That was one of my favourite moments in Dr who watching Vincent van Gough realising he was going to be the one of the best artists of all time
Brings me to tears every time!
Yeah one of the best scenes ever.
Van Gogh's episode 🥹💔👏🏼
Gets us every time! 💔💔
@@DoctorWhototally! Since I watched it, became obsessed with Starry Night and actually have a "copy" that I DIYed 🤣
I loved the Van Gogh episode! Very touching showing a man ready to give up a glimpse into the knowledge of how well admired he was as one of the greatest men who had ever lived.
Vincent and the doctor one my favourite episodes of series 5
One of the best moments in all of Doctor Who. I cry every time I watch the scene where Van Gogh sees his work displayed.
Same here!
Here too!
You get me everytime with Vincent van Gogh - and you know it. 😭😅😂🤙🏼
Screw you for making me relive that Vincent scene oh my hod I cry every time
"Vincent and the Doctor" is, without doubt, one of the best historical episodes EVER!
One of my all time favourites- Vincent and the Doctor❤
Vincent and the Doctor. If you want an episode to tug at your heartstrings that is the one. One of my favourites.
Van Gogh's episode is a true Fave. . I like this host, hope this channel uses him more.
"Messing with another man's TARDIS, that'll cost you." Will it now? 😉
Brighter than sunflowers
I like that! 😀
Vincent and the Doctor.
My very first Doctor Who episode.
And to this day, ny favourite Doctor Who episode.
💙 💙
Interesting that the Monk is mentioned... I wonder if that'll be relevant 🤔
There's always a TWIST at the end! 👀
This is somewhat a good way to explain some historical figures and historical events :)
The Doctor and Ruby encounter a young actor Lee Jun Fan. While solving a mystery at a Hong Kong movie studio in 1949.
I loved Martha being the inspiration to Shakespeare. ❤❤❤
It´s ok, you can cry. We all cried.
Love these episodes!
going to the Van Gogh Museum hits different BECAUSE of Doctor Who.
This made me realize I now wanna watch Doctor Who in order of what year they have travelled to. Starting from ancient past and ending in distant future.
That sounds extremely chaotic with episodes that take place in many different time periods
Suprised the Doctor's involvement in the Great Fire of London wasn't mentioned
Sobbed at the Van Gogh episode - epic!
VINCENT AND THE DOCTOR !!!!
Don't forget Marco Polo that episode opened my eyes to the awesomeness to real history. In year 4 I did got 10out of 10 for a solo project about Marco Polo.
Back when doctor who was good
Love love love episode Vincent and the Doctor ❤
That said, if there were any Whouniverse justice to be done while Davies is in charge, we would see the Doctor go rescue Children captured by 456, and then bring 456 to justice via the Shadow Proclamation.
You wouldn’t have to make the episode(s) as dark as Torchwood, but still could make things right and finally have Doctor address his absence. I for one would love to c this all done before Davies is gone again. Think it would make for must watch Doctor Who “tv”.
Doctor WHO should do some things it's never done before with historicals, or at least not for a very long time. I want him to do El Dorado with Musica people and possibly Spanish invaders. I want him to meet Alexander the Great in India while he's losing the faith of his followers who want to turn back to Macedonia. I want the Doctor to battle wits with Shaka Zulu, maybe for fun throw in Umslopogaas as a character. In short I want something exciting that isn't Euro-Centric all the time.
Hey BBC, release 'Torchwood: Absent Friends'
well done
Adric was the "Wesley Crusher" of "Doctor Who", always fixing stuff, and not really that well-liked by fans...
😉 And he never changed his clothes. I bet he stunk the Tardis out.
OK BBC, you have GOT TO get Tyrell in to discuss nuance and how fiction can parallel reality through its stories. Have concepts which have very real world meanings hidden behind the masquerades of aliens, spooky unknowns and people who make decisions which seem to be incredibly bad ones from our point of view. Subtlety and inference allowing for ideas not often talked about or thought of yet. The actual essence of what entertaining stories are and why they last through the years.
I have full confidence that Tyrell can pull off such a set of video essays and I think it will have viewers, young and old alike, be able to discuss what they liked, or didn't like, about particular aspects of what they've watched or read - Doctor Who or otherwise.
no
@@gregevigan Why not?
I LIKE DOCTOR WHO
Whoever did the editing for this should have used different clips from the episodes... For someone new watching, you gave away the endings...
If I were to travel back in time, I would like to see the Apollo 11 launch in 1969 or meet Winston Churchill during the Second World War.
and it will turn out you will be the reason why Apollo 13 had an accident... But you'll have to make history happen
He has met Winston Churchill (and a variation of the Daleks) during WW2
You know I'll be real i haven't any of the Doctor Who 🥹 BUT when I discovered the Van Gough episode O got intrigued and just cried, goodness how I wish Time Travel esp in the hands of good people is real... 😭
4:50 I don't think new Doctor Who fans should be shown the show's lowest most altruistic moments?
Man I hope (if this character is the master, or somthing else happend to him) the one who waits is the meddeling monk😅
Have you noticed that rooftop sign announcing "Waites" at the end of the episode?
I think it's a clue because neither the Doctor nor Ruby seemed to see it.
@@norweminguerfochnare9921Do you think this spelling is part of why in an interview, Millie wondered if the spelling of Ruby's last name was a spoiler?
Ah look showing episodes when the show was good. New to Who? Go watch the classics. 3rd Doctor”Inferno” 4th Doctor Pyramids of Mars, Robots of Death.” 5th Doctor Earthshock, Resurrection of the Daleks. The list goes on and on. If the concept of the show interests you try classic who. Then go into nu who. Father’s Day, Blink, The 11th Hour, The Doctor’s Wife.
This new new version is a totally different show.
💔💔
IM SO EARLY
I prefer the Doctor's influence on history to be inadvertent, and NOT deliberate "Quantum Leap"-style. It's why I HATED "Rosa" (of course, more Chibnall crap)...
Yeah not, that always happen in Doctor Who.
It's disingenuous showing people older examples of the show as it bears little resemblance to the current version. The Van Gogh clips in particular...that episode wasn't so much about name-dropping dear Vincent, but was in fact a well-structured character drama that built your engagement with the persona of VIncent Van Gogh and his struggles with mental illness, leading to the heartwarming payoff of the visit to the Musee d'Orsay, followed immediately by the heartbreaking realization that nothing was "fixed". Because, how could it? Great stuff. The modern show can still be enjoyed, but it's much more superficial. More like popcorn---nothing wrong with popcorn, but I wouldn't show you a porterhouse steak as an example of how you'll enjoy the popcorn.
Don't just watch TV shows you like... give yourself homework. Study all the details. You don't want to be geeking out in the fandom and suddenly not know one thing someone is talking about. You'll be so embarrassed and lose all your cred! Watch these videos!!
I agree
Spoiler - no one will watch this rubbish.
I can't relate to the presenter because he doesn't look like me, them's the rules
🙄
Amazing stuff shame its crap now. RIP Doctor Who. The viewers have spoken.
Deberías darle una oportunidad, yo tampoco tenía muchas esperanzas y sin embargo me han gustado los dos episodios de la nueva temporada
@@norweminguerfochnare9921 then you have bad taste
@@norweminguerfochnare9921 clearly nobody else liked the last 2 episodes
The viewers have been hating whatever is new in Doctor Who since the dawn of time. It's been sixty years and you still aren't special.
@@gunmasterx1164From what I've read in the comments, many of them only watched review videos instead of having their own opinion. They hate something just to see some clips.
Dr Who was one of those programs you just had to watch on on a Saturday evening
along with Juke Box Jury. It's had some highs and low's, and I didn't think it could
get any worse having that Whittaker woman as the Doctor. I was sadly mistaken.
The latest incarnation is pure woke drivel, and to be honest, Unwatchable.
Doctor Who has always been "woke".
@@HB-fq9nn Not in the sense the way the meaning of the word is used now.
"that Whittaker woman as the Doctor" 🙄 That says all I need to know about you.
@@hopebgood and about her
I miss this show... It used to be an entertaining masterpiece for decades.
We need more showrunners like Vince Gilligan, who once said that he wouldn't put politics and forced ideologies into his stories as it would only devide the audience...
Still, even without those aspects, Russell's storytelling skills have gone down the gutter.
