I miss the old Vegas- the over the top themed casinos with outside shows . There was an exciting energy throughout the casinos. Now, it's just like a giant shopping mall.
Vegas is turning into an overpriced place mostly for wealthy people or people who enjoy being gouged and think they are balling by paying $20 for a Coors Light at the pool and $8 for a bottle of water. I agree it has lost much of it's old charm. It's now just a generic place with very little character. These new places are luxurious yes....but when playing in the casino it all starts to feel very same-y anyway. The very high end places just aren't very fun to gamble in quite frankly. I would stick to downtown or off strip for gambling but most people not from Vegas will want to be on the strip not isolated at some off strip hotel 7 miles away from everything. It's not even a good place for food or entertainment anymore. You can see the same concerts or shows for 1/3 the price in another city. Or get just as good a steak somewhere else.
@STONESGAM agree, we used to fly to Vegas at least 2x a year. Stopped a few years ago, because it wasn't an unique experience anymore. It's all cookie cutter. I can stay at a luxury resort anywhere. Yet where else could I see an exploding fake volcano, carnival in the sky and stay in a giant pyramid all in the same place? Nowhere anymore.
It’s too brightly lit for me, somewhat tacky, but the burger place Capons upstairs is excellent I think it’s a one-and-done for me Great video as always
That’s what it is! I think you hit it on its head. The lobby is amazing but with out a lighting team they missed out on the opportunities to add a little drama or mystery to the place. I would have liked to see some more spotlights on the art work to make it feel even more grand. Which is why I feel it’s giving mall or airport vibes
Thanks I agree the lobby is really very cool It would be even better if the light inside those twisty plastic rods could slowly cycle/change colors Just some more mood would be great to create a vibe. The word “sterile” kept coming to mind on my first visit. It does have a lot going for it so there’s room for improvement. And I don’t wish for failure or anything. I might have to go back in a few months for another burger or another slice of that Miami pizza. The hot honey pepperoni slice is probably the best pizza I’ve ever had. 😎
I stayed the same night you and Travel Ruby checked in. I enjoyed the restaurants and the room was beautiful but I don't think I will stay there again. I had a difficult time trying to get my complete folio at check out, charging things to my room, and receiving tier/rewards points after my stay. I wish the higher ups had worked out more of these issues beforehand. It's frustrating having to call the hotel back several times after you return home and getting transferred to dead extension lines. On a more positive note, the pasta at Mother Wolf is a must try! Komodo is also really excellent.
on some level nowadays, if they’re going to justify being on the strip, they need BIG revenue. and if you need BIG revenue, you need PEOPLE. and if you need a lot of PEOPLE, you need to build in a way that accommodates CROWDS. which is why all these places look like nicer-than-average airports
We were there on the first day after opening. To be honest, we were disappointed. Beautiful property but lacked atmosphere. Didn't seem to have a fun vibe. Played slots for quite awhile and didn't get one line hit or bonus. Cocktail waitress finally showed up after about an hour. I ordered a coffee. After about 1/2 hour she came back and said coffee maker for her station wasn't working. No fun! And food prices were astronomical. Why are people ok with price gouging? We don't mind paying a fair price but don't like getting taken advantage of. Wont be back
Same issue as when Resorts World was starting up. Quite barren. But if you like less hustle and bustle in your home hotel, this is a great place to stay now.
I'm staying at the Fontainebleau in June. I got a Queen Bleu room for 145 per night +resort fee. Thanks for the video. I'm looking forward to the experience.
Agreed! Bring back themes. The best vegas hotels have a theme. The new ones are pretty but all look very similar. It’s not special without a theme of some kind
Stayed at Fountainbleu several weeks ago. We were impressed - everything from the lobby, the food, the pool and the room was top notch. The gym facilities was one of the best I've seen for a hotel. Many of the people staying there did seem very "bougie" which was amusing. Only drawback maybe is the mood is a little more sedate than the other hotels since it is still new. Since the hotel is still desperate for guests, the rate was pretty low for what is basically a 4 or 5 star hotel and they comped us like 100 bucks for food(!). Maybe the other drawback is its location being in the north part of the strip which required using the bus or uber to get to the busier parts to the south, but we didn't find it a big deal and we even walked back a number of times when it was cooler at night. Anyhow, we would definietly stay there again.
Bro, we went the 2nd day it opened. Thoroughly unimpressed. It was like a Hospital opened a Casino. I got flashbacks of the Hospital scene in Bicentennial Man and the "I Robot" scene at the company. Willing to check it out again but 1st impression was not good. Oh, and the Uber pickup? Sucks.

Hey dude, just stumbled across this video and I appreciate the down to Earth and honest quality of your commentary. Good stuff. I haven’t been to Vegas in decades, but if I were to stay at a new hotel, I would also expect everything to be open.
Nice tour of the place. I booked their corner suite for my trip back to Vegas this April, and I am looking forward to exploring the place in person. I think that's the trend with these new Resorts opening. I'm aging myself, but I remember when The Aria and Costmo first opened, not many of their restaurants and stores weren't opened.
@@Vegas-Must-Try Yeah, I stayed at both The Aria and Costmo a couple of weeks after they opened and a lot of the bars, restaurants and other places were not opened yet. I think it is just impossible to get everything ready all at once when a giant resort opens. The owners of those bars, shops and restaurants needs to hire people and get their stuff ready and it just takes time to make it happen.
I didn’t see any non-smoking areas but did notice that they don’t have any ashtrays anywhere on the slots and no ashtrays on garbages and people are resorting to killing their cigarette butt on the metal part of the slot and ashing over the carpets.
Was there the same time as you and Ruby. I was thrilled to meet her and Mr. Ruby - very nice, down to earth people. Sorry I missed you. In short, the place is beautiful, the rooms very luxurious (also not had a chance for anything to be damaged since it is all new), and it has potential. But you are right - it was not ready to open. Across the board, the staff tried hard but was inept. I had to call housekeeping three times to have my linens changed and it never happened. Nobody knew where anything was. My second night the TV went out and I was later told it was an issue with their provider. No TV late night. And their two sorry excuses for a gift shop are shockingly bad - you cannot get a small bottle of liquor to take to your room, only huge ones. It is also so huge it makes the MGM Grand seem like a boutique hotel. If it overcomes its growing pains, it could be a great hotel one day but that day is not here yet. Bellagio and Wynn are still the tops for classic Vegas comfort and style.
Pizza looks amazing but it's about treble what I'd pay for the exact same thing where I live here in the UK. Hotel itself looks really nice but it's location is going to be a problem and I can only think they are appealing to convention traffic and people willing to pay top dollar not to leave their resort.
My first time in Vegas as adult in 2008 i stay at the Riviera and the big blue building sat there for years i hear rumors that they ran out of money 💰 for this project. That location sucks u got Circus circus across the street and its not safe at night over there. Nice hotel im coming for Super Bowl 🏈 i will stop by and check it out.

Most youtubers won't give their honest feedback on any hotel because they don't want to be blacklisted and want those free comps.
Great review of this property. I feel that Vegas has mass amnesia and they do not learn from past economic lessons. FB acts like the pandemic did not happen. Small portions at high prices on the food. Room rates are going to be even higher once the pools open. Who cares about luxury shopping? They have already fired a senior exec. I heard that the staff was stuffy and the gaming floor has been dead, partly due to not matching tier points. They could learn a thing or two from Durango, which gets away with overcharging somehow.
They have fired MULTIPLE senior executives. The place has been open, what, a month? Not even. They lost a lot of higher-ups in the lead-up to opening, too. The bean-counters are running the show. That's why shops aren't open, why the pool isn't open, why tier-matching isn't happening.
Thanks so much for this! My impression from all of the influencer vids I've watched so far (which are your circle of Vegas influencers) is that, unlike Resorts World, Fontainebleau knows what it wants to be, but just isn't quite there yet. From a business standpoint, it looks like the rollout was handled by a bunch of rookies, although I'm sure that's not the case. After 16 years of hype and waiting, the thing should be ready to go. No alcoholic beer? That's just f*cking sloppy. All of the unopened stores is a big head-shaker too. Still, it's on the top of my list in terms of hotel-casinos to check out. That final drink you had sounded rather scary, and I'm impressed that you said it was actually drinkable!
Once, or sometimes more than that, I have traveled to Vegas for the past 24 years. The room looks nice but I cannot justify that cost for one night to be at the North end of the Strip. I plan to visit again in June so I expect prices to be about $100 more than what you just paid when pool season comes. I will stay with the dependable Elara, which I know is not exactly the cheapest either but it does have a kitchenette with a working fridge:) Thank you for this!
I stayed for a week without a car and I tell you dont. Nothing is close to this, the only thing close is Circus Circus or the Strat. And the zombies that hang around there, and the most dangerous Walgreens ever! I have to say it is the cleanest Hotel in the strip. The best security as well, no hobos, no one from outside the hotel is allowed to mingle in the common areas! But it felt like a glass jail for me. No recognized restaurants, everything is original no chains in the area. La Cote is great for a pool day breakfast. El Bagel is a really good breakfast! The coffee was really good but it was weird to stay in LV wihout a starbucks in the hotel. The burguers are really good, and the road side is the best mexican in Vegas and Ive been to a couple. I prefer Cesars Palace if they are gonna be on the same price range. The pools are better designed and you dont need to pay for a cabana to have a good time
I do agree it looks great, but i would never stay at these luxury hotel & casinos. They pay for the building of these places with crazy overinflated room prices & amenities, overpriced food & drinks at the restaurants. Most of the time you're lucky if there's any empty refrigerator & i know you wont get a toaster oven or microwave unless you bring your own. I don't think its worth the money to eat, drink, or stay here. I'd only come here to gamble and stay somewhere else
Looks really nice. Will have to reserve judgement untill I’m there in person but I will agree with others who say it looks like fancy airport terminal or expensive mall. No doubt low ceiling over table games is to keep the thousands of cameras close to the action ! Is there really demand for more high end rooms 300 & up ?? All new properties are very expensive - no more food courts now it’s called a food hall & prices are double. Call me cheap but I’m not comfortable spending 30-50.00 for fast food lunch. With all my complaining will always ❤️ Vegas ! Btw - excellent vids All the best in new yr for u your channel & your community ✌️🇨🇦
As a local it is nice and feels high end. They did leave it very empty and should have filled more spaces wit shops or attractions. There is a TON of wasted space and unused areas.
being this "up-scale" and "bougie" across the street from circus circus is wild lol
On gawd 😂 😂😂

An apparently honest, non-biased video. Much appreciated!
That final drink you had sounded rather scary, and I'm impressed that you said it was actually drinkable!
do they have a fitness centre
its not fountain like the Bellagio fountains. it is Fontainebleu. 2 different words.
Fon-taine-blu...
The pools are better designed and you dont need to pay for a cabana to have a good time
You can BUY it…Sr.VP operations fired and Wall Street has been asked to look for a buyer(s) 😱😱😱
oh shit! breaking in the news for me
I do agree it looks great, but i would never stay at these luxury hotel & casinos.
Tasteless tacos at $3.50 a bite, $18 tasteless drinks $11 bottled water? No thank you😮
Tacos in the strip suck haha all 7/10 compared to a street vendors out in LA
Looks really nice. Will have to reserve judgement untill I’m there in person but I will agree with others who say it looks like fancy airport terminal or expensive mall.
No doubt low ceiling over table games is to keep the thousands of cameras close to the action !
Is there really demand for more high end rooms 300 & up ?? All new properties are very expensive - no more food courts now it’s called a food hall & prices are double. Call me cheap but I’m not comfortable spending 30-50.00 for fast food lunch.
With all my complaining will always ❤️ Vegas !
Btw - excellent vids
All the best in new yr for u your channel & your community ✌️🇨🇦
Expensive airport lol! Love it thanks for watching!!
The food hall looks pretty plain and the selections are not great. But on the other hand, the restaurant looks good.
never too many food halls
As a local it is nice and feels high end. They did leave it very empty and should have filled more spaces wit shops or attractions. There is a TON of wasted space and unused areas.
Should have at least one attaction!
No. $11 for a bottle of water - I will take a hard pass on this ripoff - so many better options around.
