  • Pichincha is a volcano overlooking the Ecuadorian capital of Quito and you can take a Teleferico (cable car / gondola) to the top! Not only can you find great views of the city from there, but you will also be overlooking the site of one of the most historically significant battles in the Ecuadorian War of Independence from the Spanish Empire. Come along and see the beautiful sights and learn a little more about the battle and its significance to Ecuadorian history, and South American history as well! Also, I will be pronouncing "Pichincha" wrong for the entire video, as well as some other videos too! Enjoy!

Hi Garry. Would like to mention that before the independence wars against the spaniards, we all were considered spanish with the same rights as any spanish province in Spain. What really pissed off local criollos, in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú and the rest of Hispanicamerican countries was that the main political and administrative positions were preserved for Spain born spaniards, and very seldom for criollos. In terms of culture we are 75 or 80% spanish. And in terms if blood we are (average) 60% native americans, 30% spanish and 10% african

Pichincha (Pi-chin-cha) not Pinchicha (Pin-chi-cha), just for the sake of accuracy in spelling and pronunciation. 🤔😉 Your videos are interesting, thanks for sharing your travels!
