I remember standing in the West Stand Paddock in 68' seeing Clarkey playing for Leicester,he had short back and sides and resembled a piece of string in a football kit.He moved to Leeds shortly after and became the country's most expensive player at £165,000 an icon for all Leeds fans, and still remains so today.
passion and emotion from a true Leeds legend - black country born and bred - lets all get behind the team and show them all we are truly together Leeds - best fans anywhere in the world - lets do it for Billy !! marching on together !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember Allan Sniffer Clark, at Fulham FC , i was gutted when Fulham sold Allan , some of his goals were sublime , i still followed Allan at Leicseter he was my idol , and then he moved to Elland road , he went on to be the legend i always knew he would be Leeds Utd you had the best player i have seen during my years following football Well Done Allan respect to you,, thank for the memories you left me ..
What a great man, I never forget when the Leeds fans got relegated at West Brom in 1982 and Leeds fans smashed the ground up, but Alan Clarke refused to question the Leeds fans and wouldn’t say a bad word about any Leeds fan..Special man my hero
As a young boy of 11,back in 68, I remember Sniffer Clarke signing for Leeds, This guy oozes class ! even as a guest speaker. You can sense the pride in his voice, His Love for this great club.
Superb footballer! We all grow old ......... he's still got the mark on his forehead from that bullet header against Arsenal in the centenary FA Cup final in 72 ! You're a football legend Alan ! Live long mate !
Think he was player of the match for Leicester City against Manchester City in the 1969 FA Cup final, losing 1 - nil, just before he signed for Leeds. Read it somewhere decades ago.
johnny rotten That Leeds team were the best team I've ever seen. Never be another team like that again. I saw them at Chelsea in the 70's when David Harvey dislocated his shoulder and Peter Lorimer went in goal. Leeds lost that game 4 - 0. But the following year they got their revenge by winning 2 - 1 with Billy Bremner and Johnny Giles running the show.

What a player he was!
I don't get Clarkey having what seems to me to be a W. Yorks accent.
After all, he grew up in Walsall, W. Midlands.
He is so thin is he well?
ajay999999 he was always slim
johnny rotten Great player and deserved more England caps as well
