      Speaking as a product design engineer, I can confirm that the root cause was not an engineering oversight, rather it was the lack of a complete set of product requirements. 🤣 🤣 🤣

      @@Acceleronics As a former Business Analyst/Requirements Manager, the requirement was likely in the documentation but was ignored by the Tech Lead; who built it before the requirements were complete. QA was skipped entirely and UAT was done by different roles than the actual end user. ;)

    The fact that they basically solved world peace (nobody’s killing each other) and managed to make all that technology but still had that major of a design flaw is hilarious. Fortunately, we won’t ever be in that much danger because we can calculate if a meteor might collide with us. Thanks NASA, you have been redeemed for all the animals you sent to space.

    the moment I saw the hand activation method, I knew how it'd end.
    you'd think being dinosaurs they'd use a different type of authentication: sound, feet, tails, things that'd be able to accomodate any type of sentient dino since the a good amount of the Big theropods had very short arms!
    Also gonna mention my favorite detail in this is the General is an Ankylosaur, it just works perfectly XD

      That joke has always been dumb. Why not make a cartoon of a human trying to bring down a Triceratops or an Edmontosaurus with a bite? Or of a human trying to identify a single member of its species in a crowded auditorium with a single whiff? Because T.rex could do both of those things. Man is not the measure of all things, least of all Tyrannosaurus rex.

    HR said that the command center had to be at least 85% accessible, so they made the wall open up for big dinos, made the console computers small enough to see around the room, and made the front screen large enough to be viewed without perfect vision correction. An internal review revealed that the front authentication console included an accessibility oversight, however.

    something i personally admired was how the glasses on the dinosaurs actually worked as glasses, like at 1:35 you can see how realistic the magnification on them are without being too close to the typical cartoony way it’s done. that’s something i’ve been looking for recently that i think is really impressive

      That's the difference between hand-drawn and modern computer rendered animation. Photorealistic effects such as image magnification through curved glass occur naturally as a consequence of the fact that the laws of reflection and refraction are an essential part of the raytracing mechanics. We are just getting better at recreating the laws of physics.

    Love all the details in this. The water cup, the Wilhem scream, the Austin Powers absurd amount of time the elevator took, the fact they have HD screens and holo tablets but also use vintage computers for the engineers who happen to be Raptors for having a larger cognitive capacity (archeologists think so)

      Amazing, but inaccurate. The shockwave would propogate at the speed of sound in the material. Looks like a steel floor. Assuming they were 10 meters away from each other, that would only be .003 seconds, well less than the .03 seconds per video frame. I know right, who would have expected such inaccuracies in a short about dinosaur space agencies?
