I am this couple. When we met 28 years ago I did on-site promotions for an unnamed major beer company, and she was a special needs elementary school teacher. It really is amazing how much anal brings a couple together.

How? Yeah, it is kinda late for SNL to reference that show since it's not on anymore, but it probably still airs in reruns and on streaming. Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Jane Wickline actually likes that show. She seems like the kind of person who would watch it unironically.

Jane's fake booty on Temu line is so good. The whole sketch is really a setup for this punchline, and it totally works cause you know the quiet thoughtful nerd girl has been coming up with comebacks in her head since highschool and is just looking for an opportunity to deal them out like playing cards.
She’s sharp and quick but doesn’t get into drama or conflict and isn't social so there no place for the wit to shine

This feels like the kind of couple you would see on a sitcom used as an added element for the main characters to interact with while we watch these two just have a healthy and loving relationship.
Like we slowly see the progession of them being together then have a small arc of the guy proposing to her, then the wedding, then a kid. During which the main sitcom cast is struggling to do anything and has tons of bad relationships and drama. Its great, this skit is a favorite!

I like that she looked like she genuinely liked him the whole time and wasn’t annoyed.
This is actually extremely cute how we have all seen this phenomenon. It's both unbelievable that they are together, but also transforms into the vibe of, "but of course! ... who else would be right for either of them?" two very oddly shaped puzzle pieces that work by fitting together in the most oddball perfect way!. His reaction to her poetry though... i want a man to react to ANY part of me just in the way this guy reacts to her reading a few lines of "poetry." cute skit

Watching Steven Universe in the club got me good omg 😂. Ik it's just a bit, but their relationship was genuinely really sweet! Grant gassing his girl up over the smallest things, and Alyssa in return being protective over her man despite her quiet personality. They seem like a great match and I wish nothing but the best for these two fictional characters lmao
I never thought I'd hear SNL mention "Steven Universe" in any capacity, but here we are. Plus, Jane Wickline does seem like the kind of person who would love that cartoon, but not be one of those rabid fans that ruins it for everyone.

It is very sweet, they kinda remind me of my partner and I (not nearly as stark in differences though lol). My love and I are both introverts at heart, but while they can be more outgoing and social, I almost always hide in my house watching 'Steven Universe' on my laptop XD

Yes, I have know a few couples like this. One was a very enthusiastic social guy who was funny and cracking jokes, pretty good looking. His wife was quiet, wasn't very fashionable and awkward in company but he loved her to bits.

It gets crazy as you get older too. People start getting divorced and rebounding with someone from high school that they weren't compatible with then, and certainly aren't now outside of having one thing in common. Kids and an ex-spouse they can bitch about together.

Grant: And I said, “Hi, nice to meet you Alyssa, I’m In Love.” Play my track baby!

Alyssa: ‘And she was ephemeral.’ Grant: Yeah, nice to meet you, Ephemeral! Hahaha! Oh man. And you know what else I love about my baby, bro? Is that she is mad protective, Colin.
Colin: Oh, wow, really?
Grant: Oh hell yeah. One time, this girl came up on me in the club. Talking crazy, feeling up on me. And what did you say, baby? What’d you say?
