This is the new and improved Solar E-Clipse Version 2.0 electric motorcycle with a 75v 45ah battery and a top speed of around 60 MPH depending on rider weight (I hit 57 mph according to gps and I weigh 200 lbs)
The frame is constructed of carbon fiber and has a swing arm mounted motor capable of peak bursts of 10,000 watts. The original version of this electric motorcycle had a few issues which Solar seems to have addressed and ironed out in version 2. This electric bike is available in 4 different colors including white, green, blue, and black. It comes with a VIN and all the gizmos with the idea of it being able to get registered and plated, although I have not attempted to do that. The suspension has been changed, and it is still pretty soft, but can be firmed up with the compression and rebound adjustments or adding air to the chamber. It's stable at higher speeds and I've gotten over 40 miles of range on the previous years model which shares the same 72v 45ah battery as Version 2 of the Solar Eclipse Ebike. Is it worth $6,000? After looking at the website I like the carbon fiber wheels. They're an extra $1,700 but they cut over 30lbs of weight! Thats a huge difference

Can you bypass that with the fake pedals or whatever people do so they can call their fast ebikes like this /surrons/ etc regular ebikes?

Yea it seems like you need to live in a city where crime is so high that the cops have way more to worry about than someone on a bike. Its still illegal but its the least of their concerns. In my small beach town I don't even know if I'd get away with a moped style bike, nevermind anything like this. Its kept me from buying any bike which really sucks

I got this bike as soon as I saw your other vid and it does not disappoint it's so much fun and a tank. I was trying to learn to wheelie and it sent me flying lol luckily the only thing that got damaged was the back break lights but i see they sell replacements now on the website might get that soon lol.

Have you considered working with a local motorcycle dealership? That way you could use dealer plates for your rides. And you could bring in customers who want to purchase electric and gas motorcycles.

I really like it. The motor location is very common on gas mopeds. No way the Solar is bike path legal, but I'd say it's an excellent replacement for a gas moped assuming it's classified as a moped? That's usually 30mph top speed. I'm guessing that's what the locked setting is for.
moped has pedals, so I would call that a scooter like in the begining of the video.
Of course, brake tests don't REQUIRE a wall, a steep incline, or a dead end with guard rails etc. It sure adds drama though!
Granted, it does add drama!This is a fun bike, if you have the funds fir this much fun.

The bike would just randomly shut off. Nobody knows why(except the company ofc), but people would be riding it & it would just go dead. You'd have to restart it to get things going again.
Which is terrifying if you're riding in traffic.

what about warranty and repairs ? On their website it dosent says anything beside third party company will pickup your bike, bring it back and u have to pay them for transportation
Motor on swing arm means lots of unsprung weight, the exact same main disadvantage of a hub motor. It probably is more reliable for hard hits and jumps but frame mounted motor is best.

@@SolarScootersuk - Thanks! In the video, I was a little surprised that unlocking the settings via app didn't improve the top end speed much. BTW: The bike is awesome, just was thinking that it would hit 60+ mph.
@@brettr876 if you changed the sprocket configuration you could easily do 60-80mph… but would lack acceleration

If you got the 16" tires, which I'd want wouldn't that motor be even closer to hitting? I don't know much about these but that doesn't seem like the best spot for the motor. Also, I don't like that you have to take out screws to remove the battery. They could have easily made some kind of clips that held it in place or even a key to unlock it but screws? I see zero benefit to that design. Not having a garage anymore has killed any hopes for 90% of bikes I want

Beans that the motor is mounted to the swing arm there's no variation in chain tension
I personally think they should design it to use those rubber belts I have a belt on my Sportster and there's no chain noise it's very smooth and you never have to oil it it's the only way to go
@juicedjoyrides I have the V2 with about 400 miles and mines has that shuttling down while riding. Not sure what's causing it to do that😢

It might need a firmware update..my bike was shutting off on newer firmware (not solar), I went to some random old firmware and it fixed it
Their production version had software issue which seems to have been resolved. My friend who had the V2 couldn’t praise enough about it

I don't know why e-bike are too slow. E-bike is safer than e-scooter. E-bike should be able to travel 150+ mph.
I just bought a grizzly 52 volt full suspension the things kind of hi it's hard for me to get my leg over because I got this big old basket on the back I spent $3,700 Plus and it's dual battery and dual motor I decided to drive the car less besides I'm helping the world 🌎 except where I live the traffic moves very fast most the speed limits are 50 and 55 miles an hour and I wear my motorcycle half helmet

Id be very careful with these companies who buy bikes from Denzel with 40% profit and have no support. I know Denzel very well and they sell this bike for $3800 and you still make a profit. I cant say dishing 6000 on a bike from a company with no history is a good buying decision lolz
