    I have a Breville Infuser that I’ve had for 3 1/2 years. I really like the quality of the shots if I get the tamping pressure right. I get frustrated with the difference between how the beans grind and brew from one batch to another. I have to adjust grind and tamp pressure every time I get a new batch. How do the super automatics deal with that? Looks like the Philips is the one I would want since I mostly do Americanos and straight shots with the occasional latte or cappuccino. Do you have in shop demos? I would love to try the 3200 out before buying. It would be nice to get questions asked about my preferences and methods of obtaining good results as well. Great comparison. I love all your vids.

    The problem I had with Philips/Saeco was with the milk frother. The milk was heated inside the machine, which caused clogging. Does the heating of the milk in DeLonghi take place in the container and the heating element is just heated by the connection to the machine?

    Gail just as a heads up the Delonghi you can control the temp, it's in the manual how to do it. (requires holding a couple of the buttons etc takes a minute or two) However I have not been thrilled with the taste of the coffee lately, I bought the machine (Dinamica True Brew) about a month ago and it was very good at first but now the Illy coffee seems to be getting more and more bland I even stepped up to a more robust bean they use and haven't noticed a difference. I am wondering if this is due to the lack of temperature when it brews, any insight ?

    I am in two minds about this subject, on one side i dont need any effort and time, in the other hand i think the crema by selfmade is better, but is it worth the extra work and time ? Especially in the morning ? When u have limited time and so on..........
    So if anybody have a advise a would be grateful.

      I would go with lattego from Phillips because the app just works better, so you got options to create your own drinks, this way you have endless possibilities. But if you’re going with de’longhi, I would say get the manual one and buy any cheap automatic milk frother because the automatic one is double the price and the app is not reliable.

    on the Phillips how do you make two regular coffees, do you put a cup under than wait, then put another cup under, and how many scoops do you use

    • @SeattleCoffeeGear
      @SeattleCoffeeGear  6 месяцев назад

      Hi there!
      The closest thing to a "regular coffee" that the Philips makes is a lungo, which is a long espresso shot that approximates the flavor of a drip coffee by using more water with the espresso. To do this you'd pull one complete lungo, then replace the cup and pull another one. The best option is to use whole bean coffee in the grinder, and the machine will do the dosing, but there are instructions with the machine that tell you how to use the passthrough grinder and the appropriate volume.

    This might seem like a very dumb question. But on the dinamica since it has the setting for the iced coffee, if you put a scoop of tea in the slot for pre-ground, could you make an iced tea? Again this might be really dumb.

    • @Kevtbynumi
      @Kevtbynumi 4 года назад

      Thats not that dumb of a question. This machine compresses and steams the grounds to extract flavour, Generally it would be rather difficult to get enough tea in there for it to properly compress (without it becoming overly bitter) but the larger problem would be that tea isn't really supposed to be boiled and so the steam would make the tea rather bitter. (not to mention the fact that this method wouldn't give the water enough time to make a decent tea) But yeah if you want easy delicious ice tea, do a cold brew tea recipe.

    • @Kevtbynumi
      @Kevtbynumi 4 года назад +2

      ok never mind, David's Tea sells a version of tea that is designed for espresso machines. Im not sure it could work, but it is apparently a thing?

    • @josephmclord
      @josephmclord 2 года назад

      Since the way the machine brews coffee for coffee over ice (which they call true brew) won’t translate properly to tea even if you try this method. Since they are extracting a stronger and longer dose with less water as to not water it down and use water from the ice to provide you with the liquid. Best use can do is get hot water from the machine over lots of leaves and add the water concentration over ice ( trust me it creates best ice tea ! Use a gram more than what you would use for hot tea)

      I have the Philips 4300 which is pretty much the same with an added milk foaming automation cup branded Lattego. I'd choose by which type of drink you make most often. I feel like the Delonghi has a slight edge for espressos - especially if you want larger volumes. It seems to pack the grounds more tightly. But for almost all others and especially milk drinks the temperature control is where Delonghi needs some improvement. If you want real push button and go functionality, I choose a Philips Lattego - mainly because of price difference for anything comparable - but it's still an expensive upgrade. Of every review I've seen, it makes the best foam of every truly automatic foamer out there. At $10 a day savings for 2 of us, it takes mere months to pay off the machine.
