    I love my 5D IV, it's just a wonderful camera, no regrets for the purchase. I did have the C-LOG installed, not I do a lot of videos. If you can justify the cost, go for it. You will face a very steep learning curve, but it's worth the effort, many of my photos are just great looking.

    I have to say that I love my 5DIV. It replaced a 5DIII, and it is a better camera, but I honestly could have still been using my 5D III and that would have been fine. New cameras always claim to offer more. They sometimes do, at other times they offer more, but it doesn't really change the game, and at other times the "improvement" is more hype than anything. Since I'm mostly a stills photographer the 5DIII did everything I needed it to do. However, I really do like the dual pixel autofocus and the touch screen on the 5DV.

    Recently I bought a used Canon 5D Mark IV and own one used professional L lens and a 50 1.8. I plan to grow with this camera and become a professional photographer. I’m sure the RF cameras and lens are great. But I want to be a photographer now and not wait for when I can afford a better camera. This is better than my T6 Rebel.

    I love my 5D mark iv. I think it's a great stills camera, and not bad for 1080p videos. I'm not ready yet to jump to mirrorless.....

    I own 2 5DIII's. I needed an upgrade and was having my doubts between a second hand 5DIV or a new R6. I bought the latter and don"t regret it

    The 4K crop approximates Super 35 which is the popular standard for professionals shooting motion pictures. These pro's turn out amazing work while the You Tuber's complain and can't seem to figure it out.

      You're ignoring his comment about "around the same price". Sure a professional can make anything look good, but if you're paying the same price you might as well go for the camera that doesn't crop since it gives you more options.

    I totally agree that this camera just works and works well! I went from a crop sensor 7D mark ii to this full frame 5D mark iv and the look of the files are simply wonderful! I have paired it with a Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 and it knocked my sox off with it's low light performance. Thanks for your review!

    DSLR stands for DEAD SINGLE LENS REFLEX.. you can't manually focus lenses well because it has a mirror. When I discovered the value of this (using oddball lenses like helios) mirrorless was the only way to go.

    • @Stop-All-War
      @Stop-All-War 2 месяца назад

      ●You can manually focus, using your own vision or
      ●by focus distance markings on lens
      ●In Cameras is focus assistance flashing light in OVF..even by manual lenses will show when in focus.
      ●Another method is to change-out the focusing screen to a _'split-focusing-screen'_
      ●if you use Aperture correctly & know your distances & especially hyperfocal value of each lens, won't be a problem

    Thank you for making this video. That prices on used Mark IV's is such a steal right now. I have a Mark III and needed a second body so figured I'd get the mark IV. It feels little weird since this camera is "old" in terms of technology, but I think it'll do exactly what I need it to and be a noticeable step up from the mark III version.

      I used to chase technology too until I got a sony a7 iii, after which I realized that not everything is so clear. For example, it is more convenient for me to use SLR cameras in my shooting (clothing catalog, business photos, reports) than mirrorless cameras, and somehow the feeling of photography is much more pleasant with such a DSLR as Canon 5dm4

    It's an amazing camera. Solid, reliable, EF lenses are varied and proven. But definitely get C-Log or at the very least the Technicolor Cinestyle profile to produce some really beautiful, flat graded footage that you can work wonder with in post via grading. File size for 4K video is an issue and the crop factor makes lens choice a bit trickier, but otherwise it's great on that front and as you say, you end up with an absolutely brilliant stills camera. The quality of the Canon sensor cannot be understated enough, nor can their auto-focus!

    great video mate, i bought this camera when it was released and mate never regret the purchase, it was recently serviced installing also C-Log and couldn't be any happier, i would recommend this camera over and over again and if anybody out there is complaining about the 1.74 crop in 4K well Tokina has a very sharp 11-20 2.8 that will help you with the wide shots 🤙🏼

    Its funny, I sold this camera to buy the R5. One thing I actually don't really use too much is the flip out screen (landscapes/woodlands mostly), I even think the flip out screen almost seems like it could be a weak point physically if I dropped it. I love my R5 but miss my 5D.

    Great video mate really well put together! I love my 5D IV. And re video; I have the clog upgrade and use a ninja V atomos external recorder - holy smokes it produces beautiful footage. It’s only 1080p not 4K (a limitation set by canon - no 4K external recording on this camera…) BUT I’m telling ya it looks like RED footage. 🔥

    • @Joyful-Yarn
      @Joyful-Yarn 2 года назад +1

      @@charlesjones5210 Yes it really does. Recording to the Atomos bypasses the compression that would exist if recording in-camera. You end up with really nice quality footage. 👌

    Hi.... What's your thoughts between the 5d iv and 1dx mk iii. I'm mostly a wildlife photographer but there's an obvious price difference and the difference in sensor res

    • @BrianKissig
      @BrianKissig  2 года назад +1

      I haven't used the 1dx mk iii, but according to research I've seen it's designed specifically for wildlife photography and sports, so it may be the better choice for you. seems like it has more tools for capturing dynamic action. its a lower resolution, but not by much, guess it would depend if you think you'll be cropping in a lot.

    • @FART-REPELLENT
      @FART-REPELLENT Год назад +1

      No the 5D MKIV is definitely not a beginner's camera. You will recognise a beginners camera by it's price, ie a new beginners DSLR with a kit lens will cost you upto $£700.

    • @Robstrap
      @Robstrap Год назад +1

      The term beginner usually means budget. If you can afford this, it's a great camera and has room for you to grow as a photographer by slowly learning all of the camera options etc
