    It would be lovely to show us how you styled these lamps around your house to give us some examples, I’m not so good in decorating myself 😅 Also I would be interested in how long you have the lamps on everyday for different plants and locations :)

    • @PlanteriorDecorator

      18 hours for locations with no other light, less in areas where there is some supplemental light or the plants aren't full sun!
      I will definitely add styling grow lights to my video idea list 😁

    Very informational video. I wish I had the budget to get some Soltech lights for my plants.
    For those looking for something less expensive, Sansi also has a full-spectrum bulb that's 3000 Kelvin. My bird of paradise survived the winter in a dark corner with it, and even pushed out a new leaf. I did have mirrors around the plant, though, to help amplify the light from the one bulb.

    I have 100+ plants in my office & I only use white daylight 5,000K bulbs in my ceiling fixtures, not "grow lights," and yeah the light is reduced some because of the height, but it's better than the other kind of light for me. So I guess your comment about "you can't put a growbulb into a ceiling fixture, the rays won't reach the plants" kinda assuages my fear of my growbulbs giving me skin cancer or something just from being inside my house with the lamps on? That's the biggest concern stopping me from buying a ton of these.

I currently have a GE Flowering & Fruits bulb in a lamp dedicated to my jasmine sambac and other plants in my bedroom but it's so bright it's annoying and I would love to replace with lighting that is that classic purple-y light and a little more relaxing, yet enough to keep the flowering and other plants happy. I scored two free Detolf via Trash Nothing here in New England, and am trying to plan ahead for 13% humidity season this winter. They aren't designed for 'wet' locations so it would depend how much humidity you planned to supplement! 😁 The colour tone would certainly be awesome

      I have 3 ikea greenhouses, a couple grow tents, and maybe 4 lamps with growlights going... honestly haven't noticed a huge dent because they're all LEDs 😬 the most expensive one I run is probably the 100W panel in the growtent and it's still not bad enough to be super noticeable.

I also have the small ikea fabrikor full of African violets using full spectrum led light strips. I can’t seem to get them to rebloom even though they look healthy. • @PlanteriorDecorator
      @PlanteriorDecorator  3 года назад +1

      Great question!! While red light is necessary for AVs to bloom, blue light is necessary for photosynthesis so I'd think a full spectrum growlight would be sufficient as it has both... you could try a flowering spectrum bulb and see if it helps!

    Also this information it’s so wrong, in the page of GE they give you the instructions, you shouldn’t put those lights that near. They are designed to be from 2 feet and up of distance, depending on how big it’s your plant.

    • @PlanteriorDecorator
      @PlanteriorDecorator  2 года назад

      I think you may have misread the instructions on GE. For low-light plants, GE recommends you place the PAR38 a maximum of 24 inches above the plant. For high-light plants they recommend 18 inches above the plant. It's even closer for the BR30 (6-9 inches).
      I find that playing around with placement for different plants can be helpful. Testing out closer vs. further depending on the plant and the light conditions of the room - for example you can probably get away with the supplementary light being further away if you already have some sunlight in your location.
      Hope that helps! 🌿💡
