    This is the first espresso machine I’ve bought. I used to work as a coffee barista and loved making coffee and thought this was the best way to save money on coffee overall rather than going to coffee shops frequently. I’m also a college student on a budget, so this was perfect for me. I still use it almost daily and I’d recommend it to anyone else in a similar position. It doesn’t make the best espresso, but for what you pay it’s very good. I can’t wait to upgrade to a better machine but this one will last me years.

      With a few added accessories and a replacement bottomless portafilter, at not much additional cost, you can get even better espresso from it. Hard to beat in terms of bang-for-buck, especially for easy at-home use.

    Just bought a Stilosa. Even for an espresso aficionado, this machine has some major advantages. It heats up in a couple minutes and quickly makes a decent espresso or americano with a minimal amount of coffee. I once owned a higher-end machine that had a pump and its own water connection. It took 15 minutes to heat up and cost many times what I paid for the Stilosa (which I can put back in the box and take with me on road trips). If you are in the market for a machine, the higher-end might tempt you but it really isn't practical for home use unless you have several people using it.

    I've had mine for a few months now, it works pretty well. I feel like its very loud and mine pours so slow if I tamp the espresso like I was used to working as a barista. It does the job and the coffee tastes good! Easy price point.

    Its important to heat thecup first. For esoresso shot or cappuccino. Also if the milk is at room temperature it dies froth better and faster. I cut off the water in 15 seconds for single shots. Also the coffee quality is the key, and need to be grinded fine, if you buy the soresdo beans.

    5:00: if he can’t say the inexpensive mass-produced machine makes crappy espresso, then it’s making good espresso. The shot looked fine…. seems it would only need a proper grind of some good coffee to make a really good espresso. Bonus: with the water dispenser configured as it is, you can probably even do pre-infusion by twisting that side control as you introduce water into the portafilter.

    • @user-lv7ph7hs7l
      @user-lv7ph7hs7l 3 года назад

      I think it preinfuses a little. Takes a while before it hits with full pressure. I like it a lot since it's my first one and I just wanted something to make cappuccino. In hindsight I would have gotten the EC230 without the pressurized basket and the modern steamer but it's probably the best thing you can get for that price range, a lot of machines around 100 bucks are shit. A friend has a 3000 euro machine and yes it's way way better. But it makes good coffee, still dialing in everything and the steamer is fine once you get used to it. Next machine will probably be in the 500 euro range after I've used this for a year or two.

    • @user-lv7ph7hs7l
      @user-lv7ph7hs7l 3 года назад

      But if you can afford it, a ~200 euro machine might be a sweet spot before you get to 500 or so, where you can get something much better for not that much more money. So this one if that's all you can afford otherwise I would watch a lot of reviews of sloghtly more expensive ones because there are some gems.

      @@AM-nv5ww We always like tried and true. You may have a hard time finding the older model as we have not seen them in a while.

    • @fuzzylilpeach6591
      @fuzzylilpeach6591 4 года назад +1

      I think the biggest difference I noticed was the steam wand. The ec155 has a panerello (might have spelled that wrong) which is built to be easy to use and helps if you just want hot foamy milk but not great if you want to play around with milk texture but this newer model appears to have a manual which is good if you do. Also I don't remember the exact sizes but I think the newer model has a smaller water tank? But yeah honestly they are both pretty similar. I feel like there must be some internal change for it to have a totally different name since on the outside it's so similar apart from the wand.
      Another thing is if you want to get into modifying or upgrading the machine with different parts, if you need to replace something or get it serviced, the ec155 is definitely the better pick.

    • @philsipad
      @philsipad 3 года назад +24

      I just got this machine to replace an EC155 that finally broke after eight years. There are numerous differences.
      1. The filters click into the portafilter and no longer need a lever on the handle to stop the filters from falling out when you try to tap out the coffee ground.
      2. The 2 shot filter is actually big enough for 2 shots. The EC155 two shot filter is way too small.
      3. You can see the water tank water level much easier.
      4. The water tank actually holds more water, but only by a little.
      5. The frother is controlled by a lever on the right instead of a knob on the top, freeing up top space for warming cups, and is faster to operate.
      6. More space under portafilter to accommodate taller cups.
      7. Does not have a built-in tamper.
      8. Frother is on the right side.
      9. Frother nozzle seems much easier to clean, making it more sanitary.
      10. Has a slightly large footprint.
      11. Does not vibrate as much, you no longer need to hold the espresso cup in place during extraction.
      All in all, the Stilosa is better in every way, except for the frother being on the right side. I would not buy a EC155 again.

      You need to "dial in"your espresso grind with your grinder, then correct the amount and tamp. It takes some practice but this machine lacks a 3-way solenoid valve that will help to soak up the excess water so you may still end up with a soupy puck!

    I love coffee but can’t stand the way the keurig we have makes it, it tastes so diluted and bland even using good coffee and reusable pods. Really looking into something like this since I only drink coffee on the weekends when I can sit and enjoy it. Really like the milk frothing part on it, hopefully I can hook my wife on it bc she likes a lot of cream and flavorings added. Personally I like a quarter spoon or less sugar black coffee and I love getting straight espresso when we are out. It’s so smooth and easy to drink plus it gets the job done too. I’ll have 2-3 shots before work and be good to go for the day

    • @ecscoffeeinc
      @ecscoffeeinc  3 года назад +1

      There is no place to put the milk in the machine. You won't find that in this price point. The milk goes into a frothing pitcher and the wand puts steam into the pitcher and then you pour into your mug./cup

    • @SHORT-FRIDAYS
      @SHORT-FRIDAYS 3 года назад

      So if I fill the clear container with max water and fill the handle with espresso fine will the machine automatically only make 1 shot of espresso or I have to eye it up and stop the machine? I noticed just now it used all of the water in the container so filled up my entire cup. And after my shot is done when I open up the handle the entire thing is still full of fine espresso grinds but wet. Am I supposed to have that in the handle still after I'm finished?

    • @ecscoffeeinc
      @ecscoffeeinc  2 года назад

      Hi Jamie, A finer grind will not make a bigger shot. The grind affects the quality of the brew. If too coarse, the water goes through quickly and you do not get espresso. If too fine, the water cannot pass through the coffee and you will get a low volume shot, if any. If you are buying pods as a beginner you are looking for ese pods only. and make sure the machine has an adaptor.

    I just received an "entry level" machine, similar in functions and price.

    The cafe con leche coffee to milk ratio is standard at 1:1.

      yes I think he mentioned that about 10 times, LOL… I don’t have one, been doing some research and this brand seems to be very good quality even at the entry level

    I find it quite insulting, as a pensioner, that you keep on referring to this as an "entry level" machine. I love mine and it saves me a fortune

    • @ecscoffeeinc
      @ecscoffeeinc  11 месяцев назад

      Entry level does not refer to the quality of drink you can make, nor how "good" the machine is! It simply means that this machine is suitable for beginners, and makes the espresso making process easy, affordable, and accessible! Machines similar to this can sometimes be a persons forever machine, but it could also open up the gateway to more involved or professional style espresso machines :)
      We are glad you are enjoying yours! It's a really great one :)

      @@ecscoffeeinc Good afternoon, thank you for your prompt response . Please advise what could be a “ upgrade” on this machine?. When I grew up there was just coffee, black or white, none of this fancy named stuff

      @@betchaanbetjane7045 The DeLonghi LaSepcialista Arte would be considered an upgrade, or the Breville Barista Express :) But there are many other machines to look at as well :)
