Summertime Railroading in the Chehalis Valley [7/21/2021]

The Chehalis Valley is one of Washington State's busiest and diverse railfanning spots, and if you play your cards right, some days you can get a little bit of everything.
One got summer day in July of 2021 I was out with a friend who's gradually getting into the hobby. First taking him to see the Centralia-Chehalis Railroad & Museum's Summertime Tour train, we followed the next run, after our arrival at their depot in Chehalis, all the way to Adna.
After a pit stop at a nearby merchant festival to get some German food, we were off to Blakelsee Junction on the PSAP a few miles to the north in Centralia. It didn't take long before a train appeared, a Rainier Rail storage train coming from the BNSF yard, taking a line of tank cars up their line to Western Junction for storage. PSAP Switcher 501 was waiting for them to clear the junction to be able to head over to the BNSF, and soon they were next.
After two very unique trains at Blakelsee, Stephen was ready to go home and get ready for work. A quick trip to Lacey to get him home was made, and I drove back down to Centralia knowing Union Pacific's LIC55 was coming.
After shooting the southbound OSEGL trash haul, known locally as the "Seagull" both for it's train ID tag and it's smell, the LIC55 arrived in town. I caught it in two spots on the PSAP line, near the wye with BNSF and at Blakelsee Junction, on their way to interchange with the PSAP.
With the hot sun setting, I shot the final scene at Tower Avenue, with LIC55 pulling up to stop at the PSAP/BNSF wye. Days like this on the rails will never get old to me.
