After much fiddling, I found I was unable to get any data from my Carry-On Digital Instrument (A MIDI Wind Controller), but I WAS able to use loopMIDI and MIDIBerry to get data from my Roland AE-01 wind controller and pass it on to Reaper. The only trouble is, I have to plug a null 3.5mm plug into the AE-01's headphone jack to keep the internal speaker from sounding while playing into a virtual instrument in Reaper. I have a lot to learn about my DAW before I can say I've figured this thing out, but at least I've figured out that the Carry-On device only seems to really talk to fruit machines. Windows and Android...only the Android app that Roland provides for the instrument. But for a fruit machine -- an Apple anything -- GarageBand will connect to the Carry-On instrument just fine.
I wish Apple and Microlimp could get their act together and support the MIDI over Bluetooth standard properly. It's frustrating that so many manufacturers think that musicians can only understand fruit machines or something. The only reason I don't know how to do it very well yet is because I haven't had this set up for all that long, and haven't worked through the tutorials. Apple acts like musicians can't learn Windows software.
I have stopped backing music crowdsourcing projects unless they've got it working equally well under Android/Windows as they do under Apple standards. If they say "the MacOS/IOS app will come out first, then the Windows/Android app will come out later," I nope on out of there, just to do my microscopic bit to encourage these devs to support Windows and Android properly.
Yes, some of it is Microsquish not giving enough of a crap about MIDI over Bluetooth to ACTUALLY fix it, but I complain to them just as much as I do to/about the Fruit Company.

Look at the video and your channels that you select should look similar to mine I believe the are all numerically named. @@danieldhoskins Yes, I have loopbackmidi and it works. It seems, my Windows is somehow broken, it does not recognize Bluetooth MIDI devices, so midiberry also does not see them. However, if I use my own programming code, I can access the device as a generic Bluetooth device and I can also connect to its MIDI stream. The problem - I had to port a MIDI parser from Java code to make my own app to work. And in general, the latency is quite noticeable and sometimes it loses the connection for no reason.

Does it work for sending MIDI data Via BlueTooth from one laptop to a second one ? I have let's say "LAPTOP A" running a DAW (Ableton Live) and "LAPTOP B" running a VJ sofwtare (projecting visual effects on a screen, etc) that i would like to control by a MIDI TRACK in Ableton ... I connected the two computers by BlueTooth and they "see" each other ... i also installed loop midi + MidiBerry to both the laptops BUT i can't figure how to chose "inputs and outputs" and connect them ...
