Trading in my 2010 the second this thing comes out, big big fan.
2013 is a big year for cars. So many cars have been redesigned for 2013!
Those wheels ... So nice
my god...am I the only one who likes what they did to the exterior?! :D
for the 2010 model i was wishing the grill was abit bigger but now wtf lol its massive!!
nice hyundai is getting better and better
me too. having a 3.9+gpa throughout my freshman and sophomore year really helps. next year i get to buy the 2013 2.0t r spec, they pay 20k i pay the rest. i already have most of my end
of course! =]
Fast car love it
Good man.
this car may not be as fast as some other high performance sports cars but the looks are just seductive
great job hyundai
hope people make an aftermarket body kit for this car soon,
@frznman Its actually not the same powerplant (which is weird but anyway). The Genesis uses a port directed engine with a twin scroll turbo. The Sonata/Optima uses a direct injected engine with a single scroll turbo (im pretty sure its a single scroll unit.) They probably uses the port injected unit for the Genisis purly on heat managment, direct injected engines run very hot, so in spirited driving that the Genesis will see the port injected engine will cooler fro longer.
I'd LOVE to see a new tiburon
:O OMG i had the old genesis and i thought that was nice but good lord this one looks massive aggressive :D
its funny the way he said "out"
Appreciate what your parents are doing and work hard so you can do the same for your children.
I love how some car manufactures go so bold in there car designs instead of playing it safe and making a bland looking car.
oh good a kid is getting this car^^
remember the times of Hyundai Pony? Forget them... this is new Hyundai.
@ruigoncalves2 the more gears is usually for fuel efficiency and not because of performance
new genesis coupe is a win!
@Niccaz2005
the older model looks like 10x better... well i want the old genesis coupe with the new 3.8L
@damrak1969 You have no idea. It's much bolder and exciting. Get in one and feel the essence of new Genesis.
@Diamondsarekewl fisrt of all congrats im sure youll enjoy it a lot
i just wanna say that if it was my id pick the 2.0 even if my mom could afford the 3.8 just because i wouldnt wanna impact the economy of my family with such an expensive car but thats just my opinion and again congrats on your future car
As for the front, i think it'll grow on me, not hating on it just looks like a cracked out evo/audi front grill if that makes any sense. the only thing i really thought was unnecessary were the hood scoops ehhhh. anywho i'd love to see this in black, sure the grill would blend right in :D
@Diamondsarekewl I'm jealous. Congrats on your family's wealth, don't take it for granted.
In motortrend mag it says that it will be available in spring 2012.
front view reminds me mazda3 smile
its tighter :P
I absolutely love my 2013 Hyundai Genesis 2.0T R/SPEC - My favorite car to date...
IN TWO YEARS, maybe a v-8 coupe will be here, lets hope:)
that shit goes hard.
NOW WE RE TALKING!
I wouldn't really say wealth... but he definitely is lucky compared to most.
i like the better quality interior... i like the 8 gearbox.. i like the multi TCS switch.. i like the guages .. but i like my 2011 gencoupe alot more .. not ignorance.. but my cars face is cute.. this .. i can't even look at it...
i am just a little bit curious about how they will go on with prices.
Other than that i cannot wait i'm definetly getting one of these cars.
🤽♂️
the looks isn't much of a deal. the car looks amazing except that hexagonal grill part, u could just fix that somehow. Most important thing is that it has an engine upgrade, better interior and 8 speed auto
when is going to be available in the dealers?
i hope so... the 5.0 r-spec... from the genesis sedan
@Diamondsarekewl Lucky you, I can get my license in November giving minimal time to get my grades up in order to get this car for possibly Christmas.
I want one, but wouldn't be in love with its looks. Seems like Hyundai designers only care about cramming as many flared lines onto the car as possible and it looks like its way over done. I like the more subtle looks and profiles of the older generation sports cars.
like every thing except front
@TheHoth1 Yes, I would love it if Honda made something like the 3.8L RWD Gen. Coupe, but they don't NEED to from a marketing perspective. Think about it, Honda has been sitting without a V6 RWD Coupe for many years while Nissan runs free with the 350Z (and now 370Z). Just remember that RWD Sport Coupes are somewhat of a niche market, and the boring-by-comparison cars are the bread&butter money makers for the company.
i can get a infiniti g37 if you want me too ^_^ i already decided to get the 2012 genesis coupe not the 2013 or the 1 series, it have more parts to it
@Litoaznboi415 koreanautoimports is going to gave the alot of aftermarket stuff out for it as soon as this car hits the dealers.
@LIPOs6S0001 actually i like the fact that i hardly see anyone drive it, makes you feel a bit unique in some strange way. And i believe the reason as to why you probably havent seen much of them is merely because people are just getting warm upped to Hyundai improvements. The Name Hyundai is no longer synonymous with POS anymore...
@Diamondsarekewl i'm getting one too :]
@Xentradi97 I was refering to isukaman's question of "How is it that the Korean and Japanese car makers are able to get more hp from their 6 cylinder engines than US car makers?".
@isukaman The simple answer would be that the Japanese have a long history of squeezing every last HP out of an engine before resorting to upping the engine's displacement.
It looks pretty cool, not really a fan of the grill though.
Obviosuly things worked out for your parents.. and thats not a bad thing! Gotta work to get it! When Im old enough, ill be doing the same for my kids if I can!
This will be interesting going head to head with 2013 Genesis vs. the new 86 Toyota. Seeing how Toyota put Subaru engine with some Scion and Toyota mixed together, I don't think people are too pleasent about it. :P Besides you get extra 70-80 horse power with the Genesis. For now if Toyota don't do something Genesis will take over the legendary car..
@isukaman American cars never really cared about fuel or engine efficiency. Priority was in POWER. Especially for American muscle cars. Maybe they have a thing with Oil companies so they can sell more oil to the public.
Not big fan of new front end - the old one had much better lines, but cheep details. Luckily you can swap old front to a 2013 gen. (fenders are same - just need to replace hood headlight and some nice 2010 aftermarket bumper)
Car is completely overhauled - stiffer frame , revised suspension, steering and engine... cant wait for performance numbers...v6 should beat mustang in handling without problems.
Designers working for Honda and Toyota are probably sweating bullets now.....Nothing in Honda and Toyota's lineup comes close to this car. It looks great! It is the kind of car we have been hoping Honda to make. Oh no, Honda has to make the gutless CR-Z. Yuck!
I want one naaao!!
I love it all but the not-functionnal air traps on the hood...I mean come on you put them there, atleast use them?
@MrSh1ftn And what about the Nissan V-6s like the G37's engine? If you don't know the answer, you need not reply.
shit im getting one of these :-)
3.8 ENGINE IS IT SAME WITH R35?
i wonder when Hyundai will put the 5.0 V8 engine into genesis coupe
@bigban1989 Still not as catfish-looking as the 4th gen Mitsu Eclipse.
@MrSh1ftn How does Hyundai engineers get more hp and more mpg from their 2.4 and 3.8 then GM gets out of their 2\.4 and 3.6? The Genesis coupe is lighter than the Camaro but I doubt the Sonata weighs less than the Malibu. So how do they do it? Is the answer better engineers?
How? Tell me why.
Guy at 1:26 "OH FUCK"
Boy am I one lucky teen. This may make me seem very spoiled, however, when I asked my mother what car she will be getting me once I start driving (2 years from now) , she said she will be buying me a new Hyundai Genesis coupe 3.8
Only because I have been doing so well in school though. If I were to get bad grades she would not even get me a car.
Not really liking the new look.
I think the current car looks better,
Thou I do like the new found power.
Now if they would just lower the price point to match the car better they would sell a lot of them!
Oh and why can I still not get the V8 in the coupe?
@FiredEmpire Dude, what does Mazda have to do with this?
cuz i own an Audi R8 V10 ..thats why
if there are some decent aftermarket grills to make the ugly stock one go away ill consider it
I wish they had left the exterior alone. The HP increases and interior improvements alone would have been plenty. Right now I'm thinking I might need to see how a black paint job hides some of the mess of this new design before I consider a test drive.
you know what would be awesome? a '02 hyundai tiburon with the 3.8V6 from the genesis coupe... i would jizz all over it.
1:24 this
whats wrong with the old Genesis? i personally prefer the front design of the old genesis. Not saying i don't like this one tho
How is it that the Korean and Japanese car makers are able to get more hp from their 6 cylinder engines than US car makers? Honda was able to produce 305 hp from its 3.5 liter engine years before GM and Ford were able to match that with their V-6s. Hyundai claims its 2.4 liter 4 has 200 hp and gets 35 mpg. GM claims its 2.4 DI 4 has 180 hp and gets only 32 mpg. Does Honda and Hyundai just have better engineers working for them?
Well I'm sorry if you can't afford one! I thought Americans are all about the hp and drag racing? Watch out everyone, we have a smartass in here LOL!
@gtsimulator wait for the v8 coupe, its coming
sorry for the people who went out an bought the first version of these cars haha
No V8? :(
Love itt but the front is horrible looks like the veloster :/
sir when you're trying to explain the vehicle can you at least say the company's name correctly?
you think your spoiled im going to a community college and my mom will get my a car 40k or less HA i feel spoil but a car is a car man i was thinking of this car the highest class or getting the 135i bmw
@b0rnball3r SORRY BUT WITH ALL THAT EXTRA HP ID TAKE THE NEW ONE , OVER THE 2011!
damn, look at all that orange peel in the paint
@HalfBreedMix Japanese? This ain't Japanese car. It's Korean.
hahaha... no, my old 91 buick has a 3.8....
fuck, the new front looks like a damn veloster... old genesis coupe looked better...
I'm confuse like shit. TOYOTA 86 OR HYUNDAI GENESIS? JESUS CHRIST
@FiredEmpire says u, get out of the 80's.
The front end is a completely rip of the Nissan GTR... Looks like a deformed version.
GT86 is ugly as hell. Plus, it's not even a sprts car, it has what, 200 hp? Genesis has much much more.
nooooooooooooo!!!.... looks good... kinda like a hot wheels car looks good. im sorry but that hood for example is garbage. at LEAST be funtional... i wouldn't want my car to look tough with plastic snap-in pieces on my hood like that. the back window swoop thing throws it off too. interior looks hot.. but thats it.
@bigban1989
its still branded by that dreaded Hyundai badge........
Hyundai should change their emblem. It's still associated with mediocre cars.
@Diamondsarekewl noone cares
The Hyundai looks even uglier IMO. Get a better car, get a fucken Mustang Cobra.
They ruined the face!!!
Oh well.. :P
