a local music store owner with some abilities so they aided me with instrument...after a very few years I had performed for audiences of more than 10,000 and with standing ovations...to matter not...the powers that were then selected their *stars* by whom they liked rather than by proven accomplishment, so we were left eating dog food and stealing guitar strings...honestly...so much for America...the land of the brave was the same when I was shooting the Olympic Recurve Bow...just Pious retort and push for what would bound the pockets of those who command the possibles...I have such LOVE for you and those who I have worked with who have actually known the reality that has been hidden...I hope that our comments will open the eyes of those who have been blinded by the corrupt media. Sending all love from the Great Smoky Mountains >>>*^^>*^^
+Girl Outdoors Awesome background video. A real super athlete. That's awesome. Even after all that you are still super awesome. Really enjoyed the early pictures and videos. We all have a better perspective about Becky and thanks for that. You can go on now and add humanitarian to your accomplishments with your trip to Romania.Something more which to build your character and confidence. Congratulations on 10k subs! Be safe and have fun. See you soon. ATB
I am delighted to see young women like you, and your sister, take interest in the outdoors. I believe the both of you are becoming excellent role models for young girls. You are both wise beyond your years. I just subscribed to your dad's channel and look forward to seeing his videos. He, and your mom, deserve kudos for raising kids like you.
Absolutely Brilliant path you have chosen. To be free in nature and sharing your skills with others ... you are a natural gifted bushcrafter. Maybe you can do a hammock camp with a Dakota fire hole sometime. It is fun to set up and and do a 3 day 3 night, smoothing it- PEACE
"Don't want to see a wild bird caged" wise words from such a fresh faced darling. Possibly a metaphor that cycling became Becky's cage? Becky and Ragnar thanks .
When I was growing up (80s) my father, brother and I raced track and road. We would ride and race on the weekends. I went to private school and would ride at least 25 miles a day I remember how hard it was. I would be very tired after my ride and would need to shower, eat and do homework. I would be so tired in the mornings. It was rewarding but a truly grueling lifestyle. I still have my very first road bike, it's a Lotus. Still ride it to this day even though it's a 19" frame 😂. My father is 79 and is in great shape because of his passion for cycling. For those of you who don't know much about cycling, for Becky to win on a national level means she was a tremendous athlete! Thank you for sharing, what a wonderful surprise to learn about your cycling career! 🔥🤙🏼
I have newfound respect for crows after watching several documentaries on RUclips. They are very smart, able to use and make tools from wood to gather insects. They love to watch people and play mischief games on people. Like steal people’s stuff and either take it or hide them. Naughty but fun birds. They can also show great affection to people who feed them by bringing little trinkets to them. This one girl got a little squid 🦑 toy from a crow once. How interesting 🤔🤪
Just watched this.. absolutely quality. You do you young lady... as i love your vids and follow you on Insta. Yep Moocher73 is me. You and a few others have got me wanting to start a channel
Thank you for sharing Becky! Good luck with the crow, they are smarter than most birds so has a better chance of repatriating himself to nature. A good starting point for US trails - www.backpacker.com/trips/map-americas-long-trails Keep smiling because it makes me smile ;>)
From my perspective, your outdoors adventures is a good fit for you. Your camping videos are fantastic. Too much competition can be detrimental to ones well being. Please continue your camping adventure as it will be well with and for you. Have a super grand day.

I find it quite bizarre that the people running things don't grasp that people's happiness,
especially young people, is absolutely central to them doing well.
I'm quite cynical regarding the people in charge - I suspect that their failings
are rooted in their own egos - either
looking back, fixated on their own 'past glories', or perhaps, re-living their own
lives through others - and resenting the new folk being better than they were.
Like Academia, ego is the kiss of death to integrity.
You were right to get out of it. Gravel bikes, for fun!, might float your boat more?
10 k subs when you made this. Look at you now! :-) Well done! (I'm on 217 after 7 months haha! Got any tips?)
If you had 10,000 subs a year ago how did you get 50,000 subscribers in one year that’s over 4000 subscribers per month
You should try watching this youtuber , he hasn't been doing it long and got 10,000 subs resently his name is Mathew Posa.check him out , i think you'll love Montey..

Great experience to share. I am a teacher in Indonesia. If you allow me, I'd love to share the vide with my students as part of teaching materials
I realize that this is one of your older videos, but I just discovered it tonight, and I am glad that I did! For such a young woman, you have a vast amount of common sense, and you have a great understanding of life and what you would like to do with yours while moving forward!

Thank you for sharing you stories, you must be really talented but at the end of the day its not what it makes out to be. Thank you and take care :)

Thank you very much for your lovely comment, means a lot. Take care my friend :)
Thank you very much, yeah great idea. Will have to do that :)
"Don't want to see a wild bird caged" wise words from such a fresh faced darling. Possibly a metaphor that cycling became Becky's cage? Becky and Ragnar thanks .
Thank you, yes that is true! Take care
A lo mejor no hablas español pero el video esta genial todo es mejor en el campo y naturaleza
i cycle alot ..its the only sport i enjoy but offroad . weldone you escaped the rat race
Thank you very much for your lovely comment, i really appreicate it.
Yeah i understand, it is a tough but very rewarding sport. Take care :)
Have fun on your trip and be careful...That’s an awesome thing your doing...You have a good head on your shoulders...🙂.....T.Gunz.....
Thank you very much :) take care
I have newfound respect for crows after watching several documentaries on RUclips. They are very smart, able to use and make tools from wood to gather insects. They love to watch people and play mischief games on people. Like steal people’s stuff and either take it or hide them. Naughty but fun birds. They can also show great affection to people who feed them by bringing little trinkets to them. This one girl got a little squid 🦑 toy from a crow once. How interesting 🤔🤪
aha love that, yeah they are great birds! Ragnar had soo much charater, always made me gigglel. Shame hes gone now :/

From my perspective, your outdoors adventures is a good fit for you. Your camping videos are fantastic. Too much competition can be detrimental to ones well being. Please continue your camping adventure as it will be well with and for you. Have a super grand day.
