- Stiff lens slide door In Olympus Mju Zoom
This camera is actually emty, because I have found
it in the waste bin, but the sliding door was still
working even if it was a bit stiff. So hopefully you
can use the info in this video.
I use Isopropylalcohol 99% to make the cleaning, and to lubricate the 2 steele balls and the sliding gabs I use, "Liqui-Moly" LM47 MoS2 grease with Molybdenum disulfide.

Thank you so much for this video!! My camera had been in the shop for a year, they kept telling me they were looking for the parts to fix it but couldn't. I finally get it back and they tell me its unfixable. Well, I just fixed it MYSELF and it works exactly how it should!!! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for making these videos. I love film cameras and I try to restore them myself, just don’t have the skill and knowledge you do.
Superb video! when I noticed that the sliding door on my camera didnt feel like it was sliding any good I was very cautious of how I would go about to solve the issue. But now after watching your video I am much more confident and think I am capable of solving this without any trouble :)
Good info! I've always wondered how the sliding door can be removed to maintain the sliding mechanism.
Cheers for sharing.👍
I've had several mju models but my patest is the mju zoom 105.
Great little cameras.
Thank you! Just the information I needed to fix a Olympus Stylus!
Thank you so much for your video, it helps fixing my camera (slide door issue) !
Thank you so much for this video! I have a mju ii and the same problem. I did as instructed on this video and it has saved my camera. Very grateful :)
Thank you so much I fixed my mju thanks to you!!
Where can I buy the spring? How can I find it? I don’t know what to search.
Hi there! Same thing I can do for the epic stylus or Mju-ll? Thanks. And congratulations for the good video.
Great video thank you!
Hello, so what if the slide is loose so the lens won’t come out unless i push on the door. is there a way to fix it
Thanks for this video! Is there a particular grease you recommend? I used a lubricant in the grooves but it didn’t help much, I think a more gel-like grease will make it smoother.
Thank you so much
Thanks for your video instruction. Can you fix the flash on that camera to stay in?
In this case the flash locking part was broken.
Mike! I broke my lens barrier on my Olympus Stylus Zoom 80.. how do you get your parts?
mike i have two olympus mju ii if theres a e-mail so i can get in contact with you to fix them?
Thank you for this Video! Now I know why my lens barrier isn’t working anymore. I lost the two little springs with the two balls. Is there any chance I can find them anywhere and replace them ???
The metal ballls & springs ar easy to find. Just google 2 mm stainless steel balls and same for the springs
Did you ever find the parts to the balls and springs? I’m looking for the exact same thing.
Me too! I think I'm going to order some online and hope for the best!
What length of spring do you think it would need?
@@jluck2341 I just ordered some online. I’ll lyk when I get it and try it out along with measurements
