You have beautiful plants, I have been buying plants for 5 months now, and I must say how bloody addictive it is, I keep saying every time I buy a plant that its my last one😂
Ha! You're just getting started! You should have picked a more inexpensive habit...like drugs. I would literally choose plants over food if only given one choice.
With a north facing basement. You have truly mastered the art of gardening/plantation. Hats off. ❤️ (Virtual Standing ovation coming your way) Even with a east facing balcony and a living room with a huge east window I cannot get my plants to be this happy as they are in your bedroom. I aspire to be you. Someday. Someday. Wish me luck ❤️
You are my soul sister! We both have plants in every place we can! Love your channel and Yoli! One of my pups is obsessed with my plants so I've had to move them all up higher than she can't reach 🤣 I hope she grows out of this as she grows up!
Awer Claire I absolutely love seeing all ur beautiful plants . Am off to get my ikea large glass cabinet tomorrow 😊can’t wait to put my drama babies in there x
That shrieking plant would've been hurled across the room or banished to some dark corner. I spook too easily! Thanks for showing your problem plants, we all need a dose of reality from time to time.
Loving your videos, they are so calming 😊 I've been binge watching them since I've been back into plants. They got me through the pandemic so plants have a special place in my heart. You have an amazing collection, if only I had more space 😩💖🪷
Your plants looks fresh and beautiful almost like plastic. No dust on the leaves at all. Ma'am how do you maintain them ? Please make a video to show how you water these potted plants and how it's kept beautifully shiny
That's very kind of you, thank you - I take the best care I can of them, but as you can see some have issues from time to time. I've made a video all about watering, and I always try to dust/wipe their leaves on a regular basis ☺️
i love your collection, so many gorgeous plants! i know you're probably not looking for advice but i would suggest using a soilless potting mix (orchid bark, perlite, worm casting), or a passive semi hydropon like perlite or leca!
Thank you! I've been meaning to transfer lots of my downstairs lot into pon for quite a while now - upstairs lots of my plants are either in moss, leca or pon (lots of perlite prop boxes too)!
@@NanaOkani It's just a really great substrate - it contains lots of nutrients that plants need for healthy growth, whilst always remaining airy and super well draining. It essentially absorbs water and nutrients and releases them to your plants as and when they need it meaning that you don't have to do as much to keep them happy. I made a video all about soil alternatives about a month ago and the pros/cons of each of them!
@@NanaOkani i recommend a chunky soil mix because aroids love air pockets! i personally have had great success with my aroids in leca! I saved my adansonii from root rot and i haven't experienced problems since! I don't necessarily want to say that leca is a save all but i would def give it a try!
@@TheJungleHaven I read an article about algae making noise. I have a Labrador Retriever so I know what a weapon that tail can be! I started to raise my plants with 18” stands and started looking at thrift shops for stands. Works great!
Awww yes I'm sure you know the power of the tail all too well haha. Plant stands are a great shout (unless your doggo also has a tendency to launch themselves 5ft into the air at the slightest hint of excitement) 😂
Good idea that we can pot a small avocado plant and move it indoor , i've got a small one which growed by a seed in our backyard , can't wait till Spring ! Tks
My fav plants are pretty much anything that’s part of the mint family. I always make sure to have some grown and put them close to my other plants since they keep away pests and attract pollinators. I had a ton of ants in my room but when I started germinating basil, mint, and catnip in my room, they were gone so fast. When I was done germinating my plants in egg cartons, I took them outside to grow. But I still haven’t seen the ants since.
Ficus Lirata is like the only cowboy. It dosen't want another plant next to it, maybe the alocasia. Maybe you can change it somewhere so that it is alone. Same with mine Lirata, I only put it next to it, so it's happy and the leaves are better
Being INNOVATIVE To RAISE POTS up from the floor can be simple and creative. Try taking a PLANT saucer large enough to fit under the bottom of the potted plant pot. Then Matching the size of that pot with a terracotta pot or something HEAVY... Turn the terracotta pot upside down Placing the saucer on the bottom of it and sit your plant in the saucer. ⭐ Trust me it'll be a plant lifesaver💚. You can do this or you can buy sturdy plant stands.
I would get yeah some metal or wooden plant stands cause they have some really cute small ones that would hold those plants I have all my big plants on plant stands signal ones
Hahah I've tried plant stands before, but they actually caused more damage in the long run cause she tends to launch herself at them and send everything on them crashing down 😂
Use nightstand or end tables. Much sturdier. I have two golden doodles and they too would know over plant stands when playing. But a nightstand/ end table or even short file cabinet are heavy enough to hold their own even against two rowdy golden doodles
Did you maybe use any hydroperoxide on that snake plant cutting or something similar? (Does not really fit w/ the algae though...) But the sound reminds me on the solution I use for my contact lenses and some plant cuttings shenanigans. ;)
Hahah no nothing like that - just water. I also started off several other Laurentii propagations at the same time, and none of them are making noise 😂 I'M SO CONFUSED 😂
Would have been too easy! 😄 With the hydroperoxide one can usually also see lots of small bubbles (causing the sound). Maybe check if that's happening? Than it's probably still a chemical reaction, but no clue of how and why.😂

That's a good idea! I'm hoping I won't have to worry for too much longer as I'm moving, and I'll be sure to pup-proof my plants a lot better when I do 😂
Pests can either come from the soil/substrate you use - there can sometimes be eggs lurking in the soil. They can also find their way into your house through open windows (and apparently even on your clothing). Some are asexual too meaning that it only takes one to start an infestation. Just keep an eye on your plants and check them regularly
I used to have a little shop and I took cuttings from some of the plants I had back then. I still do private sales occasionally so feel free to ping me a message on Instagram and I'll let you know when I've got some cuttings going x

They can be slow growers for sure! Not sure where abouts you're based, but in the darker winter months their growth naturally slows right down and they can become pretty much dormant
